The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that Raptors' forward Hedo Turkoglu is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Jazz. Turkoglu missed Tuesday's game against the Nuggets with a hip injury.

Our View:It will likely be a game-time decision tonight on Hedo, so fantasy owners are going to want to check back in a few hours for an update. It was believed he would play last night before the team announced he was sitting, so he could very well be in there tonight.
November 17, 2009
According to the Toronto Star, Hedo Turkoglu will not play in Tuesday's game due to a hip injury.

Our View:He was a game-time decision coming into Tuesday and it looked as if he'd play after participating in the morning shootaround, but it turns out he'll sit instead due to the hip. Antoine Wright will start in his place, so adjust your fantasy lineups accordingly.
November 15, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu was a late addition to the Raptors' lineup on Sunday, and he made his presence felt. Turkoglu scored 20 points, pulled down six rebounds, and tossed three assists in the game.

Our View:Turkoglu was a game-time decision, but his hip felt good enough to allow him to play. He looked fine on the floor tonight, so expect him to remain active going forward.
November 15, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu is not expected to play on Sunday as he deals with a hip injury, according to the Toronto Star.

Our View:Turkoglu is averaging just 13.9 points per game so far in Toronto, not bad, but likely fewer than the Raptors were expecting when they gave him a huge contract last offseason.
November 9, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu was 8-for-12 shooting from the field on Monday in the Raptors' 131-124 loss to the Spurs. Turkoglu scored 20 points and had three rebounds in the game.

Our View:Turkoglu was perfect from distance as well, hitting both of his attempts, and the shooter had it going tonight. He and the Raptors have had no trouble scoring this season, but they need to figure out how to stop someone on defense if they are going to be a playoff team.
October 24, 2009
SLAM! Sports is reporting that Raptor forward Hedo Turkoglu turned his ankle in the first half of Friday night's preseason loss to the T-Wolves. Turkoglu was held out as a precaution after the injury.

Our View:Turkoglu said he could have kept playing if it were a regular season game, but no need to rise further damage in a preseason affair. The real issue here is that Turkoglu has missed so much time this preseason that he hasn't been able to get used to playing with his teammates. It might take some time for the Raptors to gel, but they have enough talent to be competitive this season.
October 18, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu had his best preseason performance of the year to date on Sunday in the Raptors' 101-82 loss to the Celtics. Turkoglu had 16 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists in the loss.

Our View:Turkoglu has been slowed by sore knees so far this preseason, but he looked just fine today. He was 7-for-11 shooting, and he should be good for fantasy production in his new home this season.
October 15, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu scored only nine points for the Raptors in preseason action against the Rockets on Thursday night.

Our View:Turkoglu has been battling sore knees this preseason, so the Raptors have been taking it slow with their new star. He should be ready for the beginning of the regular season, but don't draft him too early based on his playoff performance from last season.
October 9, 2009
According to the Toronto Star, new Raptor Hedo Turkoglu participated in some full-speed shooting drills at practice on Thursday. Turkoglu has been sidelined with sore knees and wear and tear on his body.

Our View:The Raptors are hoping Turkoglu will be ready to go for opening night, and they are taking it slow with him for now to allow his body to heal after a busy summer that included a trip to the NBA Finals with the Magic followed by his appearance in the European Championships. He made progress on Thursday, and we expect him to continue to progress over the next few weeks.
September 30, 2009
The Toronto Star is reporting that new Raptor Hedo Turkoglu will sit out the first few team practices this week. The team is giving Turkoglu some time off after his greuling summer that included a trip to the NBA Finals with the Magic and his stint with the Turkish national team in the European Championships.

Our View:Turkoglu is expected to be a major part of the Raptors along with Chris Bosh this season, so the team wants to make sure he is ready to go when the season begins. Expect him to have another nice season, and he should be an excellent compliment to Bosh.
July 5, 2009
TSN is reporting that Hedo Turkoglu chose Toronto over Portland because of the high Turkish population in the Canadian city. Turkoglu's wife was said to have preferred Toronto to all other potential cities that were courting the free agent.

Our View:Whatever the reasoning is, Turkoglu is heading to the North. Turkoglu and his family feel comfortable in Toronto, and he should enjoy his time there. Now the team needs to add a few more pieces to help him and Chris Bosh out.
July 4, 2009
According to the Toronto Globe and Mail, the Raptors and Hedo Turkoglu have agreed on a five-year contract.

Our View:The deal is reported to be worth more than $50 million and the Raptors are short on cap space. They may have to give up their rights to Shawn Marion, Carlos Delfino, and Anthony Parker. The Raptors are throwing around a lot of money for Turkoglu, but he's an extremely talented player and the team feels he's worth it.
July 3, 2009
According to the Oregonian, Hedo Turkoglu has rejected an offer from the Trailblazers and has ended negotiations with the team.

Our View:No word on how much the offer was for, or why Turkoglu backed out of the deal and cut ties with Portland. The Raptors still remain interested and, with the Blazers out of the picture, look to have the best chance of landing him.
July 3, 2009
Despite reports to the contrary, the Blazers and Hedo Turkoglu have not yet reached an agreement, according to the Oregonian.

Our View:The Blazers and Turkoglu's representation have both refused to confirm the alleged agreement. It will still likely get done, but nothing will be official until July 8th anyway. Still, as of right now, no deal.
July 3, 2009
ESPN.com is reporting that the Portland Trail Blazers and Hedo Turkoglu have agreed in principle to a contract. The terms of the deal are not expected to be announced until next Wednesday when teams are informed what the salary cap will be next season.

Our View:The Blazers have been courting Turkoglu since he hit the market, so this doesn't come as a big surprise. He should make a young, up-and-coming Blazers' team even better next season, and he should be a strong fantasy play.
July 1, 2009
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Hedo Turkoglu was contacted by five teams on Wednesday. The Trailblazers were the first in line.

Our View:The Blazers came calling late Tuesday night when free agency opened, but of the five teams interested the Magic were not one of them. Looks like his days in Orlando are done. The other teams involved were the Pistons, Grizzlies, Raptors and Kings. He looks like he may be Blazer-bound though.
June 30, 2009
Elite center Dwight Howard stated that he would like the Magic to re-sign Hedo Turkoglu, according to HoopsWorld.com. Howard said, "I really would love for Hedo to stay, I really do. I believe that we can win a championship. We came so close and we are right here. I really want Hedo to stay. He has been a big part in my development as a player and I hope he stays around."

Our View:Re-signing Turkoglu seems less likely after the club acquired Vince Carter, but perhaps the club will find room to retain him by Howard's positive endorsement.
June 26, 2009
As expected, Hedo Turkoglu has opted out of his contract and is now a free agent, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The Magic were the favorites to resign Turkoglu until their deal to acquire Vince Carter yesterday. There is still a chance they might, but the kind of deal Turkoglu is seeking, believe to be about $10 million a year, would put them way over the luxury tax threshold. Start looking for other teams to get seriously in the mix now.
June 21, 2009
According to NBADraft.net, the Trailblazers are rumors to be interested in Hedo Turkoglu.

Our View:Portland is reportedly looking to dump Travis Outlaw (and his $4 million salary) and their pick in this year's draft to free up money to make a run at Turkoglu. If they are going to get a free agent it needs to be this offseason, as they will have to resign Brandon Roy and LeMarcus Aldridge the next year.
June 16, 2009
The Associated Press reports that the Orlando Magic would be willing to pay luxury tax to keep unrestricted free agent Hedo Turkoglu.

Our View:Turkoglu was instrumental in the Magic's run to the NBA Finals this season, and would be a huge loss for the team were he to leave. Management sounds serious about keeping him, and unless things drastically change, it sounds like Hedo will again be in a Magic uniform next season.
June 15, 2009
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the agent for Hedo Turkoglu has said his client will opt out of the final year of his contract, which would have paid him $7.3 million. Lon Babby, his agent, expects the market for Turkoglu to be "robust."

Our View:It will be difficult for the Magic to offer the most money for Hedo, as they would have to go well beyond the luxury tax threshold to do so. The past two seasons have been the 30-year-old's best by far, and it seems like he is poised to command more money than he is worth in his next contract.
June 15, 2009
Bulls.com reports that the Orlando Magic have said they will go into the luxury tax to re-sign Hedo Turkoglu this offseason. They also report that the Pistons are expected to make a substantial offer.

Our View:Turkoglu was obviously a key player with the Magic this season, but he is likely to fetch more money than he is worth this offseason. Prior to last season, he had never averaged more than 14.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, or 3.2 assists per game. At 30 years old, he will likely cash in on an expensive long term deal.
June 11, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu scored a team-high 25 points in Thursday's 99-91 overtime loss to the Lakers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. He also contributed five boards, three assists and a steal. He shot 8-of-13 from the floor.

Our View:Turkoglu has been productive in the finals as he averages 19.5 points, 5.2 boards and four assists over the first four games. The Magic will continue to rely on him to perform well in Game 5, as they are facing elimination while down 3-1.
June 9, 2009
Due to the struggles of point guards Rafer Alston and Jameer Nelson so far in the NBA Finals, Magic coach Stan Van Gundy insinuated on Tuesday that forward Hedo Turkoglu will handle much of the ball-handling duties during game three according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:Turkoglu has averaged 17.5 points so far in the Finals and has been perhaps the Magic's best player.
June 4, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu scored 13 points in Thursday's 100-75 loss at Los Angeles in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He also racked up four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. He shot 3-of-11 in the game.

Our View:Turkoglu has been a solid performer for Orlando, as he is averaging 15 points per game in the playoffs. He will need to step in Game 2 against the Lakers as the Magic trail 1-0 in the series.
May 28, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu led the way for the Magic on Thursday in their loss to the Cavs. Turkoglu scored 29 points and added six rebound and two assists.

Our View:The Cavs may have forced a Game 6 with their win tonight, but it wasn't Hedo's fault. When he is scoring, the Magic are very difficult to beat. He will need to keep playing well if the Magic are going to close out this series.
May 24, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu put up 13 points, ten rebounds and seven assists in Sunday's 99-89 Game Three win over the Cavaliers. The Magic now lead the series two games to one.

Our View:Turkoglu almost put up a triple-double in this one, but was a miserable 1-for-11 from the field. The majority of his points came from an 11-for-12 effort at the free throw line. He did however play some strong defense in the contest.
May 17, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu hit 9-of-12 shots, including 4-of-5 from three-point range, to finish Game 7's 101-82 win over the Celtics with 25 points, 12 assists, five rebounds, and a block. The Magic hit 13-of-21 from three-point range.

Our View:Hedo had not played very well for most of the series but he was on fire for most of Sunday night. He has a reputation of being a clutch player, and he fulfilled that prophecy tonight. He will have the task of trying to contain Lebron James in the Eastern Conference Finals.
May 12, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu was good for 18 points, two rebounds and seven assists on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough as the Magic fell to the Celtics 92-88 in Game Five. Boston now leads the series 3-2.

Our View:Turkoglu hit 7-of-14 shots from the field, but was 0-for-5 from downtown. Still, he posted his second highest point total of the series and had a solid all-around game for the Magic.
April 27, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu has been taking injections to numb the pain in his sprained left ankle, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:He skipped the shot before Sunday's Game 4 against the Sixers however, and scored 17 points - which marked his highest scoring output of the series.
April 17, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu is still dealing with a sprained left ankle, but he expects to play in Saturday's playoff opener against the Sixers, according to FOX Sports.

Our View:This is good news as Turkoglu poured in 23 points, six rebounds and seven assists in his last meeting with Philadelphia. He missed the last two games of the regular season, but intends to play through the pain on Sunday.
April 16, 2009
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Hedo Turkoglu does not feel that his sprained ankle will be 100 percent for about another week. He missed the Magic's last two regular season games.

Our View:The team would likely give any additional minutes to Mickael Pietrus, who probably provides better defense depending on the matchup. The Magic have the 76ers in Round 1 and the series may be tighter than many perceive. Philadelphia has played Orlando well in their meetings this season, so the Magic will need Hedo to be on his game and available throughout the first round.
April 15, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu is expected to miss tonight's home game against Charlotte while nursing his sprained left ankle, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:He sat out Monday's game against Milwaukee as well. The Magic already won the Southeast division title and there is no point of Turkoglu playing hurt.
April 13, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu will miss Monday's game due to a sprained left ankle, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:Turkoglu could probably play if the game meant anything besides helping out his fantasy owners and rewarding those who paid to see him play. However, the Magic cannot improve their playoff spot and he could miss Wednesday's game as well.
April 11, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu led all Magic scorers with just 16 points in their 103-93 loss to the Nets on Saturday night. He had six rebounds, two assists, a blocked shot and a steal on the night as well.

Our View:Turkoglu was serviceable on Saturday, but the game was a bit of a disappointment considering he put up 24 and 20 points in his last two games respectively.
April 10, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu led the Magic in scoring with 24 points, but they fell regardless, taking one on the chin against the Knicks Friday.

Our View:Not only did Turkoglu top his season average by almost eight points, but he grabbed nine boards, had five assists and added a blocked shot. He hit seven of his 15 chances from the field.
April 8, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu led all scorers with 20 points as the Magic beat the Grizzlies 81-78 on Monday. He also contributed seven assists and four rebounds, but went 0-for-4 from three-point range.

Our View:This is only the second time since March 3 that Hedo hit 20 points. His 14.7 point per game in March was his lowest mark of the season. In April, he is only averaging 15.2 points per game.
March 27, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu scored 18 points and came down with nine rebounds in Friday night's win. He added four assists on the night as well.

Our View:He led the team in minutes played, so the tendinitis issue is no longer present, and he picked up his shooting in the game, going 7-for-12 from the field, a perfect 3-of-3 from the line and he drained a three as well.
March 25, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu hit a poor 3-of-18 shots from the field, but picked up some critical free throws in Orlando's 84-82 win over the Celtics on Wednesday. He had five boards, four assists, two threes, a steal, and a block in the win.

Our View:It was a brutal night shooting for Hedo, but most of them have been in March. For the month, he is shooting 37.5 percent over ten games.
March 21, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out nine assists in the Magic's 110-103 win Saturday night.

Our View:There seem to be no ill effects from the tendinitis issue as he had a solid all around game. He should be a safe play every night now that the injury concerns have evaporated.
March 18, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu had a double-double in the Magic's win on Wednesday night. He put up 14 points and brought down 10 rebounds.

Our View:He should be solidified in his previous starting role as he didn't deem bothered by the tendinitis that has plagues his left foot.
March 15, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu said at a team shootaround this morning that he plans to play tonight against Utah after missing two games with tendinitis in his left foot, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:Turkoglu's replacement the past two games, Mickael Pietrus, seems destined to return back to his reserve role. He scored a combined 30 points in 75 minutes in his abbreviated stay in the starting lineup.
March 13, 2009
Updating a previous report, Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu will miss Friday's game against the Wizards with an injured left foot, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Mickael Pietrus, who averages 10.2 points in just over 25 minutes per game, is expected to take Turkoglu's place in the lineup.
March 13, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu, who is suffering from tendinitis in his left Achilles, is expected to return to Orlando's lineup against Washington on Friday night, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:It's still no sure thing that he'll play, and he was able to last just 20 minutes against Detroit on Monday with just two points before sitting out Wednesday; it may be best to leave him on your bench regardless and ensure he's back to full strength before being active in your lineup.
March 12, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu is once again a game time decision for Friday's contest against the Wizards, according to the Orlando Sentinel. A nagging foot injury has already cost him two games this season.

Our View:Turkoglu's ailing foot is apparently feeling better, but the team is unsure whether he will play Friday. Kepp an eye on him. If he is unable to return Mikael Pietrus will start in his place.
March 11, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu is a game time decision for Wednesday's start against the Bulls, according to the Orlando Sentinel. He has been bothered by a sore ankle.

Our View:Turk did very little in practice, but is saving his strength for just before tipoff. Stay tuned as he is a good fantasy option if he starts.
March 8, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu chipped in 16 points in Sunday's 86-79 win over Boston, to go along with two rebounds, two assists and two steals. He shot 3-for-6 from three-point range.

Our View:He averages 17.2 points over his last five games, but is only shooting 9-for-24 from three-point range over the span.
February 28, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu tied for a game-high 23 points on Saturday in a 106-100 win over the Sixers. He also chipped in seven assists, six rebounds, and one steal.

Our View:Turkoglu had 69 points in his last three games for an average of 23.
February 25, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu hit 11-of17 shots, including 3-of-5 from deep, to finish Wednesday's win over the Knicks with 33 points.

Our View:Turkoglu got hot tonight, and hopefully his solid play is a result of Rafer Alston running the point. Turk has had another strong season despite the fact that all of his numbers are down from last season.
February 22, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu not only scored 20 points in Orlando's 122-99 win over Miami, but he also grabbed nine rebounds and dished six dimes.

February 17, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu had a full night for the Magic in their win over the Bobcats, scoring 13 points to go with five boards and seven assists.

Our View:Turkoglu was awful from the field, hitting just three of the 13 shots he took on the night. He did make 7-of-9 from the free throw line, however.
February 8, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu contributed another solid performance for Orlando on Sunday, finishing with 15 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and one steal.

Our View:Turkoglu has scored at least 15 points in his last four games, while also recording at least four each of rebounds and assists over that stretch.
February 6, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu recorded a double-double on Friday, finishing with 20 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds.

Our View:This was Turkoglu's second straight game in which he scored 20 points, but it was his first double-double in four games. It was also the first time this year that he has reached double figures in assists.
January 29, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu was solid on Thursday for the Magic, putting up 19 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Our View:This was Turkoglu's first double-double in over two months, with the previous one coming on November 27th against the Wizards.

January 9, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu led all scorers with 21 as the Magic embarrassed the Hawks 121-87 on Friday. The forward also picked up six boards and four dimes in his 25 minutes of action. He hit all five of his three-point attempts.

Our View:It was a strong outing for Hedo, despite playing 12 minutes less than usual. He is still shooting under 40 percent, but he has picked it up recently.
January 7, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu scored 19 points, dished out eight assists, and pulled down seven rebounds as the Magic defeated the Hawks in Atlanta on Wednesday. He threw in two three-pointers and two steals.

Our View:Hedo has rebounded from two poor games to start the month. When he's on, he can provide strong contributions in all categories. However, he is hitting just 38.9 percent of his field goals this season.
January 6, 2009
Hedo Turkoglu scored 22 points in Orlando's 89-80 win over Washington on Tuesday.

Our View:Turkoglu also had seven assists in the game. He's posted solid totals this season for fantasy owners, except in field-goal percentages, of course.
