October 12, 2009 NBA writer Marc Spears is reporting on Twitter that the 76ers have waived forward Stromile Swift. Swift, the former second overall pick, was sidelined by a hamstring injury that didn't help his cause with the team. Our View:Swift has been a pretty big disappointment in his NBA career, but he still has enough athleticism to help someone out off the bench. Expect him to catch on with another team soon, but he shouldn't be fantasy relevant again this season. |

March 4, 2009 The Suns have signed big man Stromile Swift for the remainder of the 2008-09 season, the Arizona Republic confirms. Our View:The Suns will ask the athletic Swift to eat up some of the power forward minutes lost by Amare Stoudemire's eye injury. If it was 2004 and the Suns were still running Mike D'Antoni's offense, we might be mildly excited about this signing. As it is, Swift has no fantasy value. |
