October 17, 2009 32-year-old guard Stephon Marbury has said he would like to return to the NBA in 2010-11 after sitting out this season to "work on his businesses," according to the Our View:He also had some choice words for his former organization, the Knicks, calling them a "mess" and poorly coached. At this point, it's safe to say a Bill Russell comeback is more likely than a Stephon Marbury comeback. |

October 16, 2009 The Our View:So Starbury isn't retired, he is just taking a year off. Hasn't he already been off for the last few years? Anyway, he won't be relevant in fantasy circles this season, but when he makes his Jordan-esque return next year, he could make a splash. Or maybe not. |

September 9, 2009 The Our View:Marbury could still sign on in Italy, where he has talked about playing for a couple of seasons. He has routinely killed his market value over the years by being linked to a sexual harrassment case, giving unacceptable effort, refusing to play though healthy, refusing to accept $20 million for a one-season buyout, smoking marijuana on camera, killing Celtics chemistry, marketing over-priced $15 shoes, getting a superfluous tattoo on the side of his bald head, and shooting 34 percent from the field and 46 percent from the free-throw line last season. |
