Ron Artest led all Lakers in scoring on Sunday in LA's 101-91 loss to the his former team, the Rockets. Artest scored 22 points on 8-for-16 shooting in the win.

Our View:Artest was ready to play against his former team tonight, and he shot the lights out from distance, hitting three of his five attempts. He impacts the game every night with his defense, and there will be plenty of occasions when he does it on the offensive end as well.
July 2, 2009
Prized free agent forward Ron Artest has reached a verbal agreement with the NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers for three years and $18 million, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:The rich just got richer with this deal. Artest is still one of the premier defenders in the NBA, and shores up a defense that has been classified as "soft" for some time now. This also all but ends any chance Houston had of competing in 2009-10.

I do not have a figure in mind."

Our View:Artest also feels that he is among the best all-around players in the NBA, and won't come cheap. He fit in well with Houston this season, namely with head coach Rick Adelman.
May 17, 2009
The Houston Chronicle reports that Ron Artest said after Sunday's loss to the Lakers that he wants to remain with the Rockets. He will become a free agent this summer, but he said all the right things in regards to the Rockets and their nucleus of players.

Our View:This makes sense as he has typically played his best under coach Rick Adelman and has a good relationship with him. Artest had an admirable, albeit inconsistent, playoff run and a good regular season. Due to his turbulent history and the declining economy, he probably will not fetch as much as he would like.
May 15, 2009

Ron Artest finished Tuesday's game against the Jazz with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, but he shot a miserable 5-of-22 from the floor.

It took me awhile to get loose. I did not get in until there were three minutes left in the first quarter and three minutes left in the third, but I was never in a rhythm. It was hard. But I felt good."

Our View:He was limited to only five points over 22 minutes against Memphis, and looks to be an unstable fantasy option for Saturday's home outing with Minnesota.
