Jamal Lewis insisted again on Wednesday that he is planning to retire after this season, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:He says he has a trucking business that he would like to devote more time to. Averaging just 3.6 yards per carry in the Browns' horrid offense, it might be time to anyway.

Jamal Lewis sat out his second consecutive day of practice on Thursday, according to Scout.com. Lewis is healthy, and the reason for his lack of participation is unknown.

Our View:Lewis is obviously not happy after announcing he will retire after this season, so it seems like his lack of practice this week could have something to do with that situation. We will continue to monitor this situation as the week plays out.

Jamal Lewis has said he intends to retire after this season because he does not know where the Browns are trying to go, or what they are trying to accomplish, both on and off the field, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:He, like the rest of the world, is probably wondering why the rebuilding Browns are sticking with Derek Anderson at quarterback instead of Brady Quinn in an obviously lost season. Anderson has completed just 29 passes in the team's past four games, throwing one touchdown and five interceptions in the process.

Jamal Lewis stated that he intends to hang up his cleats following the 2009 campaign, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Lewis said that his 10th season in the NFL will be his last, after the Browns were mauled by the Bears 30-6 at Soldier Field. The team is 1-7, and Lewis is averaging just 3.6 yards over 98 rushing attempts.
November 1, 2009
Jamal Lewis ran hard in today's 30-6 loss at Chicago, as he gained 69 yards on 16 carries.

Our View:Cleveland failed to score any touchdowns, but Lewis had a solid outing as he was only averaging 3.4 yards per rushing attempt heading into the game. The Browns will have another tough matchup in Week 10 against Baltimore following their bye.
