The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports that running back DeShaun Foster was one of five players to work out for the Rams on Tuesday.

Our View:Running back Gary Russell, fullback Carey Davis and linebackers Tank Daniels and David Herron made up the other four guys trying to impress the Rams. The team is obviously not comfortable with Samkon Gado as Steven Jackson's backup and is looking for alternative options. The Rams are also thin on defense after Adam Carriker went down for the season with a torn muscle in his shoulder. Still, GM Billy Devaney has not indicated that any of these players will be signed.

DeShaun Foster visited the Bills last week and left without an offer, though Buffalo is now re-visiting the possibility of signing Foster following the news of Marshawn Lynch's three-game suspension, according to ESPN.

Our View:Foster, an unrestricted free agent, is not expected to return to San Francisco next season. If he does agree to a deal with Buffalo, he would serve as Fred Jackson's backup for the first three games but would be bumped down to No. 3 on the depth chart upon Lynch's return. Foster should have little to no value regardless after failing to capitalize on a few opportunities with the 49ers last season.

DeShaun Foster is visiting the Bills today, according to their official team website.

Our View:The Bills are looking for insurance in case Marshawn Lynch is dealt a suspension. Foster would be a decent option, and he could be used as a pass catcher out of the backfield.

The 49ers want to add a big running back weighing between 215-230 pounds to complement Frank Gore in the rushing attack, according to ESPN.

Our View:The club expects to fill their need in the draft, which they feel is deep at the position. If they do find their guy, DeShaun Foster likely would not return.
