According to MLB.com, Tigers' pitcher Armando Galarraga will play catch Sunday morning in order to gauge whether the inflammation in his elbow is subsiding. Galarraga is hopeful that he will be able to start on Wednesday.
Our View:
With Nate Robertson going down with injury, the team needs a starter for Wednesday. If Galarraga feels good after throwing today, he will start on Wednesday in Robertson's place. If he doesn't have a successful session today, he could be shut down for the rest of the season.

Our View:
Apparently Galarraga did not benefit from his stint in the minors, and remains an unstable option among fantasy hurlers. The Tigers still managed to win the game, and Galarraga takes a no-decision.

Our View:
Galarraga is just 6-10 with a 5.05 ERA in 24 starts this season, and isn't guaranteed any more starts after today. He's not a good play.

Our View:
Galarraga has been a huge bust in 2009 after his sterling '08 campaign (13-7, 3.73 ERA), going 6-10 with a 5.05 ERA in 24 starts. He's not a good spot-starting option.

Armando Galarraga is scheduled to thow a side session on Sunday to determine when he will be able to resume pitching, according to MLB.com. Galarraga has been dealing with elbow inflammation.
Our View:
Galarraga hopes that he will be cleared to resume pitching early next week, but it will depend on how the session goes today. He is still expected to return to the team in September, but today's session will go a long way in determining how early in the month it will be.

According to the Twitter page of Tigers' beat writer Jason Beck, the team has demoted pitcher Armando Galarraga to Triple-A Toledo with elbow inflammation. He is expected to be replaced in the rotation by Nate Robertson.
Our View:
Galarraga has struggled for the Tigers this season, but this move still comes as a bit of a surprise. He is apparently dealing with some elbow inflammation, so he will be looking to head to Toledo to get some things figured out. It seems likely that he will return to the team in September, but his role is unknown at this time.

Galarraga pitched well enough to win tonight, but unfortunately so did his counterpart, Trevor Cahill. Galarraga has struggled a bit this month, but he looked very much like his early-season self tonight.

Galarraga has failed to pitch six innings in any of his three starts this month and looks like he is starting to wear down considerably. If you have someone else to pitch in his place, now is the time to get him out of your rotation.

Our View:
Zach Miner will fill in for Galarraga as a spot starter, but the Tigers will likely have to lean heavily on their bullpen. Galarraga sounds like he just caught a bug and should be fine his next time out.

Galarraga had looked pretty good over his previous five starts but then came out with this ERA and WHIP killer. It'll be tough to trust him in any format the rest of this year based on how shaky he's been in his sophomore campaign.

Armando Galarraga has been a weak link in a solid Tigers' rotation. He has the highest ERA among their regular starters at 5.09, and is yet to last longer than seven innings in any start this season.

Detroit was leading 2-1 when he exited, but the Royals rallied to score three runs over the final two innings of the game, so Galarraga was forced to take a no-decision rather than a win for his strong outing. He is pitching well right now, as he only allowed one earned run in each of his last two starts.

Our View:
After a shaky first innings in which he let up three runs, Galarraga settled down and actually tossed a pretty good game. His fantasy value still remains fairly low, but he pitches for a good team and he has shown flashes of being a solid starting pitcher. AL-only owners may give him a look if you are in need of pitching.

Armando Galarraga is reportedly on thin ice regarding his spot in the Tigers' rotation, according to Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press. It does sound like skipper Jim Leyland will give him a chance to bounce back however. Leyland said, "We will get him going. He is a good major league pitcher, and I do not think we will have any problem getting him going."
Our View:
Galarraga is 3-3 over eight starts, with a poor 5.62 ERA. He has not won since April 26, and has been dealt a loss in three of his last four starts. He could be dropped from the rotation when Jeremy Bonderman returns if Galarraga does not get on track soon.

This was Galarraga's worst start of the year, as he had been stellar up until tonight. He will get his share of wins if the Tigers keep hitting, and his value is still awfully high at the moment.

Galarraga has been a nice fantasy surprise this season. His ERA sits at a scant 1.85 and he has fanned nearly a batter per inning on the season. Roll over Verlander. There's a new ace in Detroit.

This was Galarraga's longest outing of the spring, and he looked pretty sharp. He only posted a 6.35 K/9 last season, and it seems unlikely to go much higher. Another year like last would probably be above his expectations this season, but not an impossible benchmark to reach.

The surprise of the Tigers staff last year has been so-so in the WBC thus far. He has definite potential fantasy value after a 13-win sub-4.00 ERA last year, but he faded down the stretch as it appeared the long season was too much for him.
