The Boston Globe is reporting that Rasheed Wallace is likely sitting out of the Celtics' exhibition game Wednesday night. Wallace did not play in the first quarter of the game, so he looks to be getting the night off.

Our View:All of the forwards have seen action so far tonight, and Wallace remained on the bench. It doesn't appear to be anything of concern, but we will follow up if necessary.

Our View:Wallace had 13 points and a game-high 12 boards coming off the bench. He was 3-of-9 from behind the arc and dished out a pair of assists as well. He should make the Celtics even stronger this season.

According to the Boston Globe, the Celtics have officially signed Rasheed Wallace to a two-year contract. The deal was made official and finalized on Wednesday afternoon.

Our View:This was all just a formality, as it has been reported for days that Sheed was heading to Boston. He is still a very good player, and he is just another potent option for the Celtics to utilize.

Rasheed Wallace has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Celtics, according to FOX Sports. It is believed to be a two-year deal worth between $5.6MM and $5.8MM per year.

Our View:Wallace should prove to be a nice veteran addition to the Celtics' frontcourt if he can stay healthy. He averaged 12 points and 7.4 rebounds over 66 games in 2008-09 with Detroit. It is uncertain if the club will still try to re-sign Glen Davis.

Our View:Sounds like Wallace is keeping his options open. He likely doesn't want to commit to Boston with other interested parties that could potentially offer more cash. The Magic, Spurs, Cavs and Bobcats are rumored to be interested.

According to CelticsBlog.com, Boston is said to be willing to offer Rasheed Wallace the full $5.8 million mid-level exception, but are only willing to go as long as two years.

Our View:This is far from a done deal, but it does show genuine interest by the Celtics. Wallace is said to have other interested suitors as well, including San Antonio and Cleveland.

Our View:Apparently the Celtics are after Wallace as well, but the Magic would love to land him to compliment Dwight Howard. Orlando lost Tony Battie in the Vince Carter trade and Wallace could fill the void. The move could also switch Rashard Lewis to small forward if a deal gets done.

Our View:This news comes in the same article that ponders if the Spurs should rebuild and says that their roster is too old at some spots. We're not sure how a 34-year-old big man fits alongside those ideas. Wallace would be a short-term fix for a Spurs club who may be nearing the end of the Tim Duncan/Gregg Popovich era.

Our View:Wallace has the ability to put up these number more regularly, but he seems to pick and choose his spots. With the Pistons fighting for a playoff spot, and the possibility that this may be his last season playing for Detroit, we expect him to ramp up his efforts down the stretch.

Our View:'Sheed may be able to use the game off for some additional rest for his strained calf. It's unfortunate that suspensions do not bother him as they likely frustrate the heck out of his fantasy owners. He will enter free agency this summer, and the mountain of technical fouls that he has gathered throughout his career will weigh heavy on GMs minds.
