November 11, 2009
Rajon Rondo scored 14 points and dished out 11 assists on Wednesday night, helping the Celtics ease by the Jazz 105-86.

Our View:Things are looking easy for the Celts this season, and Rondo is a big reason why. It's starting to look more and more like there's a big four, and not just a big three, in Beantown.
November 7, 2009
Rajon Rondo scored 16 points and added four rebounds and three assists in the Celtics' 86-76 win over the Nets on Saturday. Rondo was 8-for-11 shooting from the field.

Our View:The Celtics' offense wasn't overly impressive tonight, but they picked a good team to struggle against in the Nets. Rondo's assist totals were a bit low tonight, but with all the offensive power in Boston he should have no problem in that category.
November 4, 2009
Rajon Rondo led the Celtics in scoring on Wednesday as they held on to beat the T-Wolves 92-90. Rondo scored 18 points and dished out six assists in the victory.

Our View:All five starters scored in double-figures in this game, but Rondo led the way with his 18. He also grabbed four boards, and he was the best player on the floor for Boston tonight.
November 2, 2009
Rajon Rondo has agreed to a five-year conract extension with the Boston Celtics worth "at least" $55 million, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:After nearly trading Rondo last offseason, the Celts have now locked him up. It's not hard to see why. One of the most complete point guards in the league, Rondo is averaging 6.5 points, five rebounds 2.5 steals and 11.8 assists per game so far in 2009-10.
November 1, 2009
The Boston Globe reports that Rajon Rondo had his ankle heavily iced and wrapped following Sunday's win over the Hornets. He suffered the injury in the first quarter of the game, but was able to play through it.

Our View:Rondo should be fine to keep in your lineups this week. He has not scored much this season, but has produced good assist, rebound, and steals totals.
November 1, 2009
Rajon Rondo only had six points on seven shots, but he did contribute 10 assists, three rebounds, and three steals in Boston's win over the Hornets.

Our View:Rondo has not scored much this season, but has proven to be a very valuable fantasy option in the mold of Jason Kidd. He has 49 assists through four games.
October 29, 2009
The Boston Herald is reporting that the Celtics and point guard Rajon Rondo aren't any closer to a contract extension. The two sides are expected to resume talks before Saturday's signing deadline.

Our View:Neither side seems too desperate to get this thing done, as Rondo believes he will be able to get a big deal as a restricted free agent, and the Celtics don't believe they will have to pay him much more if he becomes restricted. They will talk again, but it's far from a sure thing that a deal gets done befoer the deadline.
October 28, 2009
Rajon Rondo scored ten points and dished out ten assists, helping the Celtics to a blowout win over the Bobcats on Wednesday.

Our View:Rondo is turing into one of the better all-around players in the entire league, and is tantalizingly close to top five point guard status.
October 27, 2009
The Boston Globe reports that point guard Rajon Rondo will not be signing a new deal with the Celtics anytime soon.

Our View:Rondo apparently wants to be paid like a top-five point guard, while the Celts currently have no intention of giving him that kind of money. The situation is still said to be cordial, however, and should not affect Rondo's play this season.
October 26, 2009
According to WEEI.com out of Boston, the Celtics plan to offer point guard Rajon Rondo a long-term deal. The two sides are expected to begin talks tonight, and the team hopes they can get a deal done that will keep Rondo in Boston for a long time.

Our View:This comes as quite a surprise, considering the team was trying to trade Rondo just last summer. He has reportedly matured quite a bit recently, and the team obviously feels confident enough to sign him to a long-term deal.
October 22, 2009
Rajon Rondo has matured a great deal this offseason, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:The Celtics very publicly shopped Rondo last summer after he called an ill-advised players only meeting during the playoffs last season, and in general appeared to be trying to create a gulf between the Celtics' big three (Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce) and the rest of the team. He seems to have gotten the message from the trade talks, however, and seems highly likely to continue blossoming into one of the NBA's top point guards this season.
October 20, 2009
Rajon Rondo was productive in tonight's 108-103 preseason loss to the Knicks, as he scored a team-high 20 points with seven assists, one rebound and two steals. He played 27 minutes.

Our View:Rondo should serve as a nice No. 2 fantasy guard, with potential for more. He nearly recorded a triple-double against the Nets last Tuesday.
October 13, 2009
Rajon Rondo was a standout for the Celtics in Tuesday's 91-88 preseason win over the Nets, as he racked up 18 points, 13 assists, nine rebounds and two steals. He played 40 minutes.

Our View:Rondo impressively almost recorded a triple double, and looks to be a hot target among fantasy guards for 2009-10.
October 7, 2009
Celtics coach Doc Rivers said on Tuesday that he expects guard Rajon Rondo to be in Boston for the long-haul, according to WEEI.com.

Our View:There had been speculation last summer that the Celts might trade the immature Rondo, but they are apparently now keen on keeping him long-term. His play speaks for itself. In 80 games last season, he averaged 11.9 points, 8.2 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.
June 26, 2009
Celtics GM Danny Ainge emphatically stated on Thursday that the team has no plans to trade point guard Rajon Rondo, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Ainge specifically said Rondo is not a "Manny situation," and that while the team believes he needs to work on his leadership skills, they do not feel compelled to move him.
June 24, 2009
GM Danny Ainge sent a text message tonight noting that the Celtics do not plan on making any moves to climb into the first-round of Thursday's draft, according to the Boston Globe. He also does not anticipate acquiring a second-round selection, or trading for a player.

Our View:The Celtics currently only have pick No. 58 of the second-round. It does not look like the club will try to deal Rajon Rondo prior to or during the draft. There have been rumors circulating that Rondo was on the trading block.
June 24, 2009
The Boston Globe has an update in the Rajon Rondo saga. Apparently Coach Doc Rivers stated that Rondo is "stubborn" and "impossible to coach".

Our View:Rondo has also been criticized (and fined) for being late. The team is looking for him to take on more of a leadership role, but he doesn't seem to want to play ball. GM Danny Ainge doesn't feel he deserves a big contract, and with the numbers he put up in the playoffs his value will never be higher, so trading him just makes sense right now. The rumors will continue to swirl.
June 22, 2009
There is a rumor swirling that the Celtics offered Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen to the Pistons for a package that included Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Rodney Stuckey, according to Yahoo! Sports.

June 21, 2009
Rajon Rondo's agent (Brian Duffy) is denying the rumor that his client is on the Celtics' trading block, according to the Boston Globe.

June 18, 2009
Celtics GM Danny Ainge said on Thursday that it was "unlikely" the team would trade Rajon Rondo in an effort to move up in next Thursday's draft, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:Rondo is apparently not the most popular guy in the Celtics locker room, which is the only reason a possible trade is being mentioned at all. The odds of him still being in a Celtics uniform next season are very, very high.
June 5, 2009
A team source denied the rumor that Rajon Rondo is on the trading block, according to CelticsBlog.com. The undisclosed source said, "Can he be frustrating at times? Absolutely. But no one is ready to give up on him. Whoever put the Rondo rumors out there obviously works for someone other than the Celtics."

Our View:Rondo is among the Celtics' best all-around players, and was a key contributor during their championship run last season.
May 14, 2009
Rajon Rondo led the way again for the Celtics on Thursday, but Boston fell to the Magic 83-75. Rondo finished with 19 points, 16 rebounds, and six assists.

May 10, 2009
Rajon Rondo had 13 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists as Boston won 95-94 in Orlando on Sunday.

Our View:Rondo was held in check in Game 3, but he flashed his incredible impact play again in tonight's game. Although he missed some critical free throws, the Celtics would not have had a chance without him.
May 8, 2009
Rajon Rondo had 15 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Celtics' Game Three loss to the Magic on Friday.

Our View:Rondo was solid in this one, but not dominating like he has been in the postseason so far. He hasn't been as good in this series as he was against the Bulls, but his Game Two triple-double was clutch.
May 6, 2009
Rajon Rondo scored 15 points, dished out 18 assists, and collected 11 rebounds as the Celtics wiped the floor with the Magic in a 112-94 win on Wednesday.

Our View:Rondo was off with his shot once again as he hit just 7-of-19 in the game. He was 2-for-12 in Game 1. Regardless, Rondo is averaging 18.3 points, 11.9 assists, and 9.6 rebounds in nine playoff games.
May 1, 2009
Rajon Rondo will not be punished for his skirmish with Bulls' guard Kirk Hinrich on Thursday, according to the Miami Herald. Rondo was hit with a flagrant foul during the game, and the league has decided not to take any further action.

Our View:This is becoming a regular note on Rondo, and he has now had two incidents in the last two games. He will be good to go for Game 7, so tune in to see who Rondo goes after next. You also may want to watch because this series has been one of the all-time greats in NBA history.
April 30, 2009

April 29, 2009
The NBA is examining Rajon Rondo's hard foul on Bulls big man Brad Miller, ESPN.com reports. The Celtics guard hit Miller hard in the mouth on Tuesday night. The officials did not call a flagrant foul.

Our View:Rondo could be in trouble if the league officials change the ruling. If it's a category-2 flagrant, then Rondo would miss Game 6. If it's category-1, then it's more like a slap on the wrist. We're guessing that Rondo might receive the lesser violation.
April 28, 2009
Rajon Rondo just missed another triple-double as he was two rebounds shy in Tuesday's 106-104 overtime win. He had a game-high 28 points and 11 assists to go with his eight rebounds.

Our View:Rondo was 12-of-22 from the field and hit both of his two three-point attempts. He has been a monster in the series and has feasted on the Bulls for 121 points in five games and has scored at least 19 in every contest.
April 26, 2009

April 23, 2009
Rajon Rondo reportedly practiced at full-speed during half-court drills Wednesday despite dealing with a sprained right ankle, according to the Boston Globe. Coach Doc Rivers said, "He wanted to practice. We started out practice pretty sloppy and he wanted to stay out on the floor and try to get them right, and he did that."

Our View:Rondo mildly sprained his ankle during Monday's game, but he was able to play with the injury and even recorded a triple-double. The series is currently tied 1-1.
April 20, 2009
Rajon Rondo is looking to set-up his teammates with better shots in Game 2 against Chicago following a disappointing loss in the opener, according to the Boston Globe. Rondo said, "Probably get Ray Allen shots in transition, that is how he gets his jump shots. He did not get any layups -- he missed a dunk -- the way our team is built, especially with Kevin Garnett out, we need to get out on the break a little more, get Ray and Paul easy shots, get them to the free throw line. That way, their jump shots are flowing easier."

Our View:Rondo is looking to do a better job in Game 2, but he was Boston's top performer in Game 1 with a team-high 29 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block. The Celtics really need to win tonight's game at TD Banknorth Garden, or they will be heading to Chicago down 2-0 in the series.

April 8, 2009

Our View:Given his questionable health, no one could have expected Rondo's performance tonight. His 31 points was just one below his season-high and marked just the second time that he had scored at least 30 points.
April 8, 2009
The Boston Globe indicates that Rajon Rondo will play in Wednesday's game with the Nets. He is currently battling a sprained ankle.

Our View:The Celtics hold a slight lead over the Magic for the No. 2 seed so there is still plenty on the line as they wrap up the regular season. Stephon Marbury was supposed to provide the insurance needed to play the point in case such an injury like this occurred but he has been mostly terrible since joining the Celtics.

March 18, 2009
Rajon Rondo score 27 points and added 10 assists in Boston's 112-108 OT win against the Heat.

Our View:Rondo was a late start, but once again the ankle didn't seem to bother him as he played 47 minutes and was 11-of-20 in field goals. Rondo has had some big games lately and his offensive numbers should continue to rise as he plays a bigger role with Allen and Garnett out.

March 11, 2009
The Boston Globe reports that Rajon Rondo (ankle) will not play in Friday's game against Memphis.
