According to the Miami Herald, Paul Pierce (knee) returned to practice on Tuesday.

Our View:Pierce missed yesterday's practice and was expected to be out today as well, so it was a pleasant surprise that he returned early. He played through the injury on Saturday and with his early return, one would assume he'll be ready to return to game action on Wednesday. It's probably best to check on him again before tip off though.
November 16, 2009
Paul Pierce (left knee sprain) is questionable for the Celtics' game against the Warriors on Wednesday, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:He will not practice on Tuesday. Pierce already played through the injury on Saturday (something coach Doc Rivers now calls a mistake), so it's hard to envision him sitting out on Wednesday. Check back, but expect him to play.

Paul Pierce put up 24 points for the Celtics on Friday, but it wasn't enough as they fell 97-86 to the Hawks.

Our View:Pierce had three rebounds and two assists in the game as well, but it was his shooting that stood out for the Celtics. He hit eight of his 16 shots from the field, but missed on all four attempts from three-point land. The 24 points were six above his season average.

November 7, 2009
Paul Pierce led the Celtics in scoring on Saturday as Boston defeated the Nets 86-76. Pierce had 16 points to go along with his seven assists in the win.

Our View:Pierce didn't grab a rebound tonight, which is a bit surprising considering he was averaging 5.6 boards per game entering the contest. Boston didn't play well as a team tonight, but they were still good enough to beat the lowly Nets.
November 3, 2009

May 19, 2009
Paul Pierce has been dealing with bone spurs in his ankle, and may require surgery for the ailment, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Pierce had three rebounds, six assists and three steals in the game to go along with his 27. However, he was just 6-of-15 shooting and only hit one of his three attempts from downtown. Still, anything was an improvement on his three total point showing in Game Two.
May 5, 2009
Paul Pierce did his part on Monday, but the Celtics lost Game 1 to the Magic 95-90. Pierce had 23 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Our View:Pierce was good, but with no Kevin Garnett and an off night by Ray Allen, it wasn't enough. The Celtics will need both Pierce and Allen to come up huge in this series if the they are going to stay alive in these playoffs.
May 4, 2009
Paul Pierce is not concerned that the Celtics will be drained for Round 2 against the Magic following a brutal seven-game battle with the Bulls, according to the Boston Globe. Pierce said, "Well, it is similar to last year. I mean, we never got a break in the playoff series last year. For me, I would rather keep playing, anyway. I think you get three, four days off, you kind of lose it a little bit. Hey, just like the regular season - you play every other day."

April 26, 2009
Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 29 points in their double-overtime loss to the Bulls on Sunday. The veteran added seven rebounds, two steals, and one assist. He shot 9-of-24 from the floor.

Paul Pierce had a game-high 24 points in the Celtics' 107-86 win over the Bulls on Thursday. Boston now leads the series two games to one.

Paul Pierce scored 23 points in Saturday's 105-103 overtime loss to the Bulls at TD Banknorth Garden. He also notched seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. He shot 8-for-21 from the court.

April 14, 2009
Paul Pierce had a game-high 31 points as the Celtics nipped the Sixers on Tuesday 100-98. The Celtic superstar also totaled three assists, two steals and a blocked shot.

Our View:Pierce was accurate on Tuesday, hitting 12-of-16 from the field and an eye-popping 7-of-9 from downtown. Tonight's contest is only the second time though that he has topped 30 points since March 19th.

March 27, 2009
Paul Pierce scored 21 points in the Celtics victory on Friday night. He had five assists and four rebounds to compliment his scoring.

March 25, 2009
Paul Pierce had 26 points in the Celtics 84-82 loss to the Magic on Wednesday. He had seven rebounds and four turnovers while shooting 10-of-23 in 44 minutes of action.

Our View:Pierce had failed to hit double digits in his last three games, so it was nice to see him make an effort tonight. Kevin Garnett was held to just 17 minutes in the win, and you have to think his return to 100 percent will eventually cut back into Pierce's shot opportunities.
March 23, 2009
Paul Pierce scored just nine points on 3-of-7 shooting Monday as Boston took care of the hapless Clippers 90-77.

Our View:Pierce has now scored fewer than 10 points in three straight games. He failed to reach double digits in points just five times all of last season.
March 21, 2009
Paul Pierce had only six points on Saturday. He was 2-of-6 from the field and 0-for-2 in three-point attempts.

March 17, 2009
Paul Pierce scored 37 points and added seven rebounds in a losing effort Tuesday night. He was 13-of-24 shooting.

March 13, 2009
Paul Pierce scored 17 points and handed out five assists as the Celtics eased by the Grizzlies 102-92 Friday night at TD Banknorth Garden.

Our View:Pierce has taken considerably fewer shots the past three games, which has resulted in sub-20-point performances and a two-game losing streak. In Boston's three contests from Mar. 1-6, Pierce attempted 56 field goals, and the Celtics were 2-1. However, the Celtics have lost two of three since then, while Pierce has attempted only 37 shots.
March 8, 2009
Paul Pierce contributed 16 points, eight boards and three assists in Sunday's 86-79 loss to Orlando.

March 6, 2009
Paul Pierce narrowly missed a double-double Friday evening, scoring 29 points and dishing out nine assists in the Celtics' 105-94 win over the Cavaliers.

March 1, 2009
Paul Pierce scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down six boards in Boston's 105-95 home loss to Detroit Sunday afternoon.

February 28, 2009
Paul Pierce intends to play through his dislocated thumb, but admitted that the ailment hindered him in Friday's game against the Pacers, according to the Boston Globe. He said, "I was a little hesitant, and its probably going to take a few days or a week for me getting over the fact that I have seen my bone or my joint come all the way out. February 11, 2009
Paul Pierce scored 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting as the Celtics defeated the Hornets 89-77 on Wednesday.

Our View:Pierce was picking up some of the slack for Ray Allen who exited the game early with a hyperextended thumb. Expect more of the same in the Celtics game on Thursday.
February 8, 2009
Paul Pierce contributed 19 points, eight boards, two assists, one steal and one block in Sunday's 105-99 loss to San Antonio.

Our View:Pierce performed on par with his season averages, and fantasy owners should be pleased with his performance. He is averaging 26.2 points over his last five games.
February 7, 2009
Celtics coach Doc Rivers has been fined $15,000 for his criticism of the officials following his team's recent loss to the Lakers, according to the Boston Globe.

Paul Pierce was great again for the Celtics, who were playing without Kevin Garnett (flu), hitting 10-of-23 from the field and finishing with 29 points in their 100-99 victory over the 76ers.

Our View:With Garnett out, Pierce has shown his ability to carry the Celtics and has really helped fantasy owners with his recent hot streak.
February 1, 2009
Paul Pierce stepped it up for the Celtics as they were playing without Kevin Garnett (flu) on Sunday against Minnesota. The Truth hit 13-of-24 shots, including a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe, to finish with 36 points. He also had eight rebounds and six assists in the 109-101 victory.

Our View:Pierce has shown the ability to amp up his production when he it is needed. Most of his best games come against the league's best competition, but he was leaned on heavily today without KG in the lineup.
January 30, 2009
Paul Pierce recorded 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one steal in Friday's win over the Pistons.
