Monta Ellis suffered a sprained left knee on Monday night, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Our View:Ellis will undergo an MRI at some point today, after which we'll know more about when he'll be back. Still, you can bet he won't be on the court tomorrow against the Clippers, meaning a return after the All-Star break against the Lakers next Tuesday seems like a best-case scenario.

Monta Ellis racked up a game-high 46 points in tonight's 110-101 loss at Dallas, to go along with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

Our View:Ellis is hot, as he averages 35 points over his last three games. The star point guard will aim for another strong performance Saturday against Oklahoma City.

Monta Ellis was a standout in Tuesday's 119-97 loss at Houston, as he racked up a game-high 34 points with two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.

Our View:The star point guard continues to get the job done for fantasy owners, and he topped 30 points for the fourth time in his last eight games.

Monta Ellis was good for 25 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals in Sunday's loss to the Thunder.

Our View:Ellis was just 9-of-24 from the field, but he did hit 3-of-7 three-pointers in the game. After returning from an ankle injury that cost him three games, he is steadily improving, putting up 19, 22 and now 25 points in his three games back.

Monta Ellis (ankle) will not play on Tuesday night, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Ellis is day-to-day with his mysterious ankle ailment, though he shouldn't be considered too likely to suit up this week. Expect an update in a day or two.

Amid Tuesday reports that budding young star Monta Ellis could be traded to the Celtics, Warriors head coach Don Nelson literally laughed when told of the story, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:That would seem to shoot down the New England based speculation then. While trading Ellis likely wouldn't be the right move for the struggling Warriors, something needs to be done to a roster loaded with too many scoring guards and undersized forwards.
January 25, 2010
Marcus Thompson of the Contra Costa Times tweeted that he has been told by multiple sources that the trade rumors regarding Monta Ellis are not true.

Our View:Ellis is a star point guard and it would take a lot to ship him out of Golden State, even with rookie Stepehen Curry playing well.
January 25, 2010
Monta Ellis (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game at Sacramento, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Our View:Consider him day-to-day. Stephen Curry should start at point guard in his absence.
January 25, 2010
There is speculation brewing that the Warriors are thinking about dealing Monta Ellis to the Celtics in exchange for Ray Allen, according to CSNNE.com.

Our View:The Warriors could afford to trade Ellis with Stephen Curry making strides, but neither team is yet to comment on the rumored trade.
January 24, 2010
Monta Ellis' (ankle) status is mostly a mystery at the moment, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Our View:X-rays on the ankle came back negative, but no one seems to know when he may play again. He likely shouldn't be out too long, but consider him a no-go in weekly leagues this week. Stay tuned.
January 23, 2010
Monta Ellis (sprained ankle) did not travel with the Warriors to Phoenix and is out against the Suns tonight, according to the Arizona Republic's Paul Coro.

Our View:Consider Ellis day-to-day for the time being. Check back in tomorrow night before setting your lineup for next week, and be sure to replace him tonight.
January 22, 2010
Monta Ellis suffered a sprained right ankle in tonight's battle against New Jersey, according to Jaymee Sire's (Comcast Sportsnet) twitter page.

Our View:Ellis is getting X-rays, and is questionable to return.
January 20, 2010
Monta Ellis left Golden State's shootaround early this morning due to severe pain in his surgically-repaired ankle that he said was caused by the rainy weather, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:While the explanation sounds bizarre, it apparently does hold weight for people with significant joint injuries, as they can feel the change in air pressure more significantly because their cartilage doesn't offer enough cushion. No word yet on whether he'll be forced to miss tonight's game against Denver, though Ellis owners should keep an eye on the situation.
January 18, 2010
Monta Ellis carried the Warriors with a game-high 36 points in Monday's 114-97 home win over the Bulls. He also tallied five rebounds, eight assists, four steals and a block.

Our View:The star point guard gave another strong effort for fantasy owners, and reached at least 30 points for the sixth time this month.
January 14, 2010
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Monta Ellis tweaked his left ankle last Friday and aggravated the injury in the first quarter of Monday's game.

Our View:Ellis played through the injury on both accounts, but it could explain his so-so performance on Wednesday when he put up just 17 points. Expect him to be slightly limited but active over the next few games.
January 14, 2010
Monta Ellis scored a quiet 17 points on Wednesday night, as Golden State lost 115-102 to the Heat.

Our View:It was the first time in 12 contest he had been held below 20 points. Don't count on it happening again any time soon.
January 6, 2010
Monta Ellis was a beast on Wednesday with 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists, five steals and a blocked shot in a win over the Timberwolves.

Our View:Ellis had quite the complete effort for the Warriors and his fantasy owners on Wednesday and was one shy of his season-high mark for steals. He is averaging over 27 points in his last three games and is the epitome of red hot.
January 5, 2010
Monta Ellis scored 32 points off 14-of-29 shooting on Tuesday while dishing six assists with four turnovers.

Our View:Unfortunately, Ellis also committed a costly last-second foul on J.R. Smith that cost Golden State the game in the team's one-point loss. Luckily for his fantasy owners, they could care less about Golden State's fate as long as Ellis continues to get his numbers.
January 2, 2010
Monta Ellis racked up a team-high 30 points in Saturday's 105-89 loss at Portland, to go along with five rebounds and four assists.

Our View:The star point guard continues to roll for fantasy owners, as he reached at least 30 points for the sixth time in his last eight games.
