Marcus Thornton (bruised back) will not be in the Hornets lineup against the Sixers on Friday, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:He was deemed unready for action after the team's morning shootaround. He has been putting up good numbers in Chris Paul's absence, so this is not a nothing absence. If he recovers quickly, he could be worth a look in most leagues while Paul is out.

Marcus Thornton missed the Hornets' practice on Thursday due to a sore lower back, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Thornton banged his back after falling to the ground last night. He's listed as questionable against the 76ers Friday, with either James Posey or Morris Peterson figuring to take his starting spot if he sits.

Marcus Thornton banged in a team-high 22 points in tonight's 103-99 home loss to the Thunder, to go along with six assists, three rebounds, one steal and two blocks.

Our View:The rookie out of LSU averages 20.2 points over his last four games, and his fantasy stock should continue to rise.

Marcus Thornton dropped in a team-high 25 points in Monday's 109-100 home loss to the Suns. He also had four rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Our View:Thornton was on target tonight, and drained 5-of-9 shots from three-point land. The rookie out of LSU also set a new personal single-game high in scoring, and his fantasy stock should continue to point up.

As if playing 39 minutes in his first career start following the Devin Brown trade wasn't enough, rookie Marcus Thornton got another vote of confidence on Tuesday, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Coach/General Manager Jeff Bower said that he is "confident" in Thornton, and that he likes the possibilities putting him in the starting lineup opens up.

Our View:Thornton had 19 points in his start. His value is completely hitched to scoring and three-pointers, but he should provide enough of both to help fantasy owners. If he's still available, you should probably make a move for him.

Marcus Thornton looked good in tonight's 98-97 win at Portland, as he tallied 19 points, one rebound, one assist and one block. He drained 3-of-5 shots from three-point range.

Our View:The rookie shooting guard looks to have a promising future in the NBA, but is not yet consistent enough to consider for fantasy lineups.
