Vince Carter came off the bench on Tuesday and put up a team-high 15 points in a 93-81 win over the Bobcats.

November 10, 2009
Updating a previous report, Vince Carter apparently will play in Tuesday's game despite missing the team's shootaround earlier in the day, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:He was originally expected to play, and then was ruled out, but his ankle miraculously just started feeling better. This has been a confusing situation, but it seems he's good to go for Tuesday's game. He should be safe to employ in fantasy leagues.

In a bit of a surprise, Vince Carter (ankle) will not play against the Bobcats on Tuesday, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Our View:He was originally expected to play today. This will mark the fifth game in the Magic's past six that he has missed. So far, Orlando's big offseason addition has been active for just three games.

November 7, 2009
After missing three of the Magic's past four games with an ankle injury, Vince Carter will try to play on Sunday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

November 2, 2009
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Vince Carter is expected to return from his sore left ankle in time for Tuesday's game against the Pistons.

Our View:VC was unable to move side to side as recently as Sunday. If he is not able to go near full speed during Tuesday's shootaround, don't expect him to play that night. Still, he should be in the lineup for a minimum of two games this week.
November 1, 2009
Updating a previous report, Vince Carter is not expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Raptors, according to the Twitter page of Raptors on CBC host Elliotte Friedman. Carter is still hurting from an ankle injury suffered on Friday.

Our View:Carter really wanted to play in this game, so you know his ankle must be sore. It's not worth risking further injury this early in the season, so this is probably a good move for Vince and the Magic. We will keep you further updated on his status throughout the next week.
November 1, 2009
Vince Carter is being considered a game-time decision for Sunday's afternoon contest against the Raptors, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Carter suffered an ankle injury in Friday's win over the Nets.

Our View:Carter and the Magic are going against his old team in Toronto today, so don't be shocked if he plays. The ankle isn't severely injured, but it isn't likely that he will be 100 percent for a few days. We will update his status before tip-off.

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Magic guard Vince Carter is day-to-day with an ankle injury. Carter suffered the injury in the second quarter of Friday night's win over the Nets.

Our View:X-rays on the ankle came back negative, so the team doesn't feel this injury is very serious at all. It is always a concern when a playe rlike Carter goes down, but fantasy owners should be able to utilize Vinsanity the next time out.
October 28, 2009
Vince Carter scored 15 points in his Magic debut on Wednesday night.

Our View:He played the role of a complimentary player - something he is going to have to do regularly this season if the Magic are going to get back to the NBA finals.
October 21, 2009
Vince Carter shot a perfect 12-for-12 at the free-throw line on Wednesday en route to a 21 point performance in the Magic's 117-87 win over the Pacers. Carter had five rebounds and three assists in the game.

Our View:Carter was only 4-for-12 from the field, but he made up for it at the line. He only took three shots from long range, so he looks serious about taking fewer threes this season.
October 19, 2009
Vince Carter shot the ball much better on Monday night, and he managed to score 17 points in Orlando's 101-98 win over the Bulls. Carter was 6-fr-10 from the field, and he made one of his two threes.

Our View:VC also added three rebounds and four assists tonight, and after a rough start this preseason shooting the ball he looked much better tonight. He only attempted two threes, but we still expect him to launch a healthy number from beyond the arc when the regular season begins.
October 11, 2009
The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Magic guard Vince Carter plans to try to get to the paint more after his cold shooting start. Carter is hitting only 35.4 percent of his shots from the field in the preseason, and the Magic coaches think he can do damage in the paint.

Our View:It sounds like a good idea, but Vince is a shooter and a dunker. He may try to take the ball to the rack more, but he will still launch plenty of threes and jump shots this year.
October 5, 2009
Vince Carter performed well for Orlando in Monday's 110-105 preseason win against Dallas, as he scored a team-high 21 points, with three rebounds, one assist and two steals.

June 25, 2009
Updating a previous report, the Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that the deal sending Vince Carter to Orlando in exchange for Rafer Alston, Courtney Lee, and Tony Battie has been agreed upon in principle by both teams. The deal is expected to be announced in the near future.

Our View:Carter will be a very nice addition to go along with Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson, Rashard Lewis, and Hedo Turkoglu, assuming he is re-signed. The Magic are looking to be a force in the East again next season, so everyone, including Shaq and LeBron, better watch out.
June 25, 2009
According to Yahoo! Sports, the Nets and Magic are in discussions on a trade that would send Vince Carter to the Magic in exchange for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie, and Courtney Lee. The deal is reportedly "close", and it could be announced by the end of the night.

Our View:This would be a huge trade for both teams if it does in fact go down, but right now it is best to treat this as simply a rumor until it is officially announced. Pairing Carter with Howard could be scary for the Eastern Conference, however.
April 22, 2009
Nets president Rod Thorn has not yet decided if head coach Lawrence Frank will return in 2009-10. "We shall see. We're still in the process of evaluating our season and evaluating the different things we do," Thorn informs the New York Post.

Our View:The Nets have gone 34-48 in back-to-back seasons and missed the playoffs in the weak Eastern Conference. There has been a lot of roster movement recently, and the Nets didn't have a ton of talent this past season. That could also be the case next season, as the Nets continue to clear cap room for the summer of 2010. The Nets may see if they can secure a Cavs or Heat assistant who is close to a certain superstar.
April 15, 2009
Vince Carter did not start for the Nets in Wednesday's game.

Our View:Carter was expected to play through his toe injury tonight, but changed his mind at the last minute. This is not a shock, but still frustrating.

April 11, 2009
Vince Carter poured in 27 points, grabbed two rebounds and had nine assists in the Nets 103-93 upset win over the Magic on Saturday night.

Our View:Carter was huge tonight hitting 7-of-16 from the field and an impressive 4-of-6 from behind the arc. He has been hot and cold lately though. His point totals in his last five games have been 27, 6, 33, 15 and 4.
April 8, 2009
Vince Carter scored 33 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and handed out five assists while hitting 5-of-9 from three-point range. Despite the strong performance, the Nets fell 106-104 to Boston.

Our View:Carter had struggled some since moving to small forward, but he clearly figured things out tonight against Boston. He also was a crucial element in holding Paul Pierce to just 10 points on the night.
April 5, 2009
Vince Carter scored a game-high 15 points in Sunday's win over the Sixers. He had five rebounds and four assists.

Our View:Vince got 33+ minutes in tonight's game, when it was thought that he might see reduced playing time because of a sore Achilles. He made the most of it and was the top scorer in a low-scoring affair.
April 4, 2009
The AP reports that Vince Carter's sore Achilles played a big factor in his poor performance against the Bulls on Saturday. The guard was limited to just four points on 2-for-10 shooting in 28 minutes of action as the Nets lost 103-94.

Our View:Carter still intends to play against Philadelphia on Sunday, but with the playoffs virtually out of reach for the Nets, he could be in danger of being shut down.
March 30, 2009
Vince Carter finished with nine points and three rebounds on 3-for-11 shooting as the Nets fell 107-78 to the Bucks on Monday. He played just 26 minutes in the blowout.

March 29, 2009
Vince Carter scored a game-high 36 points on 14-of-23 shooting in Sunday's win over the Timberwolves.

March 27, 2009
Vince Carter led the Nets with 20 points on Friday as they fell to the Lakers. He recorded seven rebounds and three assists as well.

Vince Carter led the Nets with 20 points, but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Cavs 98-87 on Wednesday. He added four rebounds and five assists as well.

Our View:Carter's line tonight was pretty much on par with his season stats, but he missed a lot of shots. He was only 7-of-21 from the field and 3-of-9 from behind the arc. Typically Carter doesn't miss that much.
March 24, 2009

Our View:Vince won't miss a chance to get owned by LeBron James. Fantasy owners can continue to use him.
March 22, 2009
Vince Carter played 43 minutes against the Cavs in a 96-88 loss on Sunday. The shooting guard finished with 25 points, nine rebounds, five assists, a block, and no turnovers.

Our View:Carter is carrying much more of the offensive load without Devin Harris in the lineup. He is averaging nearly 25 points per game in the month of March.
March 18, 2009
Vince Carter scored 29 points in the Nets victory Wednesday night. He was 11-of-16 from the field and 5-of-9 from three-point range.

Our View:Carter is still a fantasy stud as he has topped 25 points six times already this month. He's averaging over 21 points a game on the season. Start him and don't look back.
March 16, 2009
Without Devin Harris in the lineup, Vince Carter tried to will the Nets to a victory on Monday. However his 32 points, four rebounds, and three assists were not enough as the Nets lost in Denver 121-96.

Our View:Carter had 41 on Sunday, and this season has proved that he still has plenty of fight left in his tank. He hit 13-of-23 from the field tonight, including 5-of-10 from three-point range, despite drawing the focus of the Nuggets defense.
March 15, 2009

March 8, 2009
Vince Carter scored 25 points in 41 minutes Sunday at IZOD Center in a 106-101 victory over the Knicks.

March 6, 2009
Vince Carter shot just 8-of-23 from the field Friday night and finished New Jersey's 105-102 loss to Orlando with 19 points.

March 4, 2009
Vince Carter hit 13-of-21 shots and finished with 34 points and four assists in the Nets 115-111 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday. He was 5-of-8 from the foul line.

Our View:After a terrible February, Carter has gotten off to a hot start in March. Look for him to continue his aggressive play as the Nets make an improbable run for the playoffs.
March 1, 2009
Vince Carter scored 26 points on Sunday to go with three rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal.

Our View:Carter hasn't been shooting well lately and this was the first time in five games that he has scored 20+ points in a game.
February 25, 2009
Vince Carter was held to 4-of-14 shooting, but finished Wednesday's win over the Bulls with 11 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.

Our View:For the second straight game, Carter took a backseat to Harris. However, this time he was still able to have a positive contribution. Look for Carter to bust out of this slump in the near future.
February 23, 2009
Vince Carter took just 11 shots and finished with only 10 points, but the Nets were able to beat the 76ers behind 39 points from Devin Harris on Monday. He had five rebounds, five turnovers, and three assists in the win.

Our View:Carter has hit 18-of-49 from the field over his last three games. He's playing as many minutes, but he has not been as aggressive on offense of late. Expect him to pick up the pace as long as the Nets are in the playoff hunt.
February 18, 2009
Vince Carter finished with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block on Wednesday in what could be his last game as a Net.

February 15, 2009
CBSSports.com reports that at least six teams have inquired about the availability Vince Carter.

Our View:Carter is enjoying a nice season while leading a young corps of players, but he has been getting nicked up a lot recently. Currently, the Nets hold a record good enough to make the playoffs, so they may elect to hold onto their leader.
February 13, 2009
According to the Sporting News, San Antonio is the frontrunner to acquired the services of Vince Carter. The Spurs are reportedly willing to deal for the Nets forward as long as they don't have to part ways with Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, or Tony Parker.

Our View:The most likely candidate to leave the Spurs would be guard Roger Mason, who is shooting better than 44 percent from behind the arc this season. Another potential factor in this deal would be Carter's salary, which exceeds $30 million over the next two seasons.
February 12, 2009
Yahoo Sports is reporting that New Jersey and Dallas have discussed a trade, which is not imminent, that would send Vince Carter, Kenyon Dooling, and Eduardo Najera to the Mavericks for Josh Howard and Jerry Stackhouse.

February 11, 2009
Nets GM Rod Thorn said that the team does not plan on trading Vince Carter before the February 19 deadline, according to NetsDaily.com. The Nets are currently tied for eighth in the Eastern Conference and could be buyers during this trade season.

February 10, 2009
Vince Carter scored a team-high 25 points on 11-of-25 shooting Tuesday night as the Nets dropped a 108-93 decision to the Spurs at IZOD Center.

February 10, 2009
Vince Carter hopes to play tonight against the Spurs, according to the Associated Press. He missed Sunday's game with a hyperextended right elbow.

February 7, 2009
Vince Carter shot 5-of-10 from the field and finished with 12 points, eight assists, three rebounds, and three steals as the Nets defeated the Nuggets 114-70 on Saturday.

Our View:Carter should recover from his physical issues but may struggle from time to time until the injury fully heals. Even with his shooting problems, Carter played very well on Tuesday.
February 3, 2009
Vince Carter didn't practice on Monday but said he will play Tuesday night against Milwaukee, according to the New York Daily News. Carter has been hobbled by a bad ankle and re-aggravated the injury against the Sixers on Saturday.

Our View:By no means are we doubting the athletic ability of a Vince Carter, but tonight's game may be a case in which to sit the star forward. It was reported that his ankle was heavily taped on Monday, which isn't a great sign that is likely to improve against the Bucks.
February 2, 2009
The New York Daily News reports that Vince Carter intends to play in Tuesday's game against Milwaukee after injuring his right ankle against Philadelphia on Saturday.

Our View:Carter is using the fact that he will be playing against his old teammate, Bucks forward Richard Jefferson, as a bit of motivation to return to the court. Or could it be that the Nets are barely holding on to their playoff lives?
January 31, 2009

January 21, 2009
Vince Carter posted 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in Wednesday's 102-92 loss to the Hornets.

Our View:Carter had been struggling lately, posting totals of four and five points in two of his last three games prior to Wednesday's contest. However, this 20-point game might be a sign that he's heating up.
January 18, 2009
Vince Carter was benched for the entire second half of Saturday's 105-85 loss to the Boston Celtics as coach Lawrence Frank, embarrassed by his team's play, chose to go in a different direction. The swingman finished the first half, and the game, with just five points on 2-of-8 shooting. He played just 14 minutes.

Our View:Apparently the benching was not related to the sore ankle he suffered on Wednesday. Carter owners endured a rough week for the typically excellent guard. He totaled a mere 22 points in three games. He is averaging 21.5 points per game this season.
January 15, 2009

January 12, 2009

January 2, 2009
The NBA has finished looking into the matter of what referee Derrick Stafford said to Vince Carter that caused Carter to go ballistic, and no action will be taken, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Our View:A press release from the league stated that Stafford said the word "boy", but not in a way that was meant to be insulting. Carter also wants to move on, so the situation is over.
January 2, 2009
Vince Carter was ejected from the Nets' game on Wednesday, but the NBA will look into the matter because Carter apparently thought referee Derrick Stafford called him a "boy," the New York Daily News.
