Newsbreakers
November 16, 2009
Eddy Curry (calf) is expected to make his 2009-10 season debut on Wednesday, according to Newsday.

Our View:Curry is supposedly in the best shape of his career, but he is not expected to receive big minutes for the first few games he is back, as the team will ease him into the rotation. If not already owned, the offensively minded center is worth a flier in all formats.

A "chiseled" Eddy Curry (calf) returned to Knicks practice on Tuesday for the first time since training camp, according to Newsday.

Our View:Curry reportedly looked as lean as he had in some time, perhaps ever. He is down below 300 pounds after some reports had him as high as 360 toward the end of last season. With the Knicks woefully undersized up front, his potential return next week would be a huge boost.
November 5, 2009
The New York Knicks are expecting center Eddy Curry to be cleared for practice by next Tuesday, according to the New York Post. Curry is scheduled to be reevaluated on Sunday as he recovers from his calf injury.

Our View:The team sounds pretty confident that Curry will be ready to get on the floor Tuesday, but we should know more Sunday for sure. He played in only three games last season, but could be worth keeping an eye on if he comes back healthy.
October 6, 2009
Dealing with a calf injury, Eddy Curry is not expected to be ready for opening night (October 28) of the NBA season, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:Wholly unsurprising, considering that Curry has played in just 62 games the past two seasons, including only three last year. He can't be believed as a viable fantasy player in 2009-10 until it is seen.
April 1, 2009
The New York Daily News reports that Eddy Curry missed Tuesday's game due to inflammation in his left knee. He managed to appear in two straight games for a grand total on nine minutes prior to suffering the crippling pain in his knee.

Our View:This virtually eliminates the chance of the Knicks trading Curry in the offseason. Their one hope may be that the Clippers hire Isiah Thomas who traded for the Curry when he was with the Knicks. Curry has the right mix of awful attitude, declining ability, and terrible contract the Thomas cherishes.
March 26, 2009
Eddy Curry might get into a game this season, according to the New York Post. He could see some action on Friday against the Hornets.

Our View:Regardless of how many minutes he gets on Friday, don't expect him to contribute fantasy-wise. He is more or less a wasted roster spot.
March 7, 2009
Eddy Curry practiced on Friday, but coach Mike D'Antoni still seems very unlikely to play him this season, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:Curry has had his most forgettable season in a career that is full of them. The Knicks are in the playoff hunt, and they seem content with their current rotation.
March 5, 2009
Eddy Curry has decided to countersue his former driver for allegedly divulging details of the two's settlement stemming from a sexual harassment against the Knicks center, according New York Daily News.

Our View:Curry, who allegedly exposed himself to the driver, claims David Kuchinsky's attorneys spoke to reporters about details concerning the settlement.
February 21, 2009
The Associated Press reports that Chicago police have arrested a suspect in the Jan. 24 murder of Knicks forward Eddy Curry's former girlfriend and her infant child.

Our View:A spokesman for the Knicks said that Curry had no comment on the arrest.
February 11, 2009
Eddy Curry will resume practicing with the Knicks on Monday, February 16, the day after the All-Star game, according to the New York Post.

Our View:Curry is suffering from a swollen left knee. Far more tragically, the mother of two of his children and a one-year-old little girl that reportedly was Curry's were murdered in Chicago recently. His three-year-old son witnessed the incident.
January 31, 2009
In order to get control of financial debt, center Eddy Curry asked the Knicks for an $8 million advance last season, which the club rejected, the New York Daily News reports.

Our View:Instead, the team forwarded the center $2 million. He is currently on a leave of absence from the team because his former girlfriend and his nine-month old daughter were murdered in Chicago. Curry also has a son by the woman.
January 26, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Eddy Curry will not play in Monday's game against the Rockets as he's planning to return to Chicago to be with his son, according to the New York Daily News. Curry's ex-girlfriend and mother to his son, was murdered this weekend in Chicago.

Our View:Curry wasn't likely to play anyways due to a sore left knee, but his return to the team is now uncertain. We'll keep you posted on his status.

Eddy Curry is doubtful for tonight's meeting with the Rockets at Madison Square Garden due to his sore left knee, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View:Curry believes he can return by the end of the month, but is not quite ready yet. The Knicks look to be undersized in the paint, especially if center Yao Ming (knee) is able to play for Houston.
January 17, 2009
Eddy Curry's ailing left knee is feeling better but it remains uncertain when he may resume practicing, according to Newsday.

Our View:Curry, who only has one game under his belt this season, is confident he will return by the end of the month.
January 16, 2009
Eddy Curry is doubtful for Friday's game against the Wizards due to a sore knee, according to the NY Post.

Our View:He only has one game under his belt this season, and should remain reserved in fantasy leagues until he proves to be productive.
January 14, 2009
Eddy Curry is doubtful for tonight's home game against the Wizards with his sore right knee, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:He only has one game under his belt, and would not have been a recommended fantasy option if able to play anyway, despite a favorable match-up against Washington (7-30).
January 13, 2009
Knicks center Eddy Curry is being sued by his former driver for sexual harassment, according to the Sporting News Today. Curry denies the claims.

Our View:The driver, David Kuchinsky, says Curry solicited sex from him, twice pointed a gun at him, and forced him to do other "humiliating" things.
January 13, 2009
Knicks center Eddy Curry would like to be traded to either the Heat or Bulls, reports Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

Our View:Curry simply doesn't fit what Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni is trying to do. He is a native of Chicago, and the team doesn't have a true center, unless Aaron Gray or Joakim Noah count. The same can be said of the Heat, who started Joel Anthony at the 5 in their last contest.
January 12, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Eddy Curry is expected to miss Monday's game against the Hornets due to his ailing left knee, according to the NY Post.

Our View:Curry only has one game under his belt this season, and would have had a tough assignment against center Tyson Chandler and the Hornets if deemed fit to play tonight anyway.
January 12, 2009
Eddy Curry is questionable for Monday's outing with New Orleans due to his ailing left knee, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Curry would not be a recommended fantasy option if cleared to play tonight, especially while contending with center Tyson Chandler and the 22-11 Hornets.
January 11, 2009
The AP reports that Eddy Curry missed Saturday's game with a sore left knee. He had missed the first 33 games of the season with an injured right knee.

Our View:He made his debut earlier in the week, but he only played three minutes and finished with two points. He's not worth picking up until he can prove he will be able to play in coach Mike D'Antoni's offense.
January 8, 2009
Eddy Curry's two points in the first quarter of his season debut were his only points in New York's 99-94 loss at Dallas Thursday night.

Our View:Curry also grabbed a pair of rebounds in his two and a half minutes on the floor.
January 8, 2009
Knicks center Eddy Curry made his season debut Thursday night in Dallas with 2:42 left in the first period, according to the Associated Press.

January 6, 2009
Eddy Curry may make his 2008 debut with the Knicks tonight at Oklahoma City following his recovery from a knee injury, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:He would have a favorable match-up, but it may take him a few games to get into rhythm and serve as a viable fantasy option.
January 4, 2009
The AP reports that Eddy Curry (knee) could play on the Knicks upcoming four-game road trip.

Our View:The Knicks are currently only using seven players on most nights, so Curry may find some regular playing time. If the Knicks are indeed looking to trade him, they may showcase him during extended periods in games once he is ready to contribute.
January 3, 2009
Eddy Curry will be allowed to practice with the Knicks sometime in the middle of next week, according to the New York Post.

Our View:Curry is battling a knee malady, and it has been thought that he would return sometime in the middle of January, which, with this news, seems to be a realistic possibility.
