July 2, 2009 According to MLive.com, Terrelle Smith may have a lock on the starting fullback job in Detroit. Our View:Jerome Felton is in the mix as well, but it appears the team is leaning towards keeping both players. Smith, a 10-year NFL veteran, is an exceptional blocking fullback. He won't get many carries, but should be adept at clearing the way for running back Kevin Smith. |

April 16, 2009 Terrelle Smith has signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, according to the Detroit News. Smith played for Arizona last season and served as lead blocker for Edgerrin James and Tim Hightower. Our View:Smith will compete with second-year man Jerome Felton for a starting spot in the Lions' backfield. Considering Smith's age, it may be a battle that he loses. |

January 13, 2009 Cardinals fullback Terrelle Smith tells the Associated Press that his late mother foretold Arizona's NFC Championship game appearance back in April. According to Smith, when her cancer had spread to her brain early last year, Smith's mother told him she had a vision of him playing for the conference title. "Doctors say sometimes they get delusional and, at times, we thought she was," Smith said recently. "But now it lines up. It makes sense, and it tells me what to fight for every week." Our View:Smith, 30, was a fourth-round draft pick of New Orleans in 2000 out of Arizona State. |
