Edgerrin James has been waived by the Seahawks, according to Adam Schefter's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View:James' running skills have declined, and he only averaged 2.7 yards over 46 carries prior to today's move. He shouldn't hold much fantasy value if he gets picked up by another club.

Edgerrin James is likely to be the Seahwaks' short yardage and goal-line back this season, according to Seahawks.com.

Our View:He's basically taking on the exact role of the recently jettisoned T.J. Duckett, and should be a solid Julius Jones handcuff.

Edgerrin James will only be a "complementary" back for the Seahawks, according to ESPN.

Our View:Not that you were rushing to add his 3.6 YPC from the past three seasons anyway, but Seahawks coach Jim Mora confirmed the obvious on Wednesday. And as far as handcuffs go, there have been better.

Edgerrin James has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Seahawks, according to ProFootballTalk.com. It is believed to be a one-year deal worth $2MM.

Our View:James should battle T.J. Duckett for playing time, but his fantasy value will be limited as long as starter Julius Jones remains intact and plays well.

Agent Drew Rosenhaus stated that he expects client Edgerrin James to find a new home in the NFL after being cut loose by Arizona, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Our View:While Rosenhaus expects the 30-year-old running back to sign with another team, he admitted that it may not happen until closer to training camp, after an injury opens up an opportunity. James' best days in the NFL are behind him.
