According to Todd Zolecki on Twitter, the Phillies recalled lefty Sergio Escalona from Triple-A.
Our View:
This is likely an early tryout for a spot in next year's bullpen for the solid young lefty. He'll work situationally in relief for the remainder of the regular season.

Phillies' beat writer Todd Zolecki is reporting on his Twitter page that the team has optioned Sergio Escalona to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to make room for the activation of Scott Eyre. Escalona has a 2.84 ERA with the Phillies this season.
Our View:
Escalona has not held any fantasy value this season, and that doesn't figure to change as the year goes on. He is probably better served in Triple-A, so this is not a bad move for the team.

Sergio Escalona has been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take the roster spot of injured starting pitcher Antonio Bastardo, according to ESPN.
Our View:
Escalona is a left handed reliever, and will not be taking Bastardo's spot in the rotation. He has a 3.38 ERA in 5.1 innings this year, and will probably not be used enough to warrant consideration as a middle reliever in any format.

TSN.ca is reporting that the Phillies have optioned reliever Sergio Escalona to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. This move comes in order to make room for the activation of closer Brad Lidge.
Our View:
Escalona pitched one perfect inning on Tuesday night, and that was his only appearance in his two-day stint with the big club. He still holds no fantasy value, and will not have any in the foreseeable future.

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, the Phillies have recalled pitcher Sergio Escalona from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He will replace the injured Clay Condrey, who was placed on the 15-day DL with a strained oblique.
Our View:
Escalona has made four appearances for the Phillies already this season, and he hasn't been overwhelmingly good for the most part. He has no fantasy value as a fringe middle reliever, so no need to worry about him in fantasy circles.

Our View:
Escalona pitched during his one day call up on Saturday, going two innings and surrendering two earned runs against the Red Sox. There is no need to keep him on your radar.

Our View:
Escalona did not allow a run over 2.1 innings of relief with the Philies this season, and he will provide solid depth in the bullpen, but his fantasy value is limited to deeper leagues that feature middle men.

Our View:
Escalona threw 2.1 scoreless innings prior to being sent down, and skipper Charlie Manuel noted that he did a good job and has potential. Regardless, he did not hold much fantasy value as a middle reliever.

Sergio Escalona picked up a win in his major league debut as the Phillies defeated the Nationals 8-6 on Sunday. He struck out one hitter while allowing one hit, no walks, and no runs.
Our View:
The Phillies could really use some quality arms right now, and this 24-year-old should get a chance to prove what he can do. Regardless, the reliever has next to no fantasy value at this point.
