Jason Terry came off the bench to lead all Mavericks in scoring on Wednesday as Dallas fell to the Hornets in overtime. Terry dropped in 35 points in the game.

Our View:Terry also contributed two rebounds, three assists, and a steal in the game, but his main job is to score. He was getting only 13.5 points per game heading into tonight, so this 35 is huge. He is coming off a career scoring year, and he should be close to that 19.6 again this season.

Jason Terry led all Mavericks in scoring on Thursday night, contributing 21 points off the bench in their preseason win over the Pistons.

Our View:He was 8-of-10 from the field. Terry averaged more points last season (19.6) than he had in any season since 2001-02, and averaged a career high 2.3 made three pointers per game.
October 11, 2009
Jason Terry pumped in 23 points in just 14 minutes off of the bench in Sunday's win over the Grizzlies. He was 8-of-17 from the field, including 4-of-8 from three-point range.

Our View:Terry seems ready to take another shot at the Sixth Man of the Year award. When he gets going, he is one of the best shooters in the league. His reserve status often leaves him under valued on draft day.
April 27, 2009
Jason Terry believes he is due for a strong performance after shooting a poor 3-for-17 in Saturday's Game 4 against the Spurs, according to the Dallas Morning News. Terry said, "I missed some ones that I make. That is the encouraging part. I play the percentages, and I know that I am about due. Once you see two or three go in, hey, it is over. Especially for me. I am a streaky shooter. And the streak is going to come back."

Our View:Terry is only averaging 12 points in the series, but Dallas leads San Antonio 3-1. Game 5 is slated for Tuesday night.
April 22, 2009
Jason Terry has been named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year for 2008-09, according to the Star-Telegram. Mavs' coach Rick Carlisle said, "Most players would want to start and would feel that not starting would probably not be in their best personal interests. The thing I respect and admire most about Jet is he's a team guy. He makes it about winning."

Our View:Terry came off the bench in 63 of his 72 appearances this season, and averaged 19.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Terry served as a starter over most of his career.
April 13, 2009
Jason Terry hit the game-winner to push the Mavs past the Timberwolves 96-94 on Monday. He finished the game with 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting.

Our View:Terry is in line for the NBA's Sixth-Man of the Year honor. He averaged 19.5 points per game and is always on the floor during the critical moments for the Mavs.
March 15, 2009
Jason Terry poured in 29 points off of the bench as the Mavericks fell to the Lakers 107-100 on Sunday. He was 7-for-16 from three-point range and picked up four steals in the loss.

Our View:Terry continues to provide exceptional fantasy value despite coming off the bench. His performances over the past week and a half should go a long way in solidifying him as the Sixth Man of the Year.

March 5, 2009
Jason Terry had a difficult night against the Hornets on Thursday. In Dallas's 104-88 loss, Terry scored 10 points and only shot 4-of-13.

Our View:Terry also took five three-pointers, and missed each of them. He played 32 minutes due to the fact that Josh Howard did not play the second half with a sprained ankle.
March 2, 2009
Jason Terry played 36 minutes in the Mavericks 96-87 loss to the Thunder on Monday. He finished with 20 points, four assists, four threes, three rebounds, and three steals on 8-of-19 shooting.

Our View:The Mavs lost Josh Howard to another ankle injury in this game. Terry's most productive streaks have come in Howard's absence. He appears to be very close to "back to normal" and he is more than safe to get back in your lineups.
March 1, 2009
Jason Terry didn't produce much in his return to the floor for the Mavs, scoring just eight points in 19 minutes.

Our View:Terry's production should continue to rise as he gets back into a groove, but his fantasy owners may want to wait until that happens to reinsert him into lineups.
February 12, 2009
Jason Terry, who broke his left hand on Saturday, hopes to begin shooting next week, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Terry was the Mavs second leading scorer with just under 20 points per game off the bench. With the injury being on his non-shooting hand he should rebound quickly.
February 9, 2009
The AP reports that Jason Terry underwent successful surgery on a broken finger on his left hand on Monday. No timetable has been set for his return.

Our View:Terry was probably leading Manu Ginobili in consideration for sixth-man of the year, so he will obviously be missed. Expect Jose Juan Barrea's production to see the biggest increase in his absence. Terry should have a timetable in place later this week. The good news is that the break is on his non-shooting hand.
February 8, 2009
Jason Terry could be on the shelf for several weeks while recovering from a broken ring finger on his left hand, according to the Star-Telegram.

Our View:Terry, who averages 19.9 points per game, will be missed by the Mavs and fantasy owners while out of action. J.J. Barea will be afforded more playing time in his absence.
February 7, 2009
The AP reports that Jason Terry exited Saturday's game with a broken bone in his left hand. The guard was not sure when the injury occured. He had eight points and four assists in the game.

Our View:The good news is that it is in his non-shooting hand, but he will still likely miss an extended period of time. Terry has been excellent as the Mavericks' sixth-man this season. He had been averaging 20.2 points in 34 minutes of action per game.
January 31, 2009
Jason Terry hit his average of 20 points as the Mavericks defeated the Heat 111-96 in Miami on Sunday. He also contributed five rebounds, three assists, three turnovers, two threes and a steal in the game.

Our View:Not many were excited in the preseason when news leaked out that Terry was going to be a reserve for the Mavericks, but he has done an exceptional job. He is also logging 34 minutes per game - not too bad for a backup.
January 28, 2009
Jason Terry had 22 points in 24 minutes off of the bench as the Mavericks defeated the Warriors 117-93 on Wednesday. He hit 7-of-10 shots, including 3-of-4 from long distance.

Our View:Terry continues to lead the charge as the league's most valuable sixth man. He is averaging more than 20 points to go with 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
January 28, 2009
The SF Chronicle believes Mavericks' guard Jason Terry is the top candidate for the NBA Sixth Man award so far.

Our View:Terry is certainly a contender for the honor, as he averages 20.3 points, 2.5 boards, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals while serving off the bench. He also drained 95 three-pointers, and should remain productive enough to pencil into fantasy lineups.
January 25, 2009
Jason Terry scored a game-high 27 points in Sunday's 124-100 loss to the Celtics, to go along with two rebounds, two assists and two steals. He made 4-of-9 shots from three-point range.

Our View:Terry reached at least 25 points for the 14th time this season, and for the third time in January.
January 21, 2009
Jason Terry had an atrocious night on Wednesday, only making 3-of-13 shots from the field. He finished with seven points, five assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

Our View:This was probably Terry's worst game of the year, but he's rebounded strongly from his other three single digit performances this year, scoring 20+ points in two of the contests that followed those games.
January 19, 2009
Jason Terry hit 9-of-16 shots to finish with 20 points off of the bench as the Mavericks defeated the 76ers 95-93 on Monday. He chipped in four assists and four steals in the win.

Our View:Terry continues to be an exceptional fantasy player, despite playing the sixth-man role. He has to be the leading candidate for the award at this point.
January 18, 2009
Jason Terry scored 22 points, dished out five assists, and nabbed two steals in Dallas' 115-108 victory over Utah on Saturday night.

Our View:Terry shot just 12 percent from behind the arc on Saturday, which is the third time in the past seven games he has shot lower than 25 percent from three-point land.
January 14, 2009
Jason Terry came off of the bench for 28 points, but it was not enough to hold off Chris Paul and the Hornets. Terry shot 9-for-15 from the field, including 4-of-8 from three-point range.

Our View:Not many sixth-men can average 20 points per game, but that is exactly what Terry is doing this season. When Jet catches fire, he can turn a game around in a hurry.
January 4, 2009
Jason Terry scored 18 points off of the bench on Sunday as the Mavericks lost by 20 to Memphis.

Our View:Terry is averaging 22 points per game when he comes off of the bench and just 17.7 as a starter.
