Gilbert Arenas does not want to play for the Wizards again as long as Ernie Grunfeld remains the team president, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Grunfeld has completely thrown Arenas under-the-bus since his gun saga first started making waves last month, so Arenas' statement isn't at all surprising. That being said, Arenas will likely soon become familiar with an age old adage: "beggars can't be choosers."
January 27, 2010
Gilbert Arenas has asked the NBA player's union not to appeal his season-long suspension, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:They will reportedly honor his request. Agent Zero is apparently doing all he can to foster good will between himself and the league, and this is another positive step. The dignified in which he has handled his banishment should likely go a long way toward convincing the Wizards to keep him in 2010-11, or another team to take a chance on him.

Gilbert Arenas, who met with NBA commissioner David Stern today, has apparently asked to be suspended for the rest of the season, a request that Stern will abide by, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:An official announcement is expected to be made by Stern later today. While some may view Arenas' request and failure to fight the suspension as commendable, the fact of the matter is that he probably would've gotten the same suspension regardless of how he acted at today's meeting. Owners in non-keeper leagues have probably already cut Arenas loose, but just in case, it looks like it will 100 percent safe to do so after Stern's pending announcement.
January 27, 2010
Gilbert Arenas will meet face-to-face with NBA commissioner David Stern on Wednesday, their first meeting since Arenas' gun incident, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:A finite suspension for Arenas (as well as Javaris Crittenton, who met with Stern yesterday) could be announced at some point today after the meeting occurs. While it will be nice for Arenas to have a concrete suspension, his outlook for the rest of this season remains shaky at best.
January 23, 2010
The NBA will announce a concrete suspension for Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton sometime next week, possibly as early as Wednesday, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:Arenas has missed the Wizards' past 10 games on an indefinite suspension. While it will be nice to know for sure exactly how long he'll be out, his status for the rest of the season remains bleak.

Speculation persists that the Orlando Magic could be a landing spot for Gilbert Arenas once his suspension and legal troubles are behind him, according to ESPN.

Our View:People are focusing on the fact that Magic general manager Otis Smith was a member of the Warriors' personnel team when they drafted Arenas in 2001. That seems like a rather flimsy connection, but considering that Arenas' troubles are still only in their infancy, we won't have an answer for quite a while.
January 17, 2010
The Magic could be another possible landing spot for troubled guard Gilbert Arenas if he is eventually traded or released, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:Magic general manager Otis Smith worked in the Warriors front office when the club drafted Arenas in 2001, and still serves as something of a mentor for him. Any potential Arenas move is a long way down the line, but the Magic seem like a legitimate possibility for his services.
January 16, 2010
When asked about on Friday, Knicks president Donnie Walsh refused to dismiss the possibility of New York trading for emabbtled Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas at some point down-the-line, according to ESPN.

Our View:"I don't know if (Arenas is) available, and I don't know if he's going to be able to play," he said. "There are a lot of questions, and we'll have to see as time passes what the story is, but I know this: When I had guys in the same situation, I traded all of them." Any potential Arenas trade is a very far away possibility, but at some point, the odds are he will be shipped out of Washington.

Gilbert Arenas will not be sentenced in his felony carrying a pistol without a license case until March 26, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post. He pleaded guilty to the charge on Friday.

Our View:That would seem to rule out his return this season, as there is little chance he would be reinstated before his sentencing. With there being just four weeks left in the season after March 26, expect his indefinite suspension to encompass all of 2009-10.
January 15, 2010
The plea agreement Gilbert Arenas has reportedly reached in his weapons possession case, agreeing to a "single felony count of carrying a pistol without a license in exchange for avoiding jail time," would "not be enough to allow the Wizards to void the $80 million remaining on the six-year, $111 million contract" he signed in the summer of 2008, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Supposedly, neither side wants him to continue playing for the Wizards if and when he is reinstated to the league by commissioner David Stern. The Wizards do not want him back for obvious reasons, while Arenas is reportedly displeased with the lack of support the club has shown him throughout his ordeal. With his suspension likely running for the rest of the 2009-10 season, expect the issue to come to a head next summer.
January 14, 2010
Updating a previous report, Gilbert Arenas has reached a plea agreement for his felony gun charge that is expected to keep him out of jail, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:There is not yet a 100 percent guarantee that he'll avoid the slammer, but it now appears very likely. Still, we don't expect him to play in another game this season and he'll probably be searching for a new team as well. Expect the Wizards to cut ties with him completely, and expect more knucklehead updates to come.
January 14, 2010
Gilbert Arenas has been charged with felony gun possession, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:The charge carries a maximum of five years in jail along with a fine, though Arenas' attorney has been negotiating a plea bargain with the prosecutors. Details of the bargain have yet to surface, though we'll be sure to have more on this story as they leak. For now, you can expect Arenas, currently on an indefinite suspension, to remain out of action for the foreseeable future.
January 6, 2010
Gilbert Arenas' indefinite suspension could be leading to a more "substantial" suspension, and perhaps something "worse," according to commissioner David Stern (via the Washington Post).

Our View:Could Agent Zero get permanently banned from the league? It definitely sounds like a possibility. Though no official word has been sent down, his chances of playing again in 2009-10 seem to be between slim and none. Randy Foye and Earl Boykins will pick up his lost minutes.
January 6, 2010
NBA commissioner David Stern has announced that troubled Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas has been suspended indefinitely, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:Stern says Arenas, who is currently facing weapons charges after bringing unloaded firearms into Washington's locker room, is "unfit" to play in the NBA for the moment. Agent Zero, while a unique NBA talent and personality, has seemingly gone off-the-rails off late, not only with his gun incidenet, but also with his increasingly bizarre, stream-of-consciousness Twitter account. Hopefully he can eventually come back stronger than ever. Stay tuned.
January 6, 2010
Gilbert Arenas could be suspended by the NBA "before the legal process plays out fully" in his weapons-possession case, according to ESPN.

Our View:The league almost always waits to punish players until the legal system has played out, but since Arenas has already admitted to bringing the guns onto league property, they may act early in this case. Considering the public relations disaster he has caused, a suspension is likely imminent.
January 5, 2010
Gilbert Arenas scored 19 points with 14 assists in the Wizards' win over Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Our View:The 14 dimes represented a season-high, and he's now topped eight in five of the past six games. Still, he remains highly at risk to be slapped with a suspension, and it could be a significant one, due to his possession of firearms in the Wizards' locker room. It'd certainly be a shrewd move to sell high on him right now to an owner not completely up-to-date on how serious Arenas' potential suspension could be.
January 5, 2010
Gilbert Arenas could be in line to get suspended by the NBA even before the legal process with his case involving gun possession plays itself out, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:Arenas has publicly admitted to possessing firearms on Wizards property, which is a violation in itself and could give David Stern reason for such a suspension. Stay tuned, but Arenas owners should feel very unsafe with their commodity at this point.
January 4, 2010
The Wizards are considering trading troubled guard Gilbert Arenas, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Obviously, highly unsurprising news. While it makes sense for the Wiz to move Agent Zero, it would make considerably less sense for any of the league's other 29 teams to take on an overpaid injury risk facing possible federal gun charges and a lengthy NBA suspension. Arenas will be staying in Washington for the foreseeable future.
January 3, 2010
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports believes that Gilbert Arenas could eventually be suspended for "months" or the remainder of the season by the NBA for his role in the Wizards' gun saga.

Our View:Arenas continues to laugh the incident off on his bizarre Twitter feed, but the NBA is surely fuming. Once all the facts are gathered, it's a safe bet that commissioner David Stern will come down extremely hard on Agent Zero.
January 3, 2010
Wizards coach Flip Saunders has denied a Yahoo! Sports report that characterizes Gilbert Arenas as a "disruptive force" in practice, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

Our View:"That's not true. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story," was Saunders' exact quote. Fair or not, Arenas' recent inanity has put him in a position to be the subject or rumor and innuendo, and he has no one to blame but himself.
January 3, 2010
More details of the Gilbert Arenas gun saga have recently come to light, according to the Washington Post. According to Arenas and other sources, he did not actually pull a gun on teammate Javaris Crittenton, but instead, as the punchline to some bizarre joke, placed three on a chair in the Wizards' locker room and told Crittenton to "pick one."

Our View:It was Arenas' way of "joking" after Crittenton had earlier mockingly told him he was going to shoot him in his left knee (the knee Arenas has injured many times in his career) after the two got into a dispute over a card game on the team plane. After being told to "pick one," Crittenton reportedly threw one of the guns across the club's locker room, saying he already had his own gun. It sounds like a sad, twisted and ultimately deeply weird situation is unfolding in Washington.
January 3, 2010
NBA.com reports that the investigation into the possible gun possession of Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton will put any trade discussions the Wizards could be having on hold.

Our View:The Wizards were seemingly set to blow up the roster and probably still are, but the possible ramifications from this investigation could be substantial enough that they don't want to play their cards too early. They may want some players back in the long run.
January 2, 2010
Gilbert Arenas tallied 23 points and a game-high eight assists in tonight's 97-86 loss to the Spurs. He also had three rebounds.

Our View:This was an encouraging performance for Arenas, as he was uncertain to play due to his ailing knee. Agent Zero averages 25.7 points over his last four contests.
January 2, 2010
Updating an earlier report, Gilbert Arenas has been deemed fit to play in tonight's game against the Spurs, according to Michael Lee's (Washington Post) twitter page.

Our View:Agent Zero is dealing with a sore knee, but should be OK to plug into fantasy lineups.
January 2, 2010
According to the Washington Post, Gilbert Arenas may be held out of Saturday's game against the Spurs due to soreness in his knee.

Our View:This sounds a bit fishy. With all the trouble Arenas is in it wouldn't surprise us if he cooked up an excuse to stay out of the spotlight on Saturday. Either way, he will likely be a game-time decision and Earl Boykins would benefit substantially if Arenas sits.
January 1, 2010
ESPN reports that the minimum punishment for brandishing a firearm outside of your home is five years in Washington D.C. Gilbert Arenas is currently under investigation for an alleged dispute that he and teammate Javaris Crittenton allegedly drew guns on each in the Wizards' locker room over a gambling dispute.

Our View:Arenas could be in serious trouble, but has denied the story. None of the Wizards would confirm it when asked after practice on Friday.
January 1, 2010
Gilbert Arenas has said he is considering suing the New York Post, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post. The New York Post is the paper that broke the bizarre story of Arenas and teammate Javaris Crittenton allegedly drawing guns on each in the Wizards' locker room over a gambling dispute.

Our View:Arenas has said "that's not the real story." For his sake, he better hope it's not. Stay tuned.
January 1, 2010
According to Yahoo! Sports, the Wizards are preparing to "demolish" their roster.

Our View:That's what happens when you start a season 10-20 a year after going 19-63, especially when your star player gets busted bringing guns into the locker room. Things look like they are only going to get uglier in D.C. before they get better.
January 1, 2010
According to Fox Sports, Gilbert Arenas and teammate Javaris Crittenton both allegedly drew guns on each other in a Christmas Eve gambling dispute.

Our View:As you know, Arenas is currently being investigated by police for illegally storing guns in his locker. Were this story to turn out to be true, he could be in considerably more trouble. Stay tuned.
