Josh Roenicke will join the Blue Jays' bullpen on Saturday, MLB.com confirms.
Roenicke has good stuff, but he is no more than a middle reliever at this point.
Josh Roenicke has been traded from Cincinnati to Toronto as part of the deal that shipped Scott Rolen to the Reds, according to TSN.
Roenicke held a 2.70 ERA over 13.1 innings of relief with the Reds. He should benefit from playing his home games at the pitcher-friendly Rogers Centre with Toronto, but his fantasy value will remain limited as a middle reliever.
The Cincinnati Reds' official Twitter page is reporting that the team has recalled reliever Josh Roenicke from Triple-A Louisville. Roenicke will replace the injured Jared Burton on the roster.
Roenicke was optioned on July 17, so it didn't take him long to get back. He has thrown 12.1 innings for the Reds this season, and he has only given up four runs while striking out 12. He should prove to be a nice boost for the bullpen in Cincy.
