Ray Allen scored 15 points, dished six assists, and grabbed four rebounds in the Celtics' loss to the Magic on Friday.

Our View:The Celtics scored only 78 points tonight, so it was a defensive struggle all night. Allen had another nice all-around night, and he continues to put up nice numbers for fantasy owners.
November 14, 2009
Ray Allen led the Celtics with 24 points in tonight's 113-104 loss at Indiana. He also had five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Ray Allen scored 18 points and drained four threes as the Celtics stomped the Bobcats 92-59 on Wednesday.

Our View:Allen should average right around the 18.2 points he did a season ago.
October 24, 2009
Ray Allen missed part of practice on Saturday after taking an elbow from teammate Kendrick Perkins, according to the Boston Globe. Allen reportedly required stitches after he was elbowed during a skeleton drill by Perkins.

Our View:This doesn't sound like anything to be too concerned about, but stitches can be tricky sometimes. Allen should be good to go for Boston's season-opener against the Cavs, but we will keep you updated over the next few days.
October 18, 2009
Ray Allen led the way for the Celtics in their preseason win over the Raptors on Sunday. Allen scored 20 points and had three rebounds and three assists.

Our View:Allen shot the ball well tonight, as he was 8-for-13 from the field. When he is on, which is most of the time, he is a major scoring threat, especially since the team has several scoring threats that keep the defense from keying on him. Allen is healthy right now, and he should have another very nice fantasy season.
October 9, 2009
The Boston Globe is reporting that guard Ray Allen is in the best shape of his career heading into the 2009-2010 season. Allen also said that his surgically repaired ankles feel better than they have in years.

Our View:Allen is 34 years old, but he has always been known for his outstanding conditioning. He says his ankles feel great, and as long as he stays healthy he should have another big season. He is still an elite shooter, and he should get plenty of good looks thanks to the other pieces around him in the Celtics' starting lineup.
September 12, 2009
The Boston Globe is reporting that Celtics' guard Ray Allen wants to start negotiations with the team on a contract extension. Allen is in the final year of a five-year, $85 million deal.

Our View:Allen is 34 years old, but he has shown over the past few seasons that he is still an elite shooter. He wants to finish his career in Boston, so don't be shocked if he works something out with the team soon.
June 6, 2009
According to the Boston Globe, Ray Allen stated that he was playing with a strained hamstring in the Celtics' second-round playoff series with the Magic.

Our View:Allen didn't have a productive series outside of Game Seven and this injury report helps explain why. Still, there's nothing anyone can do about it now. Allen should be fine by the start of training camp.

Ray Allen hit nine three-pointers on his way to pouring in 51 points in the Celtics 128-127 triple-overtime loss to the Bulls on Thursday. He was 18-for-32 overall from the field.

Our View:Allen hit one incredible shot after another to keep the Celtics in this game. He has logged a ton of minutes in this series, but the Celtics will need at least one more big game from him if they hope to advance to Round 2. He has hit 25-of-47 three-pointers in his last five games.
April 26, 2009
Guard Ray Allen scored 28 points in Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Bulls. He hit five three-pointers and chipped in three rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

Our View:The sharp-shooter has stepped up his game after an awful showing in the series opener. It just wasn't enough in this double-overtime thriller.
April 20, 2009
Ray Allen, who struggled mightily for Boston in Game 1 against the Bulls and scored just two points in the first half of Game 2 on Monday, exploded for 28 second-half points that included six three-pointers, the last of which won the game for Boston with two seconds to go.

Our View:Allen went back and forth with fellow Connecticut-alum Ben Gordon in the second half to put on one of the better shooting displays in recent memory, as neither seemed able to miss a shot at the end of the game. Gordon finished ahead of Allen in the box score with 42 points, but Allen's 30 came in a Boston win that evened the series at one game a piece.
April 17, 2009

Our View:The Celtics are locked into the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, and there is no need for Allen to play and risk getting hurt. Eddie House should be afforded more playing time in his absence.
April 14, 2009
Ray Allen was dealt a one-game suspension without pay by the NBA, according to the Sports Network. Allen elbowed forward Anderson Varejao in the groin during Sunday's battle with Cleveland.

Our View:Allen will serve the suspension tonight at Philadelphia. Adjust your fantasy lineups accordingly.
April 12, 2009
Ray Allen played only 26 minutes in Boston's 107-76 loss to Cleveland on Sunday. The all-star hit 2-of-8 shots to finish with six points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Our View:As fantasy owners need him most, Allen is going 50 percent. The game got out of hand early and it was apparent that the Celtics were not going to compete. Now that they have the No. 2 seed clinched, they look as if they are content backing into the playoffs.
April 10, 2009
According to the Boston Globe, Ray Allen will play in Friday night's game after missing Thursday's practice with a bout of the flu.

Our View:Allen should be safe to keep in your lineup for tonight and you shouldn't have any reservations about starting him.
April 1, 2009
Ray Allen scored 22 points in the Celtics win over the Bobcats on Wednesday night. He also chipped in with four rebounds and two assists.

Our View:Allen's 22 points are nice, but he took an awful lot of shots. He was just 8-of-20 from the field and hit 5-of-13 from behind the arc. Allen is normally almost a 50 percent shooter, so this was an off night.
March 27, 2009

March 21, 2009
Ray Allen returned to the lineup Friday night in San Antonio and scored a team-high 19 points to lead the Celtics to a 80-77 win over the Spurs.

March 19, 2009
The Boston Globe reports that Ray Allen travelled with the Celtics to San Antonio and he could play on Friday. He missed Wednesday's game with a hyper-extended elbow.

March 18, 2009

Our View:There is no timetable set for his return and it is unsure whether he will miss any additional action. Monitor his progress as he is a solid fantasy performer.
March 11, 2009
Ray Allen led the Celtics in scoring once again with 27 points, but they toss to the Heat 107-99 on Wednesday. He also had five rebounds and five three-pointers.

Our View:Allen had a few off-nights a week ago, but he is heating up once again. Given that the team is so short-handed right now, expect Allen to fire away with regularity.
March 8, 2009

Ray Allen hit 11-of-16 shots to finish with 30 points and the Celtics beat the Pacers 104-99 on Friday. He had six boards, six treys, and three assists in the win.

Our View:Allen continues to be the primary reason the Celtics are winning without Kevin Garnett. He is averaging nearly 35 points per game since the all-star break, while shooting well over 50 percent. He has 18 three-pointers over his last four games.
February 23, 2009
Ray Allen hit 6-of-11 three-pointers and finished with 26 points as the Celtics blew out the Nuggets 114-76 on Monday.

Our View:Allen has averaged 28.5 points in the two games the Celtics have been without Kevin Garnett. He should continue to lead the Celtics in scoring in his absence.
February 22, 2009
Ray Allen made half of his eight three-point attempts en route to scoring 31 points in the Celtics' 128-108 win over Phoenix.

Our View:Allen was 10-of-15 overall on the night. However, he did miss a free throw for the first time since Christmas day.
February 20, 2009
Ray Allen had an off night shooting the basketball, scoring just 12 points in the Celtics' 90-85 loss to the Jazz on Thursday.

February 12, 2009
The Associated Press reports that Boston guard Ray Allen plans to play in this weekend's All-Star Game in Phoenix. There was speculation that Allen, who hyperextended the thumb on his non-shooting hand on Wednesday, may miss the game, but he participated in a shootaround prior to Thursday's game at Dallas and he said he was set to go. "The first couple of times I caught the ball, there was pain, but I got used to it," Allen said. "I don't want to feel restricted."

Our View:Allen underwent X-rays to his right thumb and said team doctors ruled there was no broken bone and that there was no risk of further injuring it.
February 12, 2009
Ray Allen will play tonight against Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:The injury to Allen's thumb is on his non-shooting hand so get him into the lineup tonight.
February 12, 2009
Ray Allen, who sustained a hyperextended left thumb during Wednesday's battle with New Orleans, indicated that he will try to play tonight at Dallas, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:The injury is on Allen's non-shooting hand, and he should be fine to consider for fantasy lineups if given the green light to play. He chipped in 23 points, seven assists and five boards in his last meeting with the Mavs.
February 11, 2009
The Sports Ticker reports that Ray Allen suffered a hyperextended left thumb on Wednesday against the Hornets. He finished with one point in 18 minutes.

Our View:The good news is that the injury is not on his shooting hand. It's uncertain how severe the injury is, but it seems quite possible that he will back out of the three-point competition and the All-Star game this weekend.
February 6, 2009
Ray Allen brought his shot with him to Madison Square Garden on Friday, draining 7-of-13 shots from the field and 4-of-8 three-pointers. He also chipped in six assists, three rebounds, and one steal.

Ray Allen scored 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting as the Celtics beat the Timberwolves 109-101 on Sunday. The veteran had four assists, hit three treys, and collected three rebounds in the game.

Our View:Allen stepped up his scoring without Kevin Garnett (flu) in the lineup. He continues to be one of the top shooting guards in the game but he could lose some minutes to Tony Allen and Eddie House down the stretch if coach Doc Rivers elects to rest him more often.
January 25, 2009
Ray Allen helped lead the Celtics in Sunday's 124-100 win over the Mavericks, as he generated 23 points, seven assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block. He made 4-of-5 shots from three-point range.

Our View:Allen has hit 25-of-36 field goals in his last three games, so he's really found his stroke for the time being.
January 19, 2009
Ray Allen hit 4-of-5 three-pointers and scored 20 points as the Celtics defeated the Suns 104-87 on Monday.

Our View:Allen has hit 37 of his last 56 shots (66 percent), including 18-of-28 (64 percent) from three-point range. When he's on, he is one of the best shooters in the game.
January 17, 2009
Ray Allen scored a team-high 25 points in Saturday's 105-85 win over the Nets. He also chipped in one rebound and shot 3-of-7 from three-point range.

January 6, 2009
Ray Allen shot 3-of-11 from three-point land, enduring a tough shooting night in the team's loss to Charlotte.
