Argenis Reyes has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo by the Mets, according to the New York Post. Newly acquired Angel Berroa was recalled to replace Reyes on the roster.

Our View:

Reyes has been back and forth between the Mets and Triple-A this season, and he is probably better off in Buffalo at this point. He will probably be recalled at some point in the second half of the season, but he will still be fantasy irrelevant when he does.

Argenis Reyes has been recalled from Triple-A to replace the injured Fernando Martinez, according to MetsBlog.com. He was optioned yesterday to make room for Oliver Perez, but he is back due to the injury.

Our View:

Reyes will just be bench depth for the Mets for now, but at the rate they get injured he could find himself being an everyday play by the All-Star break. He has no fantasy value, as he will have a very limited number of at-bats.

July 8, 2009

According to ESPN, the Mets have optioned infielder Argenis Reyes to Triple-A Buffalo to make room for the activation of Oliver Perez. Reyes only has one hit in 13 at-bats for the Mets this season.

Our View:

Reyes was just depth while he was on the big league club, and he hasn't shown anything at the plate to make anyone believe he will be fantasy relevant this season. No reason to monitor him, since he won't have any value even if he does come back up.

Argenis Reyes has been recalled by the Mets from Triple-A Buffalo, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:

Reyes should see some action with the Mets while providing needed depth as a middle infielder, but he is a career .218 hitter in the majors with little power, and is only worth a look in deeper NL-only leagues.

January 20, 2009

Argenis Reyes has signed a minor league deal with the Mets, according to Baseball America.

Our View:

Reyes would merely provide depth as a backup middle infielder if he manages to make the Mets out of spring training, and won't be fantasy worthy, especially since he held a poor .265 OBP over 107 at-bats in 2008.
