Drew Brees completed 18-of-26 passes for 223 yards with two touchdowns against two interceptions in the Week 10 win at St. Louis.

Our View:Over the last four games, Brees has thrown six touchdowns against seven interceptions. During this period, he has lost three fumbles resulting in a total of 10 turnovers. He's still a top-five fantasy quarterback, but he has thrown one or zero touchdowns in four of nine starts this season.

Drew Brees led the Saints to their first ever 8-0 start to a season, while leading the offense to a 30-20 win over the woeful Carolina Panthers in Week 9.

Our View:The Saints trailed 17-3 at one point, but Brees' 330 yards passing pushed them to an eventual win. He didn't have the best fantasy day, connecting on 24 of 35 attempts for one score and one pick, but it was a big win for the Saints. Brees also rushed the ball twice for four yards but coughed up a fumble in the contest.
November 3, 2009
Drew Brees has been responsible for six Saints turnovers (four interceptions, two lost fumbles) in the past two games.

Our View:Of course he's also been responsible for six touchdowns, but for the Saints to be considered a truly elite team, they are going to have to cut down on all the turnovers. No team, no matter how talented, can remain undefeated if they are turning the ball over 3-to-4 times per game.

Drew Brees went over 300 yards yet again on Monday as the Saints held off the Falcons 35-27. Brees finished the game 25-of-33 passing for 308 yards and two touchdowns. He also had an interception and a fumble lost in the win.

Our View:This was another big performance for Brees, who can pretty much be relied on every week for an outing like this. The two turnovers were a small bump in the road, but overall it was a very nice performance against a quality opponent.

Drew Brees got off to a very slow start against Miami on Sunday but was able to salvage it with a nice second half, eventually finishing 22-of-38 for 298 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. He added two scores on the ground and also fumbled twice, losing one of them.

Our View:Brees pretty much covered every area of the box score on Sunday. It was very nice to see him bounce back and compile some fantasy points for his owners after such an atrocious and turnover-filled first half. There continues to be no doubt about Brees as a truly elite fantasy gunslinger.

Drew Brees helped the Saints march to a big 48-27 win over the Giants at the Superdome today, as he completed 23-of-30 passes for 369 yards, with four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Our View:The stud quarterback has now thrown 101 touchdown passes as a member of the Saints. He bounced back with a vengeance today after failing to throw a touchdown in each of his previous two games.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune's Jeff Duncan reports that the Saints have yet to trail through four games in 2009.

Our View:Chalk it up to an amazingly balanced offense that featured nine Drew Brees passing touchdowns in weeks one and two, and four rushing scores in weeks three and four. Brees, Pierre Thomas, Marques Colston and even Jeremy Shockey will all be top-shelf fantasy options going forward.
October 4, 2009
Drew Brees completed 20-of-32 passes for 192 yards on Sunday, but failed to throw for a touchdown for the second straight week.

Our View:The Saints are 2-0 in those games, however. After Brees threw for 5,000 yards in 2008, and for nine touchdowns in the first two weeks of 2009, expectations were elevated to a fever pitch. However, nine touchdowns every four weeks seems to be a good idea of what to expect from the All-Pro quarterback going forward.
September 27, 2009
Drew Brees completed 16-of-29 passes for 172 yards and no scores in the Week 3 win over the Bills.

Our View:The weather helped hold the Saints passing attack in check, but the offense showed that they have more than just Brees. They ran for over 200 yards and three touchdowns. Brees' owners aren't happy, but they have no room for complaint after those opening two games.
September 20, 2009
Drew Brees shot down the Eagles in today's 48-22 loss at Lincoln Financial Field, as he completed 25-of-34 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns.

Our View:Brees is off to a scorching start as he already fired nine touchdown passes over the first two games of the season. The Bills will try to cool him off next weekend at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
September 13, 2009
Quarterback Drew Brees completed 26-of-34 passes for 358 yards and six touchdowns in the Week 1 shellacking of Detroit.

Our View:Brees threw scoring tosses to five different receivers, including two to tight end Jeremy Shockey. However, the degree of difficulty gets turned up a couple of notches next week at Philadelphia.
August 29, 2009
Drew Brees decimated the Raiders on Saturday afternoon, completing 14-of-17 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns.

Our View:With Tom Brady now nursing a sore shoulder, there truly is no debate - Drew Brees is the premier fantasy quarterback out there.
August 23, 2009
Drew Brees had a solid night on Saturday against the Texans, throwing for 87 yards while going 9-of-14.

Our View:Many people's top overall pick also threw a touchdown while playing rather sparingly in a Saints blowout loss.
August 10, 2009
According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Saints' quarterback Drew Brees returned to the practice field on Monday after missing the weekend due to the death of his mother.

Our View:Missing a few days of practice is nothing for a guy like Brees, and he is back in there today. Obviously, this will have no effect on his fantasy status as the number one quarterback in the league.
January 28, 2009
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been named the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Year, beating out Arizona's Kurt Warner and Indianapolis' Peyton Manning.

Our View:The second quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 5,000 yards in a season, Brees narrowly missed breaking Dan Marino's single-season yardage record, coming up just 16 yards shy. The Saints' disappointing 8-8 season in 2008 was typified by the team's finale against Carolina, a game in which the New Orleans offense compensated for the shortcomings of the defense by rallying from a 20-point deficit, only to lose in the waning seconds on a Panthers field goal.
January 24, 2009
The New Orleans Saints are getting close to a deal to keep them in the Superdome for the foreseeable future, according to WWL radio in New Orleans.

Our View:The team would like to get the deal done in order to put in a bid for the Super Bowl, though the next available one is in 2013.
January 13, 2009
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that the Saints have promoted quarterbacks coach Pete Carmichael Jr. to the position of offensive coordinator, replacing Doug Marrone, who moved on to become the head coach at Syracuse.

Our View:Fantasy owners have nothing to fear as far as the productivity with Drew Brees. Carmichael has been working with Payton and the QB for two years, and Payton calls the plays anyway.
January 6, 2009
Quarterback Drew Brees has been named as The Associated Press 2008 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, the AP reports. He earned 22 of the 50 votes and beat out Philip Rivers, DeAngelo Williams, Michael Turner, and Steve Smith. Brees passed for 5,069 yards during the season, which is the second-best mark of all-time.

Our View:Congrats to Drew, who excelled despite injuries to Marques Colston, Jeremy Shockey, and Reggie Bush. Brees is likely to sit atop the fantasy quarterback rankings entering 2009. Also, isn't it odd that Rivers and Williams finished second and third in this voting but didn't make the Pro Bowl?
