November 21, 2009
Al Harrington came off the bench on Saturday and scored a team-high 17 points in a 98-91 win over New Jersey.

Our View:Harrington had eight rebounds in the game as well, and even though he didn't start he still managed over 31 minutes in the contest. He's started just two games this season, but is averaging 31 minutes of playing time and has topped 20 points five times (including a season-high of 42).
November 18, 2009
Al Harrington scored a team-high 26 points off the bench in Wednesday's 110-103 win at Indiana. He also chipped in five rebounds and a steal.

Our View:Harrington is having a fine campaign in New York, as he topped 20 points for the fifth time.
November 11, 2009
Al Harrington looked good in tonight's 114-101 loss to the Hawks, as he racked up 23 points, 12 boards, three assists and three steals.

Our View:Harrington picked up his first double-double of the season, and topped 20 points for the third time.
November 4, 2009
Al Harrington came off the bench to have another big night on Wednesday in the Knicks' loss to the Pacers. Harrington scored 22 points, he had nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocked shots.

Our View:Harrington has been a bit more well-rounded to start this season, much to his fantasy owners' delight. The scoring is there consistently, but his value is rising thanks to his ability to grab a few boards, get a few steals and block a few shots.
November 2, 2009
Al Harrington did a little bit of everything on Monday as the Knicks defeated the Hornets 117-111. Harrington scored 24 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished two assists, and added a steal and a blocked shot.

Our View:We know Harrington can score, but the other contributions tonight were very nice for owners. His 8-for-21 shooting wasn't great, but owners will take an outing like this any time.
November 1, 2009
Al Harrington has been fined $25,000 for criticizing the refs after Friday's overtime loss to the Bobcats, according to a press release.

Our View:Harrington went off for 42 points the following night. He doesn't provide a whole lot of production aside from points, but he should average more than 20 per game once again this season.
October 31, 2009
Al Harrington poured in 42 points on Saturday night, but still couldn't stop the Knicks from losing 141-127 to the 76ers in overtime.

Our View:The 42 points were a career-high for the 12-year veteran. As long as he is in Mike D'Antoni's high-octane offensive system, he will remain a solid fantasy option at forward.
October 25, 2009
According to Newsday, Knicks Coach Mike D'Antoni has named Al Harrington as an opening day starter.

Our View:Harrington led the Knicks in scoring last season while coming off the bench and should see similar time this year regardless of getting the starting nod. He averaged 34.9 minutes and 20.1 points per games in 2008-09.
October 13, 2009
Al Harrington fared well in Tuesday's 93-85 preseason loss to the Sixers, as he scored a team-high 18 points, with four rebounds, one steal and two blocks. He played 29 minutes.

Our View:Harrington proved to be a good fit with New York last season, and averaged a career-best 20.1 points per game. He looks to be headed for another solid season, evidenced by tonight's performance.
October 4, 2009
Al Harrington led all scorers with 23 points in Sunday's 115-107 preseason win over the Nets.

Our View:He was 9-of-11 from the field and nailed down 3-of-4 from behind the arc on Sunday. Add five rebounds and an assist and the man who averaged 20+ PPG last season had a very nice preseason showing.
April 12, 2009
Al Harrington finished Sunday's 112-105 loss to the Heat with 21 points, six rebounds, three assists, two three-pointers, a steal, and a block.

Our View:The performance was a tick above average for Harrington this season. He has the option of opting out of his contract this summer, but the Knicks would not likely be interested in re-signing him for anything more than a one-year deal.
April 10, 2009
Al Harrington led all scorers in the Knicks 105-95 win over the Magic with 27 points. He also chipped in with six rebounds and four assists.

Our View:Harrington has now produced 27, 26 and 23 point nights, respectively, since his disappointing 12 point outing on April 5th. He looks to be back on track.
April 8, 2009
Al Harrington scored a game-high 26 points to go with six rebounds, four three-pointers, four steals, and three assists in the Knicks' 113-86 loss to the Pistons on Wednesday.

Our View:Harrington has scored at least 22 points in five of his last six games. He scored 12 points in the other, which, interestingly enough, was the only Knicks win during that stretch.
April 5, 2009
Al Harrington was good for 12 points and ten rebounds in Sunday's 112-103 win over the Raptors. He made good on five of his ten shots from the field.

Our View:He only scored 12 points, but this was Harrington's first double-double since March 4th. He's averaging over six rebounds a game this season, but his strength lies in his shot. He's averaging just over 20 points per game.
April 4, 2009
Al Harrington chipped in 22 points and seven rebounds in Saturday's 102-95 loss to the Raptors. He also had one assist and two steals.

Our View:He averages 23 points over his last three games, but the Knicks did not have any wins over the span.
March 30, 2009
Al Harrington led the Knicks with 24 points as the Knicks fell to the Jazz 112-104 on Monday. He had three rebounds, three steals and eight turnovers while hitting 2-of-10 from three-point range.

Our View:Harrington's tendency to fall in love with the three-pointer is often his downfall. That and some very poor decision making. Regardless, he has provided good fantasy value this season given the spot that his fantasy owners most likely drafted him at last fall.
March 27, 2009
Al Harrington was good for 23 points, eight rebounds and two assists on Friday night in the Knicks win over the Hornets.

Our View:Harrington shot well, going 7-of-15 from the field, 5-of-11 from behind the arc and a perfect 4-of-4 from the line.
March 26, 2009
Al Harrington scored 38 points for the Knicks, but he hung on the rim too long after a dunk, and got a technical foul, allowing the Clippers to get an extra free throw and ultimately tie the game in regulation, and win it in overtime, according to the New York Post. "If it happened to any other team, I'd be laughing," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said.

Our View:The worst part is, this is not the first time Harrington has done this. He did the same thing, also against the Clippers, in February, leading to overtime and a loss.
March 25, 2009
Al Harrington, who had gone cold of late, erupted for 38 points against the hapless Clippers on Wednesday. Still, the Knicks managed to lose 140-135 in overtime. Harrington accounted for seven rebounds and four three-pointers on 13-of-21 shooting in the loss.

Our View:Harrington had gone more than a month without crossing the 30-point barrier. Given his role in Mike D'Antoni's offense, that's rather sad. Hopefully for his fantasy owners he can finish the season with a bang. That would not be a surprise as Harrington tends to play far better in games that don't matter rather than those that do.
March 21, 2009
Updating a previous report, Al Harrington started at center Saturday. His injured Achilles tendon was apparently calm enough to start.

Our View:Harrington is decent fantasy option when he starts, but could have a rough night as he is going up against Dwight Howard.
March 21, 2009
Al Harrington is questionable for Saturday's game against Orlando due to a sore left Achilles' tendon, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:He would be worth starting in fantasy lineups if given the green light to play, as he racked up 26 points and seven boards in his last meeting with the Magic.
March 18, 2009
Al Harrington was able to play Wednesday night and led the Knicks in scoring with 21 points. He also pulled down five rebounds.

Our View:Harrington was accurate tonight going 10-of-16 from the field and added a three-pointer to boot. He is a solid fantasy starter.
March 18, 2009
Al Harrington is questionable for tonight's home game against the Nets with an ankle injury, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Harrington chipped in 14 points in his last match-up against New Jersey. The team did not speculate whether he will go tonight.
March 15, 2009
Al Harrington scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Knicks fell to the Cavaliers 98-93 on Sunday. He was 5-for-12 from three-point range.

Our View:Given the amount of threes he attempts, you would think that Harrington was among the better perimeter shooters in the league. However, he is shooting a modest 36.2 percent from that range.
February 23, 2009
Al Harrington had 27 points and seven rebounds as the Knicks defeated the Pacers 123-119 on Monday. He was 10-of-20 from the field and 3-of-10 from three-point range.

Our View:Harrington continues to chuck threes even though he is only hitting about 36 percent of them. He is 12-of-37 from long distance over his last five games.
February 22, 2009
Al Harrington scored a team-high 31 points on Sunday in a 111-100 loss to the Raptors. He also chipped in seven rebounds, one steal, and one block.

Our View:This was the sixth time that Harrington has scored 30+ points this year since he joined the Knicks over 41 games with New York.
February 11, 2009
There seems to be no love lost between former Warriors forward and current Knick Al Harrington and his coach in Golden State, Don Nelson, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. After Nelson accused Harrington of simply playing for a contract, Harrington responded, and talked about current Warriors forwards Anthony Randolph and Brandan Wright by saying, "He's been known to ruin guys' careers. So, hopefully that doesn't happen to them. ... it's hard enough playing your opponent every night. And when you know you've got to play mind games against your coach, too, it's not worth it to me."

Our View:Harrington played in just eight games with the Warriors before being dealt to the Knicks. He's having his best month with the team in February, averaging 26.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
February 11, 2009
Forward Al Harrington scored 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, as the Knicks fell to the Warriors 144-127 at ORACLE Arena on Tuesday.

Our View:At times it seems the underrated Harrington gets overshadowed by teammate David Lee, who is second in the league in double-doubles, but Harrington has not been without his own accomplishments. He has scored in double figures in 37 of his last 38 games.
February 6, 2009
Al Harrington scored a game-high 27 points on Friday to go with five assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

Our View:Harrington has now scored 24+ points in his last four games, well above his season average of 20 points-per-game.
February 4, 2009
Al Harrington had his best game of the season, but the Knicks still fell 107-102 to Cleveland on Wednesday. Harrington finished with 39 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 16-of-24 from the field.

Our View:Harrington has played very well of late. He is averaging 31.3 points over his last three games while shooting as good as he has all season. Can he keep up the strong play throughout the rest of the season? It won't be consistent, but the averages are going to look very good by the end of the season.
February 4, 2009
Al Harrington sat out practice yesterday while nursing a sore knee, but is probable for tonight's home game against Cleveland, according to Newsday.

Our View:Harrington poured in 20 points with seven boards in his last meeting with the Cavaliers, and is worth penciling into lineups despite his ailing knee.
February 2, 2009
Al Harrington scored 24 points in 34 minutes as the Knicks fell to the Lakers 126-117 on Monday. He was 7-for-16 from the field and 2-for-6 from three-point range.

Our View:Harrington had endured a stretch of underwhelming performances prior to his 31 point outburst on Saturday. Enjoy the run while it lasts, as another poor shooting stretch is probably not far away.
January 31, 2009
Al Harrington had his best game of the month as the Knicks defeated the Pacers 122-113 on the road on Saturday. He finished the game with 31 points, eight rebounds, and three treys.

Our View:Harrington spent a good portion of the month as a reserve, but he appears to be cemented back in coach Mike D'Antoni's starting five. He will continue to battle inconsistency, but he should be a 20 point per game scorer for the remainder of the season.
January 17, 2009
Al Harrington came off the pine to lead the Knicks in scoring Saturday night, but his 26 points were not enough as New York fell 107-97 to Philadelphia.

Our View:Harrington has absolutely feasted against teams from the Atlantic Division this season, scoring an average of more than 26 points a game in seven contests.
January 14, 2009
Al Harrington scored 27 points off of the bench as the Knicks erupted for 128 points in four quarters against Washington. He shot 8-for-12 from the field, including 4-for-6 from three-point range.

Our View:It appears that coach Mike D'Antoni is committed to bringing Harrington off of the bench, and Harrington has responded well. His production has not taken a hit despite his minutes sliding slightly. This type of effort has rarely been seen from Harrington. Apparently he understands that he can opt out of the final year of his contract at season's end.
January 4, 2009
Al Harrington hit five three-pointers and finished with 30 points and seven rebounds as the Knicks beat the Celtics 100-88 on Sunday.

Our View:Harrington came off of the bench for the fourth straight game, but it appears coach Mike D'Antoni is still willing to let him loose when he's in the zone. He could find his way back into the starting lineup soon.
January 2, 2009
Al Harrington will once again come off the bench for the Knicks, with Jared Jeffries getting the start, mostly for defensive purposes, according to the New York Post.

Our View:Harrington is scoring nearly 20 points per game, but Jeffries is seen as the superior defensive player. Nonetheless, Harrington will continue to be a player fantasy owners can count on.
