Tim Duncan did his part on Thursday, but the Spurs still fell to the Jazz 90-83. Duncan scored 21 points and hauled in nine rebounds in the game.

Our View:Duncan was good tonight, but the team just couldn't make up for the loss of Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. As long as Timmy can stay healthy, he should remain a very good fantasy forward all season.
November 18, 2009
Tim Duncan fared well in Wednesday's 99-94 OT loss at Dallas, as he tallied 22 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and four blocks.

Our View:Duncan scored 22 points in back-to-back games, and has three double-doubles over his last four outings. The 33-year-old vet should remain a solid fantasy power forward as long as he remains intact.
November 14, 2009
Tim Duncan recorded a double-double in Saturday's 101-98 loss to Oklahoma City, with a team-high 22 points and 10 boards. He also had three assists and two blocks.

November 13, 2009
Ben Hunt reports via Twitter that Tim Duncan (ankle) practiced on Friday and is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Thunder.

Our View:Coach Greg Popovich didn't offer much as to whether Duncan would make it into Saturday's game, so consider him a game-time decision. Be sure to check his status before tip-off.
November 10, 2009
According to the San Antonio Express-News, Tim Duncan (ankle) did not practice on Tuesday and is doubtful for Wednesday's contest.

Our View:Duncan missed Monday's game due to the injury, and while the MRI showed no structural damage, he's still not ready to go. Don't expect to see him until Saturday's game against the Thunder at the earliest.
November 9, 2009
Spurs' big man Tim Duncan will miss Monday night's game against the Raptors with an ankle injury, according to ESPN.com. An MRI on the ankle showed no structural damage.

Our View:The ankle was swollen a bit today, so Duncan will be on the bench with point guard Tony Parker. The team will be extremely short-handed in tonight's contest, and fantasy owners will need to adjust their lineups for both Duncan and Parker.
November 6, 2009
Tim Duncan had a productive day on Thursday grabbing 13 boards and draining 15 points, but it wasn't enough as the Spurs fell to the Jazz 113-99.

Our View:Duncan had a pair of assists and three blocked shots in the game as well. He hit 5-of-10 shots and now posted double-digit rebound totals in every game this season. The double-double was his second of the year and there are sure to be plenty more on the way.
October 29, 2009
Tim Duncan racked up a game-high 28 points and 16 rebounds in Thursday's 92-85 loss at Chicago. He also chipped in two assists, two steals and three blocks.

Our View:Duncan bounced back well for fantasy owners, after only scoring nine points in the Spurs' season opener against New Orleans.
October 28, 2009
Tim Duncan scored just nine points in the Spurs' regular season debut on Wednesday night.

Our View:San Antonio routed the Hornets, but it was still alarming to see Duncan's low point total. The Spurs want to try and limit his minutes this year, so it's very possible he won't come all that close to his 19.3 points per game from 2008-09.
October 23, 2009
Tim Duncan recorded a double-double in Friday's 114-112 preseason loss to Indiana, with 15 points and 11 rebounds. He also had six assists and a block, and played 22:43 minutes.

Our View:The 33-year-old vet appears to be in good shape, and should be in store for another solid season if he can stay healthy.
October 11, 2009
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Spurs decided not to bring Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili on their trip to Miami for Sunday's exhibition against the Heat. Duncan is being brought along slowly by the team due to knee problems and Ginobili is coming off last season's ankle surgery.

Our View:This San Antonio-Miami exhibition is going to be must-see TV. No Duncan, Ginobili, Wade, O'Neal, or Richardson should make for some entertaining preseason basketball. All kidding aside, the Spurs are beng very cautious with Duncan this season, and they want to keep him as healthy as possible by resting him on days like these and limiting his minutes a bit when he does play. He is still a very good NBA player, but he is not quite the fantasy force he used to be in his younger days.
September 27, 2009
The Spurs plan on limiting Tim Duncan's minutes to around 32 per game in 2009-10, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Our View:Duncan, though he has missed only 11 games the past two seasons, has battled knee problems. He is 15 pounds lighter this season, which he hopes will help reduce the wear and tear on them. The limited minutes are part of this plan, as well. In 75 games last season, he averaged 19.3 points and 10.7 points per game.
April 29, 2009
Tim Duncan had a team-high 30 points and eight rebounds, but the Spurs fell short again on Tuesday and were eliminated in the first round by the Mavericks. They fell 106-93 in Game Five in San Antonio.

Our View:Duncan hit an impressive 14-of-21 shots and blocked two shots, but the Spurs just found themselves trailing all series. This was Duncan's best point total of the series, but he likely didn't notice as he's more concerned with going home early.
April 18, 2009
Tim Duncan had a game-high 27 points in a losing effort on Saturday as the Spurs fell to the Mavericks 105-97. They lost a crucial game at home and are now down 1-0 in the series.

Our View:Duncan did all he could in this one, but the Mavs were just too much. To go along with his 27 points he had nine rebounds and two assists, and hit an impressive 13-of-24 shots from the field.
April 15, 2009
Tim Duncan scored 20 points to compliment his gaudy rebound total of 19 on Wednesday as the Spurs beat the Hornets 105-98 in overtime. Duncan had six assists as well.

Our View:What a night for Duncan. This was his highest rebounding total of the season and the fact the he added 20 points made it even more sweet for fantasy owners. The sore knees weren't a factor in tonight's game.
April 13, 2009
Tim Duncan sat out Sunday's game to rest his sore knees, but he is expected to play tonight at Golden State, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Duncan racked up 21 points and 10 boards in his last battle with the Warriors, and should be fine to employ in fantasy lineups for tonight.
April 12, 2009
The San Antonio Express-News reports that Tim Duncan will sit out Sunday's game against the Kings due to soreness in his knees. Drew Gooden will start in his place.

Our View:The Kings come as the first game in a back-to-back situation with the Warriors coming tomorrow. If the Spurs win tonight, they could still be in line for the No. 3 seed and Duncan would likely give it a go tomorrow. However if they fall in Sacramento, they may rest him until Game 1 of the first round.
April 10, 2009

Tim Duncan played in the second half of a back-to-back for the first time in weeks, but the Spurs still fell at home to Portland on Wednesday. Duncan finished with only four points, five rebounds, two steals, and a block on 2-of-8 shooting in 24 minutes of action.

Our View:Duncan's knees have drastically limited him in the past month and fantasy owners need to keep this in mind come next season's draft. It would seem unlikely that Duncan attempts to play both parts of back-to-backs going forward.
April 8, 2009
Tim Duncan scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed 15 boards on Tuesday to lead the Spurs to a 99-89 victory on the road at Oklahoma City.

Our View:Despite his solid performance against the Thunder, Duncan may either play sparingly or sit out against Portland on Wednesday because of his persistent sore knees.
April 3, 2009
Tim Duncan scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Friday night to lead the Spurs to a 126-121 win over the Pacers.

March 31, 2009

March 29, 2009
Tim Duncan scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds Sunday as the Spurs dropped a 90-86 decision at New Orleans.

Our View:Duncan had a solid game against the Hornets, and he'll get a deserved rest this coming week, as the Spurs don't play until Friday after hosting the Thunder on Tuesday. Duncan, who has been told to sit out the latter half of back-to-back games, should only miss one more game this season due to his sore knees. That would be April 8 against Portland.
March 25, 2009
Updating a previous report, the San Antonio Express-News notes that Tim Duncan will miss Wednesday's game against the Hawks to rest his sore knees.

Our View:Drew Gooden should finally see some good minutes in his place. The Spurs noted last week that Duncan would miss the second half of back-to-backs, and it appears they meant it. It may be safest to bench Duncan in such circumstances for the remainder of the season.
March 25, 2009
Tim Duncan (knees/rest) is questionable for tonight's game against Atlanta, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Hopefully Duncan will play, as he racked up 19 points, 11 boards and a block in his last meeting with the Hawks. We will keep you posted on his status.
March 24, 2009
Tim Duncan was his usual efficient self on Tuesday. He took only nine shots against the Warriors but still managed 21 points thanks to an 11-for-13 effort at the line. Duncan added 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal.

Our View:We wish Timmy shot like that from the line more often. He is fighting through sore knees, but it's a very good bet that we'll continue to see regular double-doubles when the playoffs roll around.
March 24, 2009
Big man Tim Duncan will likely sit out against the Hawks on Wednesday night in order to rest his sore knees, the San Antonio Express-News surmises.

March 16, 2009
Tim Duncan had 14 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks as the Spurs fell to the Thunder 78-76 on Monday.

Our View:Duncan has four straight double-doubles, but he has not scored 20 points since February 17. The Spurs are 5-5 in their last 10, and Duncan needs to pick up his offense until Ginobili can get back in the lineup.
March 10, 2009
Tim Duncan scored his second straight double-double for Spurs in their 100-86 win over the Bobcats on Tuesday.

Our View:While his 18 points and 11 rebounds are not overwhelming, his reliability is unreal for fantasy owners. He has double-doubles in four of his last five games.
March 7, 2009
Tim Duncan scored a season-low five points to go along with five rebounds in San Antonio's 100-78 win over Washington.

Our View:You have to wonder whether Duncan's performance Friday night was more of a product of the blowout or a matter of his troublesome quad muscle flaring up at the end of a four-game-in-six-day stretch.
March 3, 2009
Tim Duncan had 18 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two blocks in the Spurs beat the Clippers 106-78 on Monday.

March 1, 2009
Tim Duncan was limited to just 14 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists on Sunday in a 102-84 loss to the Blazers. He only played 26 minutes due to the game getting out of hand pretty quickly.
