According to Pro Football Talk, "several" teams have contacted free agent running back Warrick Dunn and inquired about his conditioning and interest level.

Our View:The Eagles and Seahwaks have been known to express interest, but two teams does not "several" make. It's hard to believe he couldn't serve as a third back and a mentor somewhere, so consider it very possible he signs some place.

NFL.com reports that the Eagles and Seahawks have both contacted free agent runningback Warrick Dunn.

Our View:Dunn, a product of the West Coast offense, would fit in well with both teams. He would add depth in Philly with Brian Westbrook's health a constant concern and could push to get legitimate carries in Seattle with their scattered backfield. Stay tuned.

Eagles coach Andy Reid says the team won't rule out signing a veteran running back in the Warrick Dunn ilk as an insurance policy on the increasingly-creaky Brian Westbrook, according to USA Today.

Our View:Since he specifically mentioned Dunn, he could be in the team's plans. It's hard to envision him contributing enough to warrant any fantasy consideration, however. Should Westbrook go down, LeSean McCoy will probably get the most carries still.

Warrick Dunn has been released by the Buccaneers, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Dunn contributed 1,116 total yards rushing and receiving in 2008, but the new coaching regime decided to let the 34-year-old vet go.

Warrick Dunn has been nominated for the Bart Starr award, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:The award honors outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community. He formed the Warrick Dunn Foundation, which presents opportunities for economically disadvantaged single parents and children through programs like Homes for the Holidays. He also donates time and resources to Athletes for Hope, among other organizations such as the Boy Scouts. Other nominees are Kurt Warner (Cardinals) and Drew Brees (Saints).
