USA Today is reporting that former Giants' receiver Plaxico Burress will begin serving his two-year jail sentence immediately starting on Tuesday. Burress will be eligible for release after 20 months with good behavior.

Our View:Plax was in court today, and it looks like he will be heading off to prison immediately. He will be 34 when the 2011 season starts, but he has said he plans to return to the NFL when he gets out. It looks like this will be the last we hear from Plax for awhile.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, there are rumors floating around that the lawyers for receiver Plaxico Burress could be seeking a Presidential pardon for the receiver. Burress was sentenced to 2 years in jail after pleading guilty to a felony weapons charge.

Our View:Sounds pretty crazy, right? It's actually not as far-fetched as you might think. There is a strong belief that Burress was done in by his celebrity, and many people in the sports community and outside of it feel that he got a raw deal. It might be a long-shot, but don't be shocked if more news comes out regarding this situation.

The New York Times Reports that trouble receiver Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty to a felony weapons charge and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Our View:The 32-year old Burress is likely done as an NFL player. He could still technically face more prison time on top of his current sentence if New York State doesn't accept his plea. There is no longer any reason to hang onto him in keeper leagues at this point and his reckless actions have effectively ended his playing days for good.

Plaxico Burress would be suspended for at least eight games if he signs with another NFL team, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:There is belief that a trial for Burress may not begin until at least the spring, leaving him eligible to sign with a team. Being suspended for half the season would make the chances of him signing with a team more difficult however.

The Jets are not expected to pursue free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress, according to New York Daily News.

Our View:The Jets, or any other team for that matter. Plax's future appears murky at best, and the uber-talented receiver may have sadly played his last games in 2008.
