Free-agent running back Deuce McAllister may avoid a four-game suspension, according to Yahoo.com. However, in order to do so he may have to pay a six figure fine.

Our View:McAllister finds himself in a Catch-22. He may have a hard time finding a new team as long as the suspension looms, but he would probably rather keep the money if he is set to retire.

Deuce McAllister told ESPN 101 in St. Louis that he would like to play for the Rams.

Our View:McAllister will serve a four-game suspension (StarCaps case) at the start of the season, but could help the Rams when eligible to return, as the club lacks a solid backup behind starter Steven Jackson. He could snipe some goal-line scores if used as a short-yardage specialist as well.

Deuce McAllister is expected to suspended for the first four games of the 2009 season after the NFL finally won the StarCaps case that had been held off since the end of last season, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:Along with McAllister, the Saints' Will Smith and Charles Grant, and Minnesota's Pat and Kevin Williams are also expected to receive a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. McAllister is currently a free agent, so this news hurts hits him especially hard. McAllister hasn't received much attention from any organizations this offseason regardless, and thus it seems unlikely that he'll be given a chance to make any team's opening roster. He could join a team in need of depth at halfback later on in the season, but would only hold potential value in league's with a significantly touchdown-heavy scoring system.

According to the Associated Press, Deuce McAllister has indicated that he wants to play a couple more years. He is currently working out for five hours a day in hopes of getting picked up by another NFL team.

Our View:McAllister could still provide some quality snaps as a short-yardage back, and he will probably catch on with someone. He could be a fantasy contribtor if he gets in the right situation next season, but it is a long shot at best right now.

The Associated Press reports that Nissan has begun removing vehicles from a dealership owned by former Saints running back Deuce McAllister.

Our View:McAllister has been sued in civil court by Nissan's financing arm for $7 million, most of which is in unsold vehicles. Upon learning of the suit, the free agent filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
