Eric Barton has been placed on season-ending injured reserve due to his neck injury, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Our View:Barton may require surgery. Now Cleveland has both starting inside linebackers on injured reserve, as Barton joins D'Qwell Jackson (shoulder). Barton could officially be dropped from IDP rosters.

Eric Barton is considering surgery on the bulging disc in his neck, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:Barton's season may be over if he undergoes surgery or not. The Browns are without both of their starting inside linebackers, as stud D'Qwell Jackson was recently placed on IR with his shoulder injury.

Eric Barton's season is in jeopardy after the veteran linebacker suffered a neck injury against the Bears last Sunday, according to ESPN.

Our View:He has a "a bulging disc between (his) C3 and C4 vertebrae." It was initially reported as a shoulder injury. Barton is currently second on the Browns with 58 tackles. Blake Costanzo is his back-up at right inside linebacker.

Our View:Barton is questionable to return. The Browns cannot afford to lose the solid veteran linebacker with D'Qwell Jackson down for the remainder of 2009.

Eric Barton fully practiced for the second straight day Thursday, according to the Browns' official website. He has been dealing with a shoulder ailment.

Our View:Barton is yet to miss a game this season, and should be ready to go for Sunday's home game against the Packers. He racked up 49 tackles (31 solo) over six outings, and is now Cleveland's top linebacker with D'Qwell Jackson (shoulder) done for 2009.

According to the Cleveland Browns' official website, Eric Barton has been quite impressive in the team's OTAs. Barton is expected to start at outside linebacker, as he is working with the first team defense.

Our View:Barton has experience in coach Mangini's defense, so he should make a seamless transition to Cleveland. Expect him to have a decent season, as he is still a very solid linebacker.

Our View:He follows former Jets' head coach Eric Mangini to Cleveland. Barton is a solid pro and will help fill the void left by Andra Davis' departure to Denver.
