Trevor Ariza scored 19 points and came away with nine rebounds in Tuesday's loss to the Suns.

Our View:Ariza had four assists and three steals in the game as well, but hit just eight of his 21 shots on the night. He came close tonight, but is still looking for his first double-double of the season.
November 13, 2009
Trevor Ariza had 28 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Rockets on Friday, but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Kings 109-100.

Our View:Ariza had five steals in the game as well and Friday's effort represented one of his most well-rounded games of the season. He's averaging close to 20 PPG this season and has looked sharp in his new home.
November 11, 2009
Trevor Ariza scored 17 points, doled out seven assists and grabbed five rebounds on Wednesday night, as Houston hammered the Grizzlies 104-79.

Our View:Ariza rebounded nicely from his season-low nine point effort from yesterday.

Trevor Ariza could be forced to sit out on Friday as he battles the flu, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View:The NBA is not allowing anyone who has a fever to play due to concerns about swine flu. His loss would be a huge one for the Rockets, as he is off to a monster start this season, averaging 20 points per game.
October 31, 2009
Trevor Ariza's career-high 33 points helped the Rockets to a 111-107 victory over the Trail Blazers on Saturday night.

Our View:The Rockets have said they need Ariza to step up offensively, and he's responded by averaging 23.3 points per game in Houston's first three contests.
October 29, 2009
Newest Rocket Trevor Ariza had a huge all-around night in his second game for the team on Wednesday, scoring 25 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block in Houston's one point victory over Golden State.

Our View:The Rockets weren't missing Ron Artest at least for one night. If Ariza plays even half this well going forward, he'll be a decent fantasy option.
July 2, 2009
Trevor Ariza has signed with the Houston Rockets, according to the Houston Chronicle's Richard Justice.

Our View:Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ariza's curious spurning of the Lakers appears to be mostly motivated by money, and he is now joining a team that will be without its three top players from 2008-09 for most of the season. He should not be an impact fantasy player.
July 2, 2009
Trevor Ariza visited the Rockets Thursday, according to OregonLive.com.

Our View:The Lakers are seemingly ready to let Ariza go, as they are reportedly close to a deal with Ron Artest. Ariza averaged 8.9 points over 24.4 minutes per game with Los Angeles in 2008-09.
June 14, 2009
Trevor Ariza played a huge role in the Lakers' Game 5 win over the Magic. Ariza netted 15 points and added five rebounds and an assist. The Lakers won the series and the championship with their 99-86 win.

Our View:Ariza was one of th major contributors for the Lakers tonight, and they wouldn't have been able to win without him. He has a bright future in the league, and when he finds some consistency he could be a very good player.
May 25, 2009
Trevor Ariza is nursing a severely bruised left hip as well as a strained groin, but he expects to play in Game 4 against the Nuggets tonight, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

Our View:The Lakers lead the Nuggets 2-1, and Ariza is averaging 18 points over the last two games in the series.
May 23, 2009
Trevor Ariza had to head to the locker room with groin and hip stiffness in the middle of Los Angeles' eventual Game 3 win over Denver on Saturday but returned to the court, finishing with 16 points off 5-of-8 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range.

Our View:Ariza also came up with a big late-game steal, reminiscent of his game-sealing theft in Game 1. Ariza averaged 8.9 points in the regular season but has scored over 11.5 points per game in the playoffs.
May 21, 2009
Trevor Ariza scored 20 points and played stellar defense in the Lakers' 106-103 loss to the Nuggets on Thursday. His efforts fell short though as he coughed up the ball in the final seconds and the Nuggets were able to tie the series.

Our View:Ariza hit 6-of-7 shots from the field, was a perfect 2-of-2 from downtown and hit 6-of-8 from the line. He collected three rebounds, two assists and four steals in the game while putting up the most points he's had in a game since the Lakers' playoff opener.

Trevor Ariza's sprained ankle is "totally fine", according to the Orange County Register.

Our View:Ariza has been an x-factor for the Lakers in a number of close games this season. His ability to get out in transition and play shutdown defense are both things that Phil Jackson's team desperately needs.
April 27, 2009

April 26, 2009
Trevor Ariza sprained his right ankle during pre-game warm-ups on Saturday. He aggravated the injury during the first quarter, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. Ariza ended up playing nearly 28 minutes and scoring five points.

Our View:The Lakers have championship ambitions, and they will want Ariza to be healthy for a full run. Thus, it won't be too surprising if he is limited for the Game 5 tilt against the Jazz.
April 19, 2009
Trevor Ariza scored 21 points on 8-for-10 and shooting as the Lakers defeated the Jazz 113-100 on Sunday.

Our View:Ariza connected on 3-of-4 three-point attempts. His ability to get out in transition, spread the floor, and lock down his opposing player is a key element that the Lakers did not utiliza have in last season's playoffs.
March 15, 2009
Trevor Ariza scored a season-high 26 points as the Lakers beat the Mavericks 107-100 on Sunday. He was 9-of-13 from the field and contributed three rebounds, three steals, and three treys in the win.

Our View:Ariza looks to be firmly implanted back into the starting five where he was fantasy relevant earlier in the season. With the Lakers essentially having the No. 1 seed locked up, look for Ariza to play a more prominent role in the team's offense going down the stretch.
March 12, 2009
Trevor Ariza was inserted into the Lakers' starting lineup against San Antonio on Thursday and scored 10 points off 4-of-6 shooting with one three-pointer, three rebounds, two assists and four steals.

Our View:Ariza should be in line for a few more minutes per night if he's able to stick in Los Angeles' starting lineup in Luke Walton's place and will be an excellent source of steals. He's No. 8 in the league in total steals despite averaging 10-15 minutes fewer per game than nearly all the other players in the top-25.
March 7, 2009
Forward Trevor Ariza scored 13 points in 24 minutes Friday evening as the Lakers drilled the Timberwolves 110-90 at STAPLES Center.

Our View:Ariza, at 8.4 points per game, is just another one of the valuable bench players coach Phil Jackson has at his disposal. Unfortunately, Ariza is not enough of an impact player to attract much fantasy consideration.
January 30, 2009
Trevor Ariza is out for tonight's game at Minnesota while recovering from a concussion, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Ariza is dealing with dizziness, ringing in his ears and nausea, and is considered day-to-day.

January 27, 2009

Our View:There is no word on the severity of the injury, or if Ariza will miss any additional time.
January 4, 2009
Trevor Ariza scored only four points in his return to the starting lineup as the Lakers defeated Portland 100-86 on Sunday. He also had five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.

Our View:A little more was expected from Ariza, but he was still able to put up the defensive numbers that he is known for.
January 4, 2009
Trevor Ariza resumed his starting role at small forward for the Lakers following Luke Walton's injury to his foot.

Our View:Ariza is a strong addition to most fantasy rosters mostly due to his production in the steals category. He is averaging nearly two per game. As a starter, he will contribute modest numbers in scoring and rebounding.
