Our View:Stoudemire had appeared to be phoning it in lately because of trade rumors, but he came back with a vengeance in this one. Nothing like trying to quell trade talk with your highest scoring output of the season. Looks like he's finally going about things the right way. |

January 30, 2010 After phoning it in yet again on Thursday, star Suns center Amar'e Stoudemire was benched for the foruth quarter of the team's 112-106 win over the Mavericks, according to the Arizona Republic. Our View:Stoudemire appears to have quit on the Suns, and even admitted in a postgame interview on Thursday that it has been hard for him to play his hardest through all the trade speculation. Expect these next few weeks to be his final ones in Phoenix. |

Our View:Off-the-court, teammates have begun to question his effort and focus, while on-the-court, he has just 27 total rebounds in Phoenix's past five games. January 27, 2010 Despite coach Mike D'Antoni's affinity for him, Amar'e Stoudemire isn't likely to end up with the Knicks, either via trade this season or free agency next summer, according to the New York Daily News. Our View:He won't be traded there because of the Knicks' complete lack of anything appealing to offer in return, and he won't be signed there because the team apparently does not view him as someone good enough to be the highest paid player on a team. With the Knicks being experts when it comes to overpaying players, that's saying something. |

Our View:Negotiations on a contract extension between Stoudemire and the Suns have reportedly come to a standstill, while the Bulls have long coveted him. A package involving Kirk Hinrich or Luol Deng with Tyrus Thomas could do the trick. Stay tuned. |

January 25, 2010 With negotiations between the Suns and Amar'e Stoudemire on a contract extension at a standstill, the Suns have increased their effort to trade him, according to Yahoo! Sports. Our View:The Suns will reportedly take the best offer they get prior to the Feb. 18 trade deadline, with Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Cleveland and Golden State all having shown at least some interest. Amar'e will be a free agent after this season and surely be looking for big money, though there's no doubt that he can be a major help to any team looking to make a playoff run this season. |

January 24, 2010 The Arizona Republic reports that Golden State, Minnesota and Cleveland have each shown interest in acquiring Amar'e Stoudemire. Our View:The general consensus is that Stoudemire is interested in moving on from the Suns, so they would be wise to listen to offers. Although he has played much better since a poor November, it's unlikely the Suns would be serious contenders this season even if they kept him. Whoever he finishes the season with will be able to offer him the most money when he becomes a free agent this summer. |

January 21, 2010 Amar'e Stoudemire hasn't ruled out signing with the Nets as a free agent next summer, according to the New York Post. Our View:"There are some teams you may say, 'no way,'" Stoudemire said. "I don't think the Nets are one of them." Those are rich comments coming after a blowout Suns victory that dropped New Jersey to a stunning 3-38 on the season. They can only mean one thing: Stoudemire is determined to get rich next summer, and does not care where. |
