October 22, 2009 Morris Almond has been waived by the Orlando Magic. Our View:Almond is a former first round pick of the Jazz (2007), but has averaged just 3.1 points per game in 34 career games. He is only 24 years old, so we likely have not seen the last of him, though. |

March 7, 2009 The Jazz assigned Morris Almond to the Utah Flash of the D-League on Saturday, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Our View:The Jazz have dealt with well-known injury troubles this season to the likes of Carlos Boozer, Deron Williams and Andrei Kirilenko, among others, but are finally getting back to full health. Thus, Almond, who had been used sparingly for depth, was no longer needed. |

January 10, 2009 Guard Morris Almond could go from the bench to the starting lineup. He hasn't played since December 29, but he could start against the Pistons on Saturday. "That's just how quick things change in this league," Almond tells the Deseret News. Small forward C.J. Miles is doubtful due to a sprained ankle. Our View:Almond, a 2007 first-round pick, has barely played over his two seasons, but he does have some scoring ability. Fantasy owners have no reason to use him at this point. |
