According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the A's have demoted first baseman Tommy Everidge to Triple-A.
Everidge started out hot with the A's, but has cooled considerably in the last couple weeks, and with Daric Barton back from the DL the A's had to make a choice. Barton is the more appealing prospect, so they went with him. Don't be surprised if Everidge gets another look when rosters expand though.
Tommy Everidge has been called up to the Oakland A's, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Everidge has been a premier power hitter in the minor leagues, but is already 26 and has never played in a major league game. That being said, he has been absolutely killing Triple-A pitching over the last month, and is batting .382 with a .432 on-base percentage, Billy Beane's dream. He will play first base and bat seventh tonight. Keep a very close eye on him in AL-only leagues.
