Fred Taylor, out for the season with a thumb injury, would like to return to Jacksonville next season. He is due $6 million and would likely need to take a paycut, the Boston Globe reports.

Our View:Taylor's struggles this season indicate that he could struggle to find a No. 1 back job if he goes elsewhere.

Fred Taylor was placed on the injured reserve on Thursday due to his thumb injury, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:This would be a sad way for Taylor's career as a Jaguar to end if it does. Taylor has stated he would like to remain in Jacksonville, but he would have to take a major pay cut with the team ready to hand over the reigns of the running game to Maurice Jones-Drew.

Fred Taylor could be placed on injured reserve due to his thumb injury suffered in Week 14 against the Bears, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Our View:The Jaguars intend to bring back LaBrandon Toefield and Alvin Pearman for workouts to help fill the void left by Taylor. Maurice Jones-Drew should have the workload at running back all to himself this weekend against the Packers.
December 1, 2008
Fred Taylor broke the Jaguars team record for touchdowns with his fourth quarter score against the Texans. Taylor rushed for 67 yards on only nine carries.

Our View:Taylor surpassed the touchdown total of Jimmy Smith. The score was his first of the year.

Jaguars.com reports that running back Fred Taylor will not return to the Jaguars next season unless he redoes his contract.

Our View:Taylor has had a very good career with Jacksonville, but it appears they are clearly ready to hand over the full-time job to Maurice Jones-Drew.
