The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that the Pirates have claimed right-handed pitcher Chris Jakubauskas from the Mariners. Jakubauskas was 6-7 with a 5.32 ERA in 35 appearances for Seattle last season.
Our View:
Jakubauskas struggled through injuries for much of last season, and he wasn't great when he did get on the mound. He made eight starts, so he could work out of the rotation or bullpen for the Pirates next season.

Chris Jakubauskas (shoulder) will likely rejoin the Mariners on Sunday, according to the Seattle Times.
Our View:
He felt good in a bullpen session on Wednesday, and will throw two more before Sunday. Barring a setback in those, Sunday's the day for his return.

Chris Jakubauskas has been optioned to Triple-A Tacoma by the Mariners, according to MLB.com. In a corresponding move, the team purchased the contract of right-hander Randy Messenger.
Our View:
Jakubauskas has been dealing with some cramping in his back as of late, and apparently the team wants someone who can help them now. He has helped the team at points this season, but he won't be terribly missed at this point.

The Seattle Times reports that reliever Chris Jakubauskas will be on the shelf for a few days due to cramping in his back.
Our View:
Jakubauskas noticed the problem in the sixth inning yesterday and the soreness in his back and shoulder reappeared this morning. The team doesn't want to take any chances with him.

The Seattle Times reports that due to his poor performance Chris Jakubauskas has been demoted to the bullpen.
Our View:
Jakubauskas will no longer start on Sunday and will be replaced in the rotation by Garrett Olson. He was 3-5 with a 6.45 ERA and the Mariners just couldn't afford to keep him in the rotation any longer. He will try and get straightened out in the bullpen. What little fantasy value he had is now lost completely.

Chris Jakubauskas got shelled by the Twins on Friday. He allowed nine runs on eight hits and three walks over just 4.1 innings and fell to 1-4 on the season after the 11-0 loss.
Our View:
Jakubauskas is not making believers out of anyone at this point. He's far too unstable to be employed in fantasy lineups. So unless you like playing with fire, keep him on the bench.

Chris Jakubauskas didn't last long on Sunday, but the game certainly did. He allowed four runs on six hits over just 4.1 innings, but did not factor in the decision as the game didn't end until the 15th inning.
Our View:
Jakubauskas hasn't impressed enough to be considered a viable fantasy starter at this point. He likely won't get any looks outside of deep AL-only leagues.

Chris Jakubauskas looked good on Tuesday, but was handed a tough luck loss. He tossed a complete game and allowed just two runs on two hits and a walk over eight innings in the Mariners' 2-1 loss to the White Sox.
Our View:
OK, so he's good every other start. I guess the Mariners would take a chance to win every other time out, but fantasy owners won't be too pleased. Today's start dropped his ERA almost two full runs, but it still sits at a meaty 5.23.

Chris Jakubauskas got hammered on Wednesday night by the Rays, lasting only 3.1 innings while giving up six runs on ten hits. He walked three and struck out only one.
Our View:
Jakubauskas was impressive in his last start, but this one was a different story. The Rays had their way with him, and his limited fantasy value as a starter took a big hit tonight.
