Anthony Becht intends to win the Cardinals' starting gig at tight end in training camp, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:He will be competing with Ben Patrick, Leonard Pope, Stephen Spach and Alex Schor for the No. 1 spot. He feels that he can still run and catch, and is probably the best blocker of the group. Becht is reunited with head coach Ken Whisenhunt, as the pair previously worked together with the Jets.

Free-agent tight end Anthony Becht reached a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, according to azcardinals.com. He will compete with Leonard Pope and Ben Patrick for the starting tight end spot in Arizona.

Our View:Becht failed to make any noise in his seasons with the Rams, and it's unlikely that he becomes a prominent feature in Arizona's passing game. Given the Cardinals' elite receiving corps, there just are not many passes thrown the way of the tight end in the desert.

Anthony Becht has been released by the Rams, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:The 31-year-old vet underwent elbow surgery in the off-season, and only contributed six receptions for 39 yards with the Rams in 2008. He is not likely going to be fantasy-worthy if picked up by another club.

Anthony Becht had surgery on his elbow as a fee bone chips were removed, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Becht is a non-entity in the fantasy game, he caught only six passes for 39 yards, but it's a bit of a slow day for NFL news.

Anthony Becht remains out indefinitely after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring ailment last week, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Becht isn't expected to hold much fantasy value as long as Randy McMichael remains intact. Becht will hold his most value to the Rams as a blocking specialist.
