Newsbreakers

Mike Miller chipped in 25 points in tonight's 106-96 home win over the Knicks. He also had nine rebounds, eight assists and a steal.

Our View:Miller was on target, as he drained 7-of-10 shots from three-point land. He set a new personal single-game high in points for 2009-10, and is worth a look if you need help at small forward.

Mike Miller started against the Lakers on Tuesday, scoring 15 points with five rebounds and four assists in 36 minutes.

Our View:The start was Miller's first since coming back from a calf injury last week. Look for him to stick in the starting lineup and be well worth owning for fantasy purposes as long as he can stay healthy.

Mike Miller (calf) was able to play against Portland on Monday, scoring 13 points off 4-of-4 shooting from the field, 4-of-4 from the free three line while also making his lone three-point attempt in 24 minutes of action.

Our View:Miller has proven to be quite fragile this season, though there's no denying his potential as a fantasy commodity if he can just stay healthy. He's worth adding if he's still available in your league, though you'll have to cross your fingers that he doesn't get nicked up.

Mike Miller (calf) will be a game-time decision against Portland tonight, according to the Oregonian.

Our View:His nagging injuries this season have been a major drag, though he's still probably worth owning given his potential as a starter in this Arenas-less offense. We wouldn't recommend starting him this week, however; give him a few games on the bench to see how he looks.

Updating a previous report, Mike Miller (calf) will not play in Tuesday's game against Detroit, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Miller aggravated his injury in Sunday's game and is mostly being held out tonight due to precautionary measures. The Wizards don't want him to aggravate it further, so Nick Young will start in his place. He may be worth a look in fantasy leagues as a quick fix.

Mike Miller is being listed as day-to-day after tweaking his calf on Sunday, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Miller's calf continues to be a problem. Still, he should probably be held onto given his potential as a starter when healthy, especially without Gilbert Arenas in the offense.

Contrary to a previous report, Mike Miller (calf) will be active against the 76ers tonight, albeit only in "special situation", according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Kate Fagan.

Our View:Miller certainly isn't worth playing tonight, as he shouldn't get more than a few minutes and wouldn't have even been active had it not been for Brendan Haywood coming down with an illness. Still, it's probably a good idea to go and pick him up now, especially with and possibly void to be filled in Washington's offense should they lose Gilbert Arenas to suspension or opt to trade Antawn Jamison and/or Caron Butler.

Mike Miller (calf) will not play on Tuesday night when Washington takes on the 76ers, according to Kate Fagan of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View:He was considered questionable for this evening. He is still on track to return by Friday when the Wiz are playing Orlando.
January 4, 2010
Mike Miller (calf) will return to the Wizards lineup by Friday when Washington takes on the Magic, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

Our View:However, he could return as early as tomorrow when the Wiz take on Philadelphia, or Wednesday when they play Cleveland. In nine games this season, he has averaged 1.4 made three pointers per game and 9.8 points.
January 2, 2010
Mike Miller continues to progress in his recovery from a strained calf, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Miller practiced on his injured calf for the first time Friday in over a month. He may be ready to return to the court at some point next week.
