January 27, 2010
Pau Gasol scored 21 points to go along with 13 rebounds on Wednesday night, helping the Lakers ease by the Pacers 118-96.

Our View:The effort was just his third double-double since January 3. It was his second straight, however. He could be heating up.

Pau Gasol has a big game against Washington on Tuesday, scoring 26 points with 10 rebounds and four assists.

Our View:Gasol has been more aggressive than usual over his past few games and has now topped 20 points in three-straight contests.
January 24, 2010
Pau Gasol had 22 points on 23 shots as the Lakers lost to the Raptors. He added nine rebounds and two blocks in the loss.

Our View:Gasol was responsible for fouling Hedo Turkoglu with a second left. Turk hit both foul shots to give the Raptors the lead. Earlier in the day, Kobe Bryant called out Pau for being too soft.
January 24, 2010
Pau Gasol has been lambasted by teammate Kobe Bryant for being "too nice," according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:"Pau's too nice," Kobe said. "He's too nice of a guy." Specifically, Kobe wants Gasol to use his elbows more to create space, and to be more aggressive under the hoop. When Kobe talks, players usually listen, so expect to see a more fiery Gasol in the upcoming weeks.

Pau Gasol had a solid outing in tonight's 115-105 win at New York, as he tallied 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four blocks.

January 15, 2010
The Los Angeles Times reports that Pau Gasol (hamstring) is expected to return to the Lakers lineup against the Clippers on Friday after missing the team's past six games.

Our View:That's good news for a Lakers club that is 19-3 when Gasol plays this season, and "only" 11-6 when he doesn't. He is said to be completely over his hamstring injury, so you can expect something resembling the real Gasol when Los Angeles takes the court tonight.
January 12, 2010
According to the Orange County Register, Pau Gasol (hamstring) is expected to return to action on Friday.

Our View:Gasol will be held out of the Lakers next two games, raising his total to six missed with the injury. He has been doing light workouts on a treadmill, but it appears Andrew Bynum will have to continue to step up for at least the next two games. Monitor Gasol's condition though, as a setback is not out of the question.
January 11, 2010
Pau Gasol remains doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Spurs, according to the Orange County Register. He is recovering from a strained left hamstring.

Our View:Gasol worked on a treadmill today, but did not practice. He received treatment, and coach Phil Jackson did not have an update. Lamar Odom has been afforded more minutes in his absence.
January 10, 2010
The Orange County Register reports that Pau Gasol (hamstring) will travel with the team on the Lakers upcoming two-game road trip.

Our View:Gasol is not active for Sunday's game, but it's a good sign that he's traveling with the team. Still, he's not a lock to play in any of the game's this week and hasn't yet decided if he'll practice on Monday. He aggravated the injury while running on a treadmill Saturday and is expected to take the recovery slowly.
January 9, 2010
Updating an earlier report, Pau Gasol is expected to be a game-time call for Sunday's outing against the Bucks, according to the Orange County Register.

Our View:Gasol is progressing well in his recovery from a pulled left hamstring, and worked on a treadmill today. Lamar Odom would be afforded more playing time if Gasol is unable to go tomorrow.
January 9, 2010
Pau Gasol (hamstring) is expected to remain out tomorrow against the Bucks, according to the LA Times.

Our View:Gasol should be back somewhat soon but remains day-to-day for now. Keep him on your bench until you know that he'll be back.

Our View:Coach Phil Jackson noted that Gasol may be fit to return Sunday against the Bucks. If not, he is expected to play at some point next week.
January 6, 2010
On Wednesday ESPN reported that Pau Gasol's left hamstring injury has been categorized as a Grade 1 tear.

Our View:As nasty as this sounds, it's actually good news. The injury to his right hamstring that caused him to miss 11 games earlier this season was a Grade 2, so we don't expect him to be out too long. Keep an eye on his progress early next week.
January 6, 2010
Pau Gasol (hamstring) will sit out his second straight game on Wednesday night when the Lakers take on the Clippers, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:The Lakers handled the Rockets without their dominant big man on Tuesday, and will probably do the same against the Clippers on Wednesday. He is expected to miss 2-to-3 more games.
January 5, 2010
Pau Gasol will most likely have to miss 4-to-6 games with his latest hamstring injury, according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:His strain is a "Grade 1" strain, as opposed to the "Grade 2" strain that kept him out the first 11 games of the season. He was playing some of the best basketball of his career before going down. Hopefully he comes back as strong as before.
January 4, 2010

Pau Gasol left Sunday's game in the first quarter with with a strained left hamstring and didn't return.

Our View:He played just over seven minutes before his premature exit and recorded six points, two rebounds and an assist. No word on how serious the injury is, but the good news is it's not the same leg that kept him out of the first 11 games this season.
