Venable now has 12 home runs and 37 RBI in 87 games this season. He will likely be a fixture in the Padres' 2010 outfield.

According to Corey Brock on Twitter, Will Venable was a late scratch for Tuesday's game due to flu-like symptoms.
Our View:
He was replaced in the lineup by Edgar Gonzalez and will likely only miss a day or two. He also gets to skip having to face Dan Haren. An added bonus for his stats.

Venable has been tearing the cover off the ball the past seven days or so (five home runs, 11 RBI), and is worth a look in all formats if you are in need of a hot streak to ride.

Venable has 10 hits and nine RBI over his last five games. Keep him active in NL-only lineups while hot.

Will Venable paced the Padres on Thursday with his second four-RBI game of the month. The 26-year-old center fielder went 4-for-5 with a home run and four runs, as well, as the Padres won 7-4 in Cincy.
Our View:
The four hits raised his average to just .235, however. Not worth a look anywhere besides very deep NL-only leagues.

Our View:
Venable is hitting just .233, but the Padres feel he has real upside and could be a sleeper to perform well in the second half. He was a key ingredient in them trading away Scott Hairston.

The Sports Network reports that Will Venable has been called up from Triple-A to replace the injured Scott Hairston.
Our View:
Venable was solid in 25 games last season, and was hitting well at Triple-A this season. He had 12 home runs, 30 RBI, and 33 runs scored in 200 Triple-A at bats this year. He will probably not see an every day job for the Padres.

Will Venable went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers for Triple-A Portland on Wednesday, giving him nine home runs for the season.
Our View:
Venable failed to make the Padres' 25-man roster out of spring training after hitting .264 in 110 at-bats in the majors last season. He is now hitting .258-9-24 at Triple-A, and he would seem to be a strong candidate to be called up should something happen to one of the team's outfielders.
