Drew Macias has been recalled by the Padres, according to MLB.com. Macias will replace Mike Adams, who was placed on the DL, on the roster.
Macias is 6-for-33 with the Padres this season, and he doesn't figure to be much better this time around. If he does get playing time in the outfield, he won't be any kind of offensive threat.
Drew Macias has been optioned to Triple-A Portland, according to the Padres' Twitter page.
The team is making room for the recently activated David Eckstein. Macias was hitting just .182 in 33 at-bats this season.
The Boston Globe is reporting that the Padres have recalled outfielder Drew Macias from Triple-A Portland. In a corresponding move, the team optioned Ryan Webb to Triple-A.
Macias hit .278 over 18 at-bats with the team earlier this season, and they are giving him another chance now. With the new push in San Diego to play the young guys, Macias could see some time. He will have little-to-no fantasy value unless he plays every day, however.
Drew Macias has been optioned to Triple-A Portland by the Padres, according to TSN.
Macias hit a respectable .278 over 18 at-bats, but did not impress the Padres enough to save his job. He did not see enough action to be missed in fantasy leagues.
Drew Macias has been recalled from Triple-A Portland by the Padres, according to TSN. Pitcher Arturo Lopez was sent down to Portland as the adjoining move.
The 26-year-old is a career .217 hitter in the majors, and is not expected to hold value outside of deeper NL-only leagues while providing depth in the Padres' outfield.
The Padres have called up outfielder Drew Macias from Triple-A Portland.
Macias was previously in the big leagues when Cliff Floyd was injured, and he only managed two at-bats. We don't believe he'll see much action this time either.
Drew Macias has been recalled from the minors by the Padres, according to Scout.com. The club placed Cliff Floyd (strained right shoulder) on the 15-day DL as the corresponding move.
Macias hit .294 (15-for-51) in spring action, but does not merit fantasy consideration while providing depth as a backup outfielder.
Drew Macias was 3-for-5 with two RBI, and a run scored in Saturday's 8-6 loss to Cleveland. He played all nine innings in the outfield.
The 26-year-old is having a decent spring, as evidenced by his .303 batting average. However, he is probably a fifth outfielder at best as he boasts little power and a typically weak batting average.
