Newsbreakers
November 20, 2009
Zach Randolph scored 21 points and hauled in 11 rebounds on Friday as the Grizzlies defeated the 76ers 102-97.

Our View:Randolph and Rudy Gay combined for 54 points and 21 rebounds tonight, and they have turned into one of the better duos in the league. Randolph is averaging a double-double this season with 18.2 points and 10.2 rebounds a game, and he should continue to be right around those numbers nearly every night.
November 18, 2009
Zach Randolph helped lead the Grizzlies in tonight's 106-91 win over the Clippers, as he notched 21 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one block.

Our View:Randolph topped 20 points for the fourth time this season. He is a productive power forward when he isn't hindered by an injury.
November 11, 2009
Zach Randolph notched a double-double in tonight's 104-79 loss at Houston, with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He also had one steal.

Our View:Randolph is fitting in well in Memphis, and recorded a double-double in six straight games. He should remain a solid fantasy option.
November 3, 2009
Zach Randolph was very good on Monday as the Grizzlies fell to the Kings 127-116. Randolph scored 30 points and added 16 rebounds and an assist in the loss.

Our View:Randolph was the go-to guy from the start tonight, but he fouled out in overtime and the game got out of hand. He has been much more versatile this season thus far, and thus his fantasy value has increased.
November 1, 2009
Zach Randolph had just 12 points and six rebounds in a game in which the Grizzlies scored 122 points, but he did manage a rare seven assists. He shot 6-for-11 from the field.

Our View:Randolph put up 44 points in his first two games and he shot well tonight, so scoring isn't the problem. Perhaps for the first time in his career, Z-Bo, often referred to as a "black hole", is actually concerned with facilitating buckets for his teammates. He has 12 assists through three games.
October 30, 2009
Zach Randolph poured in a team-high 30 points in Friday's 115-107 win over the Raptors. He also chipped in seven rebounds, three assists and a block.

Our View:Randolph is fitting in well with Memphis, evidenced by tonight's strong performance.
October 28, 2009
Zach Randolph had a quiet Grizzlies debut on Wednesday, scoring 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds in a 96-74 loss to the Pistons.

Our View:With Marc Gasol in tow, Randolph doesn't seem likely to average 20 and ten this season, but will start put up more than acceptable fantasy numbers.
October 14, 2009
Zach Randolph scored 18 points and added 18 boards in the Grizzlies' 111-96 loss to the Hawks on Wednesday. Randolph also added a steal in the loss.

Our View:Randolph figures to be a nice addition to the young Grizzlies' lineup this season, and he has shown why he is so valuable this preseason. He is a very good scorer and rebounder, and he should be a fine fantasy play this season.
October 6, 2009
Zach Randolph recorded a double-double in tonight's 101-92 preseason loss to Washington, as he scored 10 points and 11 rebounds. He also picked up two assists and a steal.

Our View:Randolph looks to fit in well in his first season with Memphis, and should be safe to target as a No. 1 fantasy option.
July 17, 2009
Updating a previous report, the Zach Randolph trade to Memphis in exchange for Quentin Richardson has been made official, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Randolph averaged 20.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game with the Clippers last season.

Our View:This deal was announced earlier this month, but it was made offical today. The move opens up a spot in the starting lineup for number one pick Blake Griffin in LA, and they get sharpshooter Quentin Richardson as well.
July 1, 2009
Zach Randolph has been traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for Quentin Richardson, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:This does much more than give the Clippers Richardson - it frees up a place in the starting lineup for number one overall pick Blake Griffin. Randolph was solid for the Clippers in 2008-09 after coming over from the Knicks in a trade, averaging 20.9 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, but just didn't fit in with the team's longterm plans after getting Griffin.
April 6, 2009
Updating a previous report, the Clippers have suspended Zach Randolph for their next two games following his DUI arrest on Monday morning, according to the Orange County Register.

Our View:Randolph is the team's leading scorer, and one of only two players in the league averaging at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. For many fantasy owners, it is championship week, and if you can feel a spot in your starting lineup with another player other than Randolph, you have to consider the move.
April 6, 2009
Zach Randolph has been arrested for investigation of drunken driving, according to ESPN. California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Garrett indicated that two officers spotted a white Rolls-Royce weaving on Interstate 405 at around 2:25 a.m. Monday, and identified Randolph as the driver.

Our View:Garrett reported that alcohol could be smelled from inside the vehicle and after conducting a field sobriety test, Randolph was arrested and taken to the Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles, and Randolph was later released on $5,000 bail. The Clippers are yet to comment on the incident.
April 4, 2009
Zach Randolph put up 22 points and 12 rebounds on 10-of-20 shooting as the Clippers fell to the Nuggets 120-104 on Saturday.

Our View:Remarkably, there are just two players in the league averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds this season - Dwight Howard and Zach Randolph. Sure, he looks like he's sleep walking through a lot of games, but at the end of the day, Randolph is a very productive scorer and rebounder. Just don't expect much in terms of defense.
April 2, 2009
Zach Randolph's Clippers got snipped by the Hornets 104-98 Wednesday, but Randolph had a nice game. He was good for 24 points, 14 rebounds and three assists.

Our View:This was his first double-double in four games, which isn't great for a man who's averaging 21 points and ten rebounds for the season. His 24 points almost equal what he did in his two prior games.
March 28, 2009
Zach Randolph and the Clippers were beaten by the Rockets, 110-93, and Randolph managed just 12 points and eight rebounds.

Our View:The big lefty did have four assists in the contest, but could not muster anything near his 21.2 points per game average.
March 25, 2009
Zach Randolph scored 33 points as the Clippers defeated the Knicks 140-135 in overtime on Wednesday. The power forward also picked up six boards, three assists, and two steals while hitting 15-of-21 shots against his former team.

Our View:One has to wonder how good Randolph could be if he really went hard every night. He is averaging 21 points and 10.3 rebounds on the year, but often looks as if he is sleep walking through the game. Perhaps this says something about the coaches in the NBA.
March 23, 2009
Zach Randolph scored a team-high 17 points and led all rebounders with 14 Monday night as the Clippers lost a 90-77 decision to the Celtics at TD Banknorth Garden.

Our View:Randolph recorded his first double-double in four games. Previously, he had not gone more than two games between double-doubles all season long.
March 22, 2009
Zach Randolph scored 20 points and collected seven rebounds as the Clippers fell to the Raptors 100-76 on Sunday. He hit 10-of-17 from the field.

Our View:Randolph has been his typical self after his prolonged absence due to the loss of his father. Aside from scoring and rebounding, Randolph does very little in the other fantasy categories.
March 17, 2009
Zach Randolph is expected to return to the court tonight at Golden State after missing the last two games to deal with the death of his father, according to the LA Times.

Our View:Randolph should be penciled back into fantasy lineups. He poured in 27 points, 11 boards and two blocks in his last game against the Warriors.
March 11, 2009
Zach Randolph had a double-double on Tuesday with 20 points and 12 rebounds against Cleveland.

Our View:Randolph has been through some personal things of late but continues to play strong for fantasy owners even with all the off the court issues.
March 6, 2009
1070 The Fan reports that Zach Randolph could possibly play on Saturday against the Pacers. He has missed the past two games to be with his critically ill father.

Our View:Randolph's priorities at the moment are not aligned with the Clippers, and it's understandable. We would not advise starting him tomorrow, but we should know more before then.
March 4, 2009
Zach Randolph is expected to miss tonight's game against the Grizzlies, according to the LA Times. His father is terminally ill.

Our View:It is uncertain when Randolph may return to action, and should be held out of fantasy lineups until further notice.
March 2, 2009
Zach Randolph missed Monday's game against the Spurs because of a family illness, according to Hoopsworld.

Our View:Randolph has been a double-double machine when healthy this season and he should be back for the Clippers next game.
March 1, 2009
Zach Randolph scored a game-high 33 points on Saturday to go with nine rebounds, two assists, and one block.

Our View:Randolph has now scored 30+ points twice in his last three games.
February 26, 2009
Zach Randolph scored 30 points on 12-of-30 shooting and the Clippers defeated the Celtics 93-91 on Wednesday. He also had 12 rebounds in the game.

Our View:30 points is nice and all, but not so much whenever you have to fire off 30 shots to get it. Regardless, points are points and we'll take them.
February 24, 2009
Zach Randolph returned from his two-game suspension to help lead the Clippers to a 118-105 win over the Warriors on Monday. He finished the victory with 27 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.

Our View:It's still somewhat baffling that a player with his type of track record only served a two-game suspension for punching another player in the face. Perhaps the league feels that playing for the Clippers is a harsh enough penalty. Still, Randolph is one of the more reliable 20-point, 10-rebound guys in the league.
February 23, 2009
Zach Randolph is eligible to return to the court tonight after serving his two-game suspension for striking Louis Amundson in the face during battle with the Suns, according to ClipsNation.com.

Our View:Randolph may not play though, as he has been attending to his ailing father in Indiana. Stay tuned for further updates regarding his status.
February 18, 2009
Zach Randolph has been dealt a two-game suspension for striking the Suns' Louis Amundson in the face, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:He will be forced to sit out tonight's rematch with the Suns and Sunday's outing at Portland. Adjust your lineups accordingly.
February 17, 2009
Zach Randolph was ejected from the Clippers game against the Suns for connecting on a punch he threw at Phoenix's Louis Amundson, reports the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Undoubtedly, commissioner David Stern will be suspending Randolph for a few games due to the incident.
February 9, 2009
Zach Randolph led all scorers with 20 points and also had 10 rebounds, but the Clippers fell in Charlotte 94-73 on Monday.

Our View:Z-Bo missed his only three-point attempt in the game. He was 7-for-8 from long distance in his previous two games.
February 7, 2009
Zach Randolph hit 10-of-18 from the field and finished with 25 points in the Clippers 121-97 win over the Hawks. He collected nine rebounds and hit three three-pointers in the game.

Our View:Randolph has totaled 60 points over his last two games and he has hit 7-of-8 three-point attempts in those games. He has completely recovered from his knee injury, but there's no reason to think that he will remain this prolific from long distance.
February 7, 2009
Zach Randolph poured in a game-high 35 points on Friday to go with 10 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Our View:Randolph has only played in three games since returning from a knee injury, but he certainly looks safe to go back into fantasy lineups now.
February 4, 2009
Zach Randolph was much less effective in his second game back from a bruised knee that kept him out for more than a month. In Wednesday's 125-96 loss to Orlando, he finished with just eight points and six rebounds in 22 minutes.

Our View:It's only a matter of time before Z-Bo is back in the starting lineup and playing 35-plus minutes per game. He should remain a double-double machine in the second half of the season.
February 2, 2009
Zach Randolph returned to action on Monday and he scored 21 points off the bench as the Clippers lost 119-95 to the Heat.

Our View:Finally, Randolph has returned. He has missed nearly six weeks of action due to a bruised knee. Hopefully he was sporting knee pads in the loss. Expect him to be back in the starting lineup real soon.
January 31, 2009
The AP reports that coach Mike Dunleavy said that Zach Randolph is nearing his return and the coach is looking forward to it. He has not played since December 22 because of a bruised knee.

Our View:He didn't offer an exact date, but instead said "in the next week or so." We won't be holding our breath until he does, and neither should you. Keep him out of your lineups until further notice.
January 21, 2009
It is possible that Clippers big man Zach Randolph will be back sometime within the next two weeks, according to the L.A. Times.

Our View:Randolph is coming back from a bruised knee that has kept him out since late December. Fantasy owners would like to get his solid production in the lineup, but they'll have to remain patient.
January 18, 2009
The L.A. Times reports that Zach Randolph is battling nose and ear infections that may delay his return from a bruised knee. The power forward has missed 11 straight games to date. He did manage to take part in Saturday's shoot-around.

Our View:Seriously? We have to assume this means that his knee is getting closer to 100 percent (he has already been out longer than expected) but that an infection may keep the softie out longer still. He was averaging an impressive 22 points and 11 rebounds per game prior to the injury.
January 8, 2009
Zach Randolph will not be ready to return to the court tonight at San Antonio while nursing his sore knee, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Randolph could be on the shelf for up to two weeks, and should remain held out of fantasy lineups. He is averaging 22 points and 11 boards per battle.

January 4, 2009
The Los Angeles Times reports that Zach Randolph (knee) will not join the Clippers on their upcoming road trip. He could be out for another two weeks with his sore knee.

Our View:Z-Bo had been averaging 23.1 points in 14 games since being acquired from New York in a trade.
