July 8, 2009 The Cavaliers have re-signed unrestricted free agent Anderson Varejao to a six year, $50 million deal, according to Our View:This is good news for Cavs fans. Varejao still leaves much to be desired as an offensive player, but has slowly turned into a defensive force, and was maybe the Cavaliers second best player during the playoffs last year. He isn't a great fantasy option yet, but does pull down an above average number of rebounds. |

June 30, 2009 Anderson Varejao has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Cavs, and is set to become an unrestricted free agent, according to Our View:The Cavs would still like to retain his services, and will have to battle the Thunder, Grizzlies and Pistons, and potentially a few other clubs as well. Varejao held a solid 53.6 shooting percentage in 2008-09. |
