According to the Los Angeles Times, Pau Gasol (hamstring) will finally make his 2009-10 season debut on Thursday night when the Lakers take on the Bulls.

Our View:Gasol has had several false starts, but tonight sounds for real. Without him, the Lakers have gotten off to an 8-3 start. With him, they should remain the league's top team until proven otherwise.

The LA Daily News is reporting that Lakers' center Pau Gasol is hoping to return to action Thursday night. Gasol has missed the first 11 games of the season with a hamstring injury.

Our View:It will be interesting to see if Pau goes on Thursday, because he has been close to returning several times already this season before backing out. He said he wasn't ready to play last night, so Thursday is by no means a sure thing. We will keep you posted.

According to the OC Register, Lakers' big man Pau Gasol "might" return to practice this week. Coach Phil Jackson said Gasol hasn't had pain in his hamstring for five days.

Our View:It sounds like Gasol is doing better, but Jackson wasn't at all definitve when discussing the prospect of him practicing this week. As always, Gasol owners need to check back periodically for on update on his condition.

Our View:He is expected to miss all seven of the team's games in the next two weeks. The Lakers are exercising extreme caution with their frontline lynch-pin, and it's very possible that he may not be back until sometime around the team's Christmas day showdown with Cleveland.

Our View:Gasol has yet to play this season and it doesn't look like his first game back will be Thursday against the Suns. The hamstring issue is lingering longer than owners would have liked and until he gets the official go ahead he should remain on fantasy benches.

Our View:Gasol has yet to play this season, and has barely practice in the past month. The team is optimistic that he may be able to play this Thursday, but with the way things have gone so far, that should be viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Our View:Gasol continues to improve, but he won't be ready to go until Sunday at the earliest, although he was far from confident that he would be ready to go by then either. Fantasy owners are likely getting frustrated, but stay patient and it will pay off in the end.

According to the LA Times, Pau Gasol will miss Wednesday's game against the Rockets with a strained hamstring.

Our View:The results of Gasol's MRI were positive and showed that the hamstring strain is not too severe, but he still won't be ready in time to face the Rockets. A return against the Grizzlies on Friday is a more likely scenario, but still not a guarantee. Keep Gasol on your bench until he is fully healed or at has at least been given medical clearance to play.

Our View:A recent sonogram indicated that he may have a tear. Gasol will not play tonight or Wednesday at Houston, and he should be held out of fantasy lineups until further notice.

Our View:Gasol has yet to play this year. He played in 81-of-82 games last season, but has been injury prone in the past, and may only play 50-to-60 games by the time it is all said and done this season.

Our View:Gasol is one of the best fantasy big men in the game, so his continued absence is hurting owners pretty bad. He likely won't be 100 percent because hamstring injuries linger and it takes a lot of time before the injury is back to complete health.

Our View:Gasol's teammates returned to practice Sunday, but he was limited to just working with exercise equipment. The Lakers say that are focused on the bigger picture and want to concentrate on the other 81 games of the season, so it sounds like they will be without their All-Star. We'll update you if there is a change in his status.

The LA Times is reporting that Lakers' big man Pau Gasol could be forced to miss the team's regualar season opener due to a hamstring injury. Gasol has already been ruled out for the team's remaining preseason games.

Our View:Gasol practiced yesterday, but he felt some soreness in the leg today. The Lakers will play it safe with their All-Star, as missing one game is no big deal in the whole scope of things. Gasol owners will want to check back before the opener to find out his status.

The OC Register is reporting that Lakers' big man Pau Gasol is recovering nicely from finger surgery. Gasol said on his web page that there have been no setbacks and that he still hopes to play in the European Championships that begin this week.

Our View:It sounds like Gasol will be fine for the NBA season as long as he doesn't re-injure the finger playing overseas this summer. The Lakers would probably prefer if he didn't play for Spain, but the finger is on his non-shooting hand, so they may be a little more lenient.

Updating a previous report, Lakers' center Pau Gasol underwent surgery to repair a ligament in his left index finger, according to the Associated Press. Gasol injured the finger on Monday while practicing with the Spanish national team.

Our View:Gasol is expected to wear a splint for 20 days, and he hopes to be ready to return for the European Championships that begin September 7. Gasol should be fine when the NBA season begins, so no worries here unless he injures it more seriously before then.

Marca.com reports that Pau Gasol is considering playing for Spain at the Eurobasket tournament this summer.

Our View:Gasol is coming off of his first NBA Championship. He has won the silver medal in the European Championships in 2003 and 2007, but he did not play in 2005. After a long 2008-09 season, fantasy owners would prefer that he get rest this summer and come back strong next season. He is among the most valuable big men in the game.

Pau Gasol notched a double-double in Thursday's 99-91 overtime win against the Magic in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, as he scored 16 points and 10 rebounds. He also chipped in one assist and one steal.

Our View:Gasol remains a strong supporting player to star guard Kobe Bryant, as Gasol racked up his 15th double-double of the playoffs, and his second in the finals. The Lakers are one win away from claiming the NBA title with a 3-1 lead over Orlando.

Pau Gasol dropped in 24 points and grabbed ten rebounds as the Lakers downed the Magic 101-96 in overtime on Sunday. LA now has a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.

Our View:Gasol had three assists, two steals and a blocked shot to go along with his double-double and hit seven of his 14 shots from the field. He has 40 total points in the first two games of the Finals and has pulled down 18 rebounds.

Our View:The offcial announcement is expected tomorrow, but Staples Center appears to be the site in 2011.

Our View:Gasol reached a double-double in his previous nine games, but was productive enough for the Lakers to take a 1-0 lead in the series despite having his streak snapped.

Our View:Gasol hit eight of his 12 attempts from the field and also had three steals and a blocked shot in the game. He registered a double-double in every game in the series against Denver.

Our View:Gasol was also good for three assists, a steal and two blocked shots in the game. The point total was tied for his lowest of the playoffs this season, but he was big around the glass. He has been a rebounding machine this postseason with 143 total boards.

Our View:Gasol has been solid since Yao Ming went down but today was his best performance of the season. He'll have a much more difficult task in the next round while dealing with Nene Hilario, Chris Andersen, and Kenyon Martin.

Our View:Gasol was able to take advantage of the Rockets who were without Yao Ming and Dikembe Mutumbo. They started 6-foot-6 Chuck Hayes at center. Gasol should continue to have his way on offense for the remainder of the series, but he needs to do a better job on the boards.

Our View:To go along with Gasol's 20 points and nine boards he also had an assist, two steals and a blocked shot. He was 8-of-15 from the field, but struggled at the line, hitting just 4 of ten shots.

Our View:Gasol was 8-of-12 shooting and also grabbed and steal and blocked two shots in the game. His 20 points were a nice bounce back as he scored just 12 points in previous back-to-back games.

Our View:Eleven of Gasol 19 rebounds were on the offensive glass, also a season-high. In fact, Gasol had not grabbed more than eight offensive boards in a game all season.

Our View:Without Andris Biedrins in the lineup, Gasol ate up Ronny Turiaf. Gasol has arguably been the best center in the league since Andrew Bynum went down. Through nine games this month, he is hitting 63.3 percent of his shots.

Our View:Gasol is hitting 66 percent from the field over his last five games, and it's clear that the triangle has been humming since the injury to Andrew Bynum. Gasol's value has spiked since the big man went down in January and will likely take a hit when/if he returns.

Our View:Gasol has really stepped up his game with Andrew Bynum on the shelf, as he is averaging 22.3 points, 11.5 boards and five assists over 10 games this month.

Our View:Gasol was a force on defense, but once again he looked pretty soft on the other end of the court. The Lakers sure could have used one more bucket or one more stop tonight.
