November 15, 2009
Pistons' guard Ben Gordon had a night to forget on Sunday in the Pistons' loss to the Mavericks. Gordon scored just five points, and he missed 15 of his 16 shots from the field.

Our View:Gordon also turned the ball over four times, so tonight just wasn't his night. He has been very good in his first year in Detroit, so don't expect too many more nights like this.
November 14, 2009
Ben Gordon scored a game-high 29 points in tonight's 106-103 win at Washington, to go along with two rebounds and one assist. He drained 4-of-5 shots from three-point range.

Our View:Gordon got the job done for Detroit, as well as fantasy owners tonight. He just missed his second 30-point performance of the season.
November 8, 2009
Ben Gordon had another good game starting in place of Richard Hamilton on Sunday, dropping a team high 23 points in a 88-81 Detroit win over Philadelphia.

Our View:Gordon is averaging a cool 24 points per game so far this season, and is looking like a nice free agent addition by the Pistons.
November 4, 2009
Ben Gordon led all scorers with 30 points on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough as the Pistons fell to the Raptors 110-99. Gordon added four assists and two rebounds in the game.

Our View:Gordon has stepped in and become a scoring machine for the Pistons, as he was averaging 24 points per game heading into tonight's action. He seems comfortable with his new squad, and he should continue to score with regularity all season.
November 3, 2009

Our View:The former member of the Bulls is fitting in very well with his new club, as he averages 24 points over four games.
November 3, 2009
Ben Gordon will make another start in place of Richard Hamilton in tonight's game against Orlando, according to MLive.com.

Our View:Hamilton is still recovering from his ankle ailment. Gordon is fitting in well with Detroit, as he averages 24.3 points over three games, with a 48.9 shooting percentage.
October 31, 2009
Ben Gordon led the Pistons with a quiet 26 points in their 96-85 loss to the Bucks on Saturday night.

Our View:Gordon is doing exactly what the Pistons wanted him to do with they signed him long-term last offseason - score in bunches. He's not a versatile fantasy player, but an essential one because of his instant offense.
October 30, 2009
Ben Gordon scored a team-high 25 points in tonight's 91-83 loss to the Bobcats. He also had seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and a block. He made 2-of-5 shots from three-point range.

Our View:The former star of the Bulls is fitting in well with his new club, as he averages 23.5 points over two games.
October 28, 2009
Ben Gordon had a solid Pistons debut on Wednesday night, scoring 22 points off the bench, as Detroit beat the Grizzlies 96-74.

Our View:Gordon looked like much the same player he was in Chicago, and can be counted on for some pure offense in fantasy leagues.
October 15, 2009
Ben Gordon had a quiet night for Detroit on Thursday, scoring just nine points in their loss to the Mavs.

Our View:Don't expect to see that stat too often. Gordon was brought to Detroit to score, and he will do it in bunches in 2009-10.
October 11, 2009
Ben Gordon scored 22 points in 27 minutes as the Pistons beat the Hawks 100-91 on Sunday. He hit three treys to go with three assists, two rebounds, and a steal.

Our View:As expected, Gordon has been aggressive with his minutes throughout the preseason and has displayed a quick trigger. He seems to be morphing back into an elite sixth man without much complaint.
October 7, 2009
Ben Gordon led all scorers with 24 points in a 113-104 preseason win over the Bucks on Wednesday.

Our View:Gordon hit 6-of-10 shots from the field, including 4-of-5 from downtown, and racked up three rebounds and a pair of assists as well. The only downside to his stellar contest was that he turned the ball over five times.
July 18, 2009
It has been revealed that Ben Gordon's five-year deal with the Pistons is worth $58MM with incentives, according to ChicagoNow.com. He will earn $10MM in 2009-10, and has a player option for the fifth year.

Our View:Gordon earned the lucrative new deal by averaging 20.7 points with the Bulls in 2008-09. He shot 41 percent from three-point range, and should remain among the best shooters from beyond the arc with his new club.
July 7, 2009
The Pistons have announced that John Kuester will be their coach in 2009-10, according to the Detroit News.

Our View:The Cavs assistant and Larry Brown disciple signed just a two-year deal, but will likely get to coach at least both those seasons after the Pistons fired previous coach Michael Curry after just one year.
July 2, 2009
Ben Gordon revealed on Thursday that the Bulls never made him an offer this offseason, according to Hoopsworld.com.

Our View:Gordon's departure likely means a bigger role once again for Kirk Hinrich in the Windy City, though the Bulls could still replace Gordon via trade or free agency.
July 2, 2009
According to Hoopsworld.com, Ben Gordon stated that he expects to be the sixth man behind Rip Hamilton next season.

Our View:The Pistons think the two can play together (at least more effectively than Hamilton and Allen Iverson), but Hamilton may not want Gordon eating into his minutes and could demand a trade. Stay tuned for drama.
July 1, 2009
The Detroit Pistons have signed free agent guard Ben Gordon to a five year $55 million deal, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:Gordon was the big fish in this year's weak free agent crop, and the Pistons were dead set on getting him. It's not clear what this means for Richard Hamilton, or how the Bulls will replace him, but you can now pencil Gordon, and his 30 shots a night, into the Pistons starting lineup.
July 1, 2009
According to Yahoo! Sports, Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva flew to Detroit on Wednesday to visit with Piston's President Joe Dumars.

Our View:Both are unrestricted free agents and both are reportedly close to making a deal with Detroit. With Rip Hamilton and Gordon both shooting guards, Gordon may be used as a sixth man.
June 17, 2009
Unrestricted free agent Ben Gordon has reportedly been been guaranteed an $11 million offer from the Pistons, according to Sam Smith of Bulls.com.

Our View:Details are still unknown, but Gordon's agent says the offer is legit. If it is indeed true, Rip Hamilton would likely be dangled as trade bait by the Piston's as Gordon would force him out of his spot.
June 12, 2009
Free agent Ben Gordon says that winning a title, and not necessarily getting the most money, will be his top priority when signing with a team this offseason according to Hoopsworld.com.

Our View:Gordon says he would still like to get his market value in a contract, but seemed to indicate he might take a little less to play for a winning team. The Bulls are still interested in his service and would be wise to keep him. His status as one of the purest scorers in the league make him a solid fantasy option as well.
June 11, 2009
Although Bulls GM Gar Forman has said that re-signing Ben Gordon this offseason is his top priority, Gordon doesn't think it matters, according to the Sun-Times. "Ultimately, I think everything goes through Jerry (Reinsdorf)," Gordon said. "I think those guys represent what Jerry wants.

Our View:If the Bulls hope to start both Luol Deng and John Salmons next season, Gordon will have to go back to being a sixth man. He probably does not want to do that, and the Bulls would be reluctant to pay starter's money to another reserve. Kirk Hinrich already comes off the bench for more the $10 million per season.
June 10, 2009
Guard Ben Gordon remains uncertain as to if his NBA future lies in Chicago or somewhere else, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. He will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. "I don't know," Gordon tells a local ESPN affiliate. "We'll have to wait and see how interested they are come July 1."

Our View:Previous reports suggested that Gordon would be the Bulls' top priority this offseason, but the two sides have been dancing around contract talks for more than a year.
May 21, 2009
According to the Associated Press, the Bulls' top offseason priority is signing free agent Ben Gordon.

Our View:New GM Gar Forman loves Gordon and should make this offseason's negotiations go smoother than those in the past. Gordon led the Bulls in scoring this season for the fourth consecutive year and looks likely to remain with his old team.
May 2, 2009
Ben Gordon scored a game-high 33 points in Saturday's 109-99 loss to the Celtics in Game 7 at TD Banknorth Garden. Gordon also registered three rebounds and four assists.

Our View:Gordon topped 30 points for the second time in the series, but his performance was not enough to bump off the defending champs.
May 2, 2009
Guard Ben Gordon is trying to push away notions that his sore left hamstring was the cause of his problems in Game 6. "It's not really getting better but in Game 6, my minutes were staggered because of foul trouble and the rotation," Gordon informs the Chicago Tribune. "I wasn't able to work up a lather like the first game I played with it. I couldn't get loose the whole game."

Our View:We fully expect Gordon to play as much as possible in Game 7. After all, this is the greatest series of all-time, right? Or is the media just exaggerating a little bit?
April 30, 2009
Ben Gordon has been nursing a strained hamstring, but is good to go for tonight's Game 6 at the United Center, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:His leg is still bothering him, but will try to loosen it up before the battle. He is averaging 25 points per game in the series, and the Bulls are facing elimination while down 3-2.
April 28, 2009
Ben Gordon led the Bulls with 26 points, but it wasn't enough as they fell in overtime to the Celtics 106-104 on Tuesday. Boston now leads the series three games to two.

Our View:Gordon had three rebounds and six assists to go with his 26 points, but he was just 6-of-21 from the field. Almost half of his points came from the free throw line. It's hard to blame the guy though as he was essentially playing on one leg tonight.
April 28, 2009
Updating a previous report, Ben Gordon will attempt to play in tonight's game, according to the Chicago Tribune. He's been dealing with a strained hamstring, but is willing to fight through it.

Our View:The hamstring is apparently swollen and painful, but he looked better than expected in the pregame workout. He'll give it a go, but the injury could be easily aggravated in the game and the Bulls would lose their leading postseason scorer.
April 28, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Ben Gordon will be a game-time call for tonight's Game 5 at Boston, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He is dealing with a strained left hamstring and did not sound optimistic following the morning shootaround, as Gordon said, "I do not think it feels any worse, but it has not gotten any better." When asked if he will play tonight, Gordon answered, "I do not know yet. I am going to wait and see how it feels."

Our View:Gordon did not miss a game in the regular season, and would be a very tough loss for Chicago if unable to go tonight with the series tied 2-2. Teammate Derrick Rose expects Gordon to play, and called him a fighter.
April 28, 2009
Ben Gordon is probable for tonight's Game 5 at the Celtics, according to the Boston Globe. He suffered a strained left hamstring during Chicago's win in Game 4.

Our View:This is good news for the Bulls as Gordon is averaging 24.7 points in the series, which is currently tied 2-2.
April 27, 2009
Ben Gordon is considered day-to-day after an MRI revealed that he is dealing with a strained left hamstring, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:Gordon expects to play in Tuesday's game 5 at Boston. The series is currently tied 2-2.
April 27, 2009
Ben Gordon is slated for an MRI after straining a hamstring in the first half of Sunday's double-overtime win over the Celtics, according to ESPN. Gordon said, "I was driving and I heard something pop. It is sore; hopefully it is not too serious. I am going to do what I need to do."

Our View:Gordon has been performing well and it would be a tough loss for the Bulls if he is forced to miss time with the series with Boston tied 2-2. Gordon is averaging 24.7 points in the series.
April 26, 2009
Guard Ben Gordon scored 22 points and added six rebounds in Sunday's Game 4 win over the Celtics. He hit 10-of-22 shots.

Our View:Gordon was part of a balanced attack for the Bulls, which is a key for the team if they plan to advance.
April 23, 2009
Ben Gordon led the Bulls with 15 points on Thursday as they fell to the Celtics 107-86. Boston now leads the series 2-1.

Our View:Gordon failed to impress like he did in game one of this series. He was only 5-of-13 from the field and 1-of-4 from behind the arc. The Bulls struggled in general against a tough Celtic defense.
April 20, 2009
Ben Gordon exploded for a career playoff-high 42 points against Boston on Monday, going 14-of-24 from the field, 6-of-11 on threes and 8-of-9 from the free throw line.

Our View:Gordon was on fire in the fourth quarter and was really the only offensive option Chicago needed down the stretch, seemingly unable to miss a shot. Unfortunately for the Bulls, Ray Allen was equally as hot and got the last laugh on a three-pointer with two seconds left to win the game, evening the series after two games.
April 18, 2009
Ben Gordon chipped in 20 points in Saturday's 105-103 overtime win over the Celtics in Game 1 of the playoffs at TD Banknorth Garden. Gordon also collected three rebounds and five assists.

Our View:Gordon was the Bulls' only starter to not commit a turnover today.
April 11, 2009
Ben Gordon erupted for 39 points in the Bulls' 113-106 win over the Bobcats on Saturday.

Our View:He had three rebounds and two assists in the game as well, but it's likely no one noticed with a point total like that. This was his highest total since he put up 43 on March 9th.
April 9, 2009
Ben Gordon tied for a team-high with 24 points against Philadelphia on Thursday in the Bulls' 113-99 win. He also recorded three assists and seven boards.

Our View:Gordon wasn't exactly shooting the United Center lights out, with his 9-for-19 clip, but he made four of his eight attempts from beyond the arc. It was the 33rd time this season he's shot 50 percent or better from downtown.
April 4, 2009
Ben Gordon chipped in 18 points in Saturday's 103-94 win over New Jersey, with three rebounds and one assist.

Our View:It was not a geat outing for Gordon, but he still bounced back from a poor performance against Indiana is which he was limited to 12 points while shooting 5-for-18 from the field.
March 29, 2009
Ben Gordon shot 15-of-26 from the field and scored a game-high 37 points in the Bulls' 134-129 overtime loss in Toronto on Sunday.

Our View:Gordon is bound to have a game like this once in a while because of the frequency with which he can throw up shots. However, his 26 field-goal attempts on Sunday were a season-high.
March 23, 2009
Ben Gordon scored a team-high 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting to lead the Bulls to a 101-99 road win over the Wizards on Monday.

Our View:Since posting a season-high 43 points against the Heat on March 9, Gordon has been so-so, averaging 16 points in seven games, including consecutive performances of fewer of than 10 points.
March 14, 2009
Ben Gordon scored 27 points to go with five assists, four rebounds, and three three-pointers in Chicago's 97-79 win over the Hornets on Saturday.

Our View:Gordon had totaled just 13 points in his previous two games, so tonight's performance was somewhat of an indication that he has not completely given up on the season. Seeing how he is playing for a contract, it would seem likely that he remains aggressive as the Bulls battle for a playoff spot.
March 9, 2009
Ben Gordon scored a season-high 43 points in Monday's 130-127 double overtime loss to the Heat. He also chipped in three rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block.

Our View:Gordon now has 77 points over his last two games and he made over 50 percent of his shots in each of those two contests.
March 7, 2009
Ben Gordon scored 34 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including 4-of-6 from behind the arc, to lead the Bulls to a 117-102 win over the Bucks.

Our View:Gordon's performance Friday could be seen as something of an offensive explosion, as he hasn't scored more than 17 points or shot better than 47 percent in any of his past seven games.
February 24, 2009
Ben Gordon poured in 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting in the Bulls' 120-102 win over the Magic on Tuesday.

Our View:Gordon has been great lately, approaching 28 points per game in his last five games. He has been paying off big time for fantasy owners of late.
February 22, 2009
Ben Gordon posted a game-high 28 points on Sunday to go with four steals, one assists, and one steal.

Our View:Gordon has really picked up his offense lately, averaging over 28 points-per-game over his last six contests.
February 20, 2009
Ben Gordon had a fantastic night for the Bulls on Friday, finishing with 37 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. He was 13-of-23 from the field including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

Our View:This was Gordon's second game in his last three in which he's scored at least 34 points.
February 12, 2009
Ben Gordon was huge for the Bulls with 34 points as the Bulls lost 95-93 to the Heat on Thursday.

Our View:Gordon scored 14 points from the line, going 14-of-16 in the game. He was 10-of-21 from the field, adding five rebounds in the loss.
February 7, 2009
Ben Gordon scored 25 points as the Bulls fell 115-114 in overtime to the Mavericks on Saturday. He was 8-of-17 from the field and 3-for-5 from the three-pointer.

Our View:Gordon also had five turnovers in the loss. He has been passing better of late, but he does not provide much fantasy value aside from three-pointers and points.
February 4, 2009
Ben Gordon scored 19 points and handed out seven assists as the Bulls defeated the Hornets 107-93 on Wednesday.

Our View:We can't say we saw this coming. In three of his last five games, Gordon has recorded at least six assists. Gordon usually likes to pass the ball as much as he likes to sign contracts in a timely manner, but he has been much more of a team-player of late, and the Bulls are winning.
January 31, 2009
Ben Gordon scored 26 points and dished out six assists as the Bulls defeated the Suns 122-111 on Sunday. He was 5-for-7 from three-point range.

Our View:This was Gordon's best game of the month. He appeared to slump right around the same time that Kirk Hinrich returned to the lineup. The Bulls have now won three in a row, and perhaps Gordon is finally settling into his role.
January 25, 2009
Ben Gordon picked up 23 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal in Sunday's 109-108 overtime loss to Minnesota.

Our View:Gordon's play has been a bit inconsistent lately, as he was held to single digits in scoring twice in the last six games. He has not been that limited in scoring at any other time this season, but he has picked it up in his last three games, totaling 63 points during those contests.
January 22, 2009
The Chicago Tribune reports that Ben Gordon was fined by the Bulls recently for violating an unspecified team rule. He is not expected to miss any playing time.

Our View:Coach Vinny Del Negro has some of the strictest team rules in the league, including no eating before games (in the locker room, at least). Gordon has had some alarming performances of late, including three games of 10 points or less over his last five. The drop in production could be a result of Kirk Hinrich's return to the lineup.
January 20, 2009
Ben Gordon scored 21 points and recorded four rebounds and four assists in the Bulls' 105-102 loss to the Hawks Tuesday.

Our View:Gordon struggled once again from behind the arc Tuesday, going 1-for-5. This month he has made 16 of 54 three-point attempts, which is less than 30 percent.
January 18, 2009
Ben Gordon is struggling with an injured left groin and a sore right ankle, but he continues to struggle on, according to the Chicago Tribune. "I know my team needs me right now, so I'm trying to play through it," Gorden said. "I feel a lot better now. I just can't jump and explode."

Our View:In the two games since straining the groin, Gordon has averaged 11 points and five boards in just over 20 minutes of action per game. Don't expect him to come out of the lineup any time soon unless he further aggravates one of the injuries.
January 18, 2009
Ben Gordon scored a team-high 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting as the Bulls lost 92-87 to the Spurs on Saturday.

Our View:Gordon is the sort of player that can be as good as he wants to be, but he has to minimize the turnovers. He has thrown the ball away less than two times in a game just twice all month.
January 10, 2009
Ben Gordon scored a team-high 22 points on Saturday in a 109-98 overtime loss to the Thunder. He also finished with three assists, one steal, and one block.

Our View:Gordon has scored 20+ points in four of his last five games for the Bulls.
January 6, 2009
Ben Gordon led the Bulls with 24 points in their 99-94 win over the Sacramento Kings.

Our View:Gordon goes over 20 points for the third time in his last five games, but his three-point shooting has gone cold lately, as he's hit just four of his last 15 from beyond the arc.
January 2, 2009
Ben Gordon led the Bulls with 22 points in Friday's 117-92 loss to the Cavaliers, with four rebounds, four assists and one steal. He missed both of his attempts from three-point range.

Our View:Gordon continues to perform well for fantasy owners, but could not prevent the Bulls from losing for the fifth time over their last six games.
