Newsbreakers
November 1, 2009
The Indiana Pacers have picked up the third-year options on Brandon Rush and Roy Hibbert, according to the Indianapolis Star. Both players have started every game for the Pacers this season.

Our View:Hibbert has been solid in two games this season, averaging 7.0 points and 7.5 boards per game, but rush has been a bit of a disappointment. He is averaging only 16 minutes a game, and his four points per game average is not good enough.

Brandon Rush struggled from distance on Wednesday as the Pacers fell to the Magic 117-87. Rush finished with 14 points, but he was 0-for-7 from beyond the arc.

Our View:Rush is normally a very solid three-point shooter, but he couldn't find his stroke tonight. We still expect him to be much better this season, but even the best shooters have nights like this every once in a while.

Pacers' guard Brandon Rush dropped in 20 points and added six boards and three assists as Indiana topped the Denver Nuggets 126-104 in Taiwan on Thursday. Rush was 6-for-12 from long distance in the game.

Our View:Rush shot the lights out in Taiwan today, and he looks like he is ready to take the next step for the Pacers this season. He average only 8.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game last season, but he should improve on those numbers this season as a starter.

The Indianapolis Star reports that Brandon Rush is a lock for next season's starting lineup. He has held the starting shooting guard position for most of the past month.

Our View:If this is the case, it will be interesting to see how the Pacers deal with restricted free agent Jarrett Jack in the offseason. T.J. Ford makes starter's money and with the Pacers enduring their own money struggles, they may have to let Jack walk.

Brandon Rush led the charge for the Pacers in their 106-102 win over the Pistons on Saturday. He totaled 21 points, grabbed seven boards and chipped in with two assists.

Our View:This was a huge game for Rush, who averaged only 7.5 points per contest before tonight. This was his first time topping the 20 point mark since March 29th.
March 29, 2009
Brandon Rush tied a season-high with 29 points against the Wizards on Sunday. He also pulled down 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

Our View:The rookie has come alive the past five games. He's averaged 10.7 points this month, including double figures in each of his last five contests and 29 in back-to-back games.
March 28, 2009
Brandon Rush scored a career-high 29 points against Chicago on Saturday off 13-of-19 shooting with two three-pointers.

Our View:Rush has reached double-digit point totals each of Indiana's past four games now and, with a starting gig apparently secure for the rest of the season, makes for an excellent pickup that can help over the final two weeks.
March 22, 2009
The Indianapolis Star reports that guard Brandon Rush is likely to keep his starting spot in the lineup for the time being.

Our View:The rookie Rush, who has averaged 22 minutes this season, notched a team-high 39 on Saturday when head coach Jim O'Brien replaced T.J. Ford with Jarrett Jack at the point and put Rush in at shooting guard.
February 11, 2009
Brandon Rush and Jeff Foster will not be traded by the Pacers, as the team wants to keep both players around, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Our View:There were reports that one or both could be part of a trade that would ultimately send Jamaal Tinsley to Charlotte for Raymond Felton, but that transaction seems to be dead.
