Dirk Nowitzki scored 28 points, but failed to do much of anything else as the Mavericks lost by 20 in Memphis on Sunday. He also had three rebounds and three assists.

Our View:Nowitzki's scoring has been rising ever since a mild November. He has just seven total rebounds in his last two games.

Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 31 points in Friday's 96-86 win over the Sixers, with four rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks.

Our View:The elite forward reached at least 30 points for the 10th time this season, while leading the Mavericks to their third straight win.

Dirk Nowitzki, who was recently suspended because of a tussle with Jazz forward Matt Harpring, said he'll start to prepare differently when the Mavericks go to Utah, according to NBA.com. "It's more than coincidence, I'd say. I just have to do a better job of keeping my head. That's how they play there. They don't call a lot of fouls there. Ever since Sloan took over that's how they play there," said Nowitzki.

Our View:It's funny that Dirk would say, "Ever since Sloan took over." Sloan started as head coach of the Jazz in 1988, and Nowitzki was a child living in Germany.
