The Bengals are reportedly considering signing Bubba Franks, according to their official team website.

Our View:The Bengals would add him for much-needed depth at tight end with Reggie Kelly (ruptured Achilles) done for 2009, Ben Utecht dealing with a concussion and rookie Chase Coffman still limited by his foot ailment.

Bubba Franks has been released by the Jets, according to Scout.com.

Our View:Franks had knee problems, which factored into his release. Rising star Dustin Keller and James Dearth are projected to hold the top two spots on the depth chart at tight end.

According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Bubba Franks is dealing with a knee injury.

Our View:Franks did not practice on Thursday and likely won't return until training camp starts. He is a solid blocking tight end, but isn't an offensive threat anymore and therefore holds no real fantasy value.
May 11, 2009
Bubba Franks has inked a one-year deal to remain with the Jets, according to the Star-Ledger. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:Franks only caught six passes for 47 yards in 2008, and should remain invisible as a fantasy performer this season while backing up rising star Dustin Keller.

Jets inactives: QB Brett Ratliff, K Mike Nugent, WR David Clowney, RB Marcus Mason, S Eric Smith, CB David Barrett, LB Jason Trusnik, TE Bubba Franks

Our View:On offense, wide receivers Laveranues Coles (thigh) and Jerricho Cotchery (shoulder) are active and will start. On defense, the Jets welcome back linebacker David Harris, who has missed the last five games with a groin injury.
