National Football Post reports that Boston College head coach Jeff Jagodzinski interviewed for the head coaching position with the New York Jets.

Our View:Jagodzinski went through with the interview even though BC's athletic director threatened to fire him if he did.

The Jets plan to interview the Cardinals' assistant head coach/offensive line coach Russ Grimm later this week for their head coaching position, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:The Rams are also interested in Grimm, so he has several options for next season including returning to the Cardinals.

The Jets have contacted Boston College's head coach Jeff Jagodzinski about their vacancy, according to the Boston Globe. He denied the contact, but BC officials confirmed it later on Saturday.

Our View:College coaches haven't translated to much success in the NFL in recent years, with Lane Kiffin just being the latest example by failing with the Raiders. To be fair though, we're not sure anyone can win in Oakland while Al Davis is in control.

Thomas Jones didn't mean it, apparently. After being critical of Brett Favre on a New York radio station recently, Jones backed away from those comments, according to ESPN.com. "I've got most respect for Brett. He's a great teammate, you know, he brought a lot to our team this year," Jones said. "I'm not the type of person that goes out there and just throws people under the bus or make comments about people."

Our View:Well, actually, he is the type to go out and make comments about people. Because that's what he did with Favre, saying he should have been taken out of the game against Miami. Jones wasn't wrong, but it wasn't really the best idea for him to speak out against a player he may have to co-exist with once again next season.

Jets running back Thomas Jones took some shots at quarterback Thomas Jones, according to ESPN.com. "The other day, the three interceptions really hurt us. ... "If somebody is not playing well, they need to come out of the game. You're jeopardizing the whole team because you're having a bad day. To me, that's not fair to everybody else. You're not the only one on the team. So when you get to the wire and somebody is just giving the game up, I mean, it's just not [fair]," Jones remarked.

Our View:Favre has caught a lot of heat recently, and this wasn't the only criticism against him, as it was also said he didn't interact with his teammates, spending his time in an office, and that he was resented by players.
