Our View:Nash did have seven turnovers, but people have no problem looking past that number when you dish out 20 assists. He is an early MVP candidate of the season, and he is usually good four double-digit points and assists almost every night.
November 8, 2009
Steve Nash dished out 17 assists as the Suns won again on Sunday, beating the Wizards 102-90.

Our View:Nash was averaging 21.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game heading into tonight, so this is a huge disappointment for fantasy owners. Expect him to bounce back in his next outing, as he has proven that he has plenty of talent left in that 35-year-old body.

Our View:Nash's night like this is pretty typical, which is why he has been a fantasy force for many years. The points are there, and so are the assists. He doesn't look like he has slowed down a bit, and he looks like a sure bet for fantasy production again this season.
July 20, 2009
Steve Nash and the Suns have agreed to a two-year, $22 million contact extension, according to ESPN.

Our View:The extension will kick in after Nash's current deal ends after this season, which is paying him $13.1 million in 2009-10. While not the force he was a few years ago, Nash remains a top-flight point guard, and shouldn't fall much further than the middle rounds of your draft.
July 10, 2009

Our View:Terms of the potential deal are not yet clear, although they're expected to be in the three-year, $33 million dollar range. Even at 35 years of age, Nash's elite passing skills and still fine long distance shooting keep him as one of the better fantasy point guards, though his defense is a huge liability in real life that could only get worse as he continues to age.
June 21, 2009
Suns GM Steve Kerr is keeping things close to the vest. According to sportsradiointerviews.com, he has squashed any rumors that the Suns have been talking to anyone about any of their players, despite what you might have heard.

According to the Arizona Republic, when asked by David Letterman if there was any chance of him playing for the Knicks, Steve Nash responded, "I'd love to. Can you work it out?" Barely audible underneath Letterman's follow-up was, "Nah, I'm good in Phoenix."

Our View:Nash has the right to opt out of his contract and become a free agent prior to July 1. If the Knicks, who are coached by Nash's good friend Mike D'Antoni, were to make a bid on Nash, there would be virtually no chance they would retain David Lee and Nate Robinson this offseason. Nash lives in NYC in the summers.

Our View:This seems like a great fit for the charismatic and often hilarious Nash. As he continues to slow down on the court, the race for him off of it will probably heat up between networks covering the NBA. He can't be any worse than Jamal Mashburn at least.

Our View:The Suns could be in a tough spot here. The team took a step in the wrong direction this season, Nash is 35, and Amare Stoudemire could opt out of his deal after 2009-10. So, do they keep the band together? Or start to talk about rebuilding and life beyond this two-time MVP point guard?
April 16, 2009
Slam! reports that the Suns may explore trade opporutnities for two-time MVP Steve Nash this summer. Nash failed to make the playoffs for the first time in nine seasons.

Our View:Nash also has the option of opting out of the final year of his contract this summer. The Suns are believed to try and shed payroll this summer, but they have very few options at point guard aside from Nash. Not to mention that he is the face of the franchise and Suns fans are already less than thrilled about the team's moves since owner Robert Sarver took over the operations.
April 13, 2009

March 4, 2009
In his second game back from a right ankle injury, Steve Nash had 29 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds while hitting 12-of-17 shots. However, the Suns lost for the second straight night, this time 135-129 to the Heat.

Our View:Nash has to be perplexed that his team can beat the Lakers without him, but can't seem to win with him. We are as well, but we still like the production.
March 3, 2009
Steve Nash was back Tuesday after missing Phoenix's previous three games with a sprained right ankle and came through with a great performance, going 8-for-14 with eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals, though he did turn the ball over seven times.

Our View:While it wasn't able to convert into a win for the Suns, it was good to see Nash back on the floor and generating points. New Suns coach Alvin Gentry wants to re-establish the team's free-flowing offense that it displayed under former head coach Mike D'Antoni, according to the East Valley Tribune.

Our View:Kerr is one of the more trade-happy GMs in the league. Not only did he pull the trigger on the Shawn Marion-for-Shaquille O'Neal deal, but he also made an early season move to acquire Jason Richardson. The Suns have been struggling of late and they've been getting poor effort from Richardson, and drastic inconsistency from Amare Stoudemire. They currently hold a half-game lead over the Jazz for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
January 31, 2009

January 18, 2009

January 16, 2009
Steve Nash scored 20 points while handing out 14 assists and grabbing seven rebounds, but his six turnovers played a big role in the Suns 113-119 overtime loss in Denver on Friday. He hit 4-of-5 from long distance.

January 14, 2009
There is a rumor circulating that Steve Nash could be dealt to the Raptors, according to the East Valley Tribune.

Our View:The speculated deal is said to be: the Suns trade Nash, Leandro Barbosa and Robin Lopez for Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker, Jason Kapono and potentially Jamario Moon as cap filler. There is no validity to this deal and there should be plenty more interesting rumors as the February trade deadline draws closer.
January 7, 2009

January 7, 2009
Steve Nash did not participate in the shootaround, but is still expected to start tonight against the Pacers, according to the Arizona Republic. He has been dealing with a case of the flu.
