GM Brian Sabean does not see John Bowker competing for a role in right field, according to Henry Schulman's (San Francisco Chronicle)
Bowker could see action in left field, with Mark DeRosa likely to start there. He did not impress the Giants in 2009, but still has enough upside to keep tabs on as a potential flier - namely in case more playing time opens up due to injuries.
The
Bowker struggled in his first stint with the team this season, hitting only .182 in 33 at-bats. Guzman was even worse, going 2-for-15 in his short stint earlier this year. Joaquin has thrown exactly one inning with the Giants this season, and he allowed one run while striking out one.
