Newsbreakers
November 4, 2009
Quentin Richardson had his best game of the season thus far on Wednesday as the Heat defeated the Wizards 93-89. Richardson had 19 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Our View:Considering that Richardson was averaging 7.8 points and 4.3 rebounds heading into tonight's game, his line tonight was very impressive. If he can start to give performances like this on a regular basis, his fantasy stock has a chance to rise.

Quentin Richardson is nursing a left ankle ailment, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:Richardson could miss a few preseason games, and the Heat currently have very poor depth due to injuries.

In a patently absurd piece of news, Yahoo! Sports reports Quentin Richardson has been traded for the fourth time this offseason, this time to the Miami Heat.

Our View:Does anybody want Quentin Richardson? The Heat, who gave up Mark Blount in exchange, swear they do. But with his $9.35 million expiring contract, you truly never know. Aside from jacking up three pointers, he has very limited fantasy value, especially outside of coach Mike D'Antoni's system.

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Timberwolves may trade guard Quentin Richardson by the end of the week. Richardson was acquired by the team in July from the Clippers, and this would be the fourth time Richardson has been traded since the 2008-2009 season ended.

Our View:Okay, this is starting to get ridiculous. A player being traded four different times in one offseason is outrageous, and the funny thing is that Richardson is still a decent player. He can help someone out, but it might be like a game of hot potato, where the last team to acquire him gets stuck with him when the season begins.

Quentin Richardson has been traded for the third time this offseason, this time to the Timberwolves, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:Apparently no one wants Quentin Richardson. The Clips are getting some fairly recognizable names in return, Sebastian Telfair, Mark Madsen and Craig Smith. Q-Rich is long past his fantasy prime, but is still a decent option if you need three pointers.
July 17, 2009
The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Quentin Richardson is officially heading to Los Angeles to play with the Clippers. Richardson was sent to the Clippers in exchange for Zach Randolph.

Our View:Richarson was traded from New York to Memphis earlier this summer, and now he is on his way to LA. Richardson should still have some fantasy value as a good three-point shooter, but he is far from a top option at this point in his career.
July 1, 2009
Only one week after being traded to Memphis, Quentin Richardson has been shipped to the Clippers in exchange for Zach Randolph, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:The Grizzlies obviously never intended to keep Richardson, and he will now be back with the team that drafted him in 2000, playing alongside the man Randolph was dealt to clear space for, Blake Griffin. Richardson clearly loses value being dealt away from Mike D'Antoni's wide open system, but could still be a decent three point specialist for your team.
June 25, 2009
ESPN has confirmed that Quentin Richardson has been traded from the Knicks to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Darko Milicic.

Our View:After landing Thabeet, the Grizzlies did not have much use for Milicic. Richardson is in a contract year, and he will try to bring some veteran leadership to the young squad in Memphis.
June 25, 2009
The New York Daily News reports that the Knicks are on the verge of trading Quentin Richardson to the Grizzlies for Darko Milicic.

Our View:Richardson had a very inconsistent season last year, but he's clearly on the downside of his career. With David Lee entering free agency, the Knicks would do well to add some size, even if that player is Darko.

Quentin Richardson is questionable for Saturday's game against Toronto while recovering from a sprained ankle, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:He has missed the last three games, and should remain held out of fantasy lineups until further notice.
March 31, 2009
Quentin Richardson is day-to-day while recovering from a sprained ankle, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:He has missed the last two games, and is uncertain for tonight's outing at Denver. Keep him reserved until further notice.
March 28, 2009
Quentin Richardson is out for the Knicks game on Saturday due to a sprained ankle, reports the AP.

Our View:Richardson hurt the ankle on Friday, causing him to miss Saturday's tilt against Charlotte. Larry Hughes was inserted into the starting lineup in Richardson's stead.
March 23, 2009
Quentin Richardson scored 17 points and gathered in five rebounds in 37 minutes as the Knicks fell to the Magic 106-102 at Madison Square Garden.

Our View:Richardson is currently playing some of his best basketball of the season, which, depending on who you are, may not mean a whole lot. He'll now go for double digits in points for the third straight game for the first time all season.
March 21, 2009
Quentin Richardson had a game high 33 points in a losing effort against the Magic. He also pulled down seven rebounds.

Our View:This was a huge game for Richardson, but he has been maddeningly inconsistent this season. Hopefully you kept him around long enough to play him in this one.
February 11, 2009
Quentin Richardson probably will not play in the Knicks' game on Wednesday when they take on the Clippers, according to the New York Post.

Our View:Richardson is dealing with bruised ribs. He missed New York's game at Golden State on Wednesday, which they lost. The team has now been defeated five games in a row.
January 31, 2009
Quentin Richardson scored 15 points on five three-pointers as the Knicks beat the Pacers 122-113 on Saturday. He was 5-of-8 from long-distance, collected four rebounds, and dished out four assists in the win.

Our View:Q went four games without hitting double-digit points, and that's pretty much the story of his season. About once a week he will give a performance that makes him difficult to drop. The rest of the time he provides below-average production.
January 19, 2009
Quentin Richardson carried the Knicks in Monday's 102-98 win over the Bulls at Madison Square Garden, with a game-high 24 points and six boards and two assists. He hit 5-of-6 shots from long range and worked 37 minutes.

Our View:Richardson reached at least 20 points for the eighth time this season, four of which contributed to wins for the Knicks. He is capable of solid production when given enough minutes, evidenced by today's performance.
January 17, 2009
Quentin Richardson scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds in New York's 17-97 loss Saturday night at home versus Philadelphia.

Our View:Richardson is a solid player who has potential to make a difference offensively, if he is given significant time on the floor. On Saturday, he logged 37 minutes, his highest amount since he was on the court for 41 minutes against New Jersey in early December.
January 14, 2009
Quentin Richardson hit six of his seven three-point attempts and finished with 26 points as the Knicks defeated the Wizards 128-122 on Wednesday.

Our View:Once a week, you can count on a big game from Richardson. In the other games, you can count on eggs. If you are patient enough to deal with that, more power to you.
